Had my wedding here on April 13 at the forest pavilion and it was great. The ceremony was suppose to be at the cultivar garden, but unexpected rain made us change it to the Lenz classroom.
The Botanical Gardens was very accommodating in the last minute changes including the last minute set up of an extra tent and day of set up of the ceremony and reception. The gardens provides many locations for beautiful pictures and is such a wonderful place to explore.
Their wedding services includes tram service to and from the parking area, ceremony and reception area. Their bride and groom rooms are close to the restroom and reception area.
My guest enjoyed the gardens and I was able to capture beautiful picture with all the flowers in bloom.

I came for the first time because I was in the area and had lots of time, and I’m so glad I stopped by. I came on a Sunday afternoon, and it was relatively uncrowded.

The place is huge, gorgeous, and you are surrounded by the peaceful sounds of birds, crickets, and squirrels running around. It’s amazing to see a place dedicated to preserving Californias native plants. There are tons of trails for all comfort levels to explore. Some are large and obvious, others slightly more hidden but still clearly marked.

Very relaxing botanic garden. Spent about an hour strolling around the garden grounds. There are lots of hidden spots to sit and relax. Overall, it's a wonderful botanic garden. Plus the parking is free.

I JUST LOVEEEE the ambience!!! It is soooooo relaxing and calm. It feels refreshing, soothing and peaceful. I think one should definitely go there to recharge and get in tune with one's self. It has all the makings for a great date. One could really take the time to know someone without the distraction of the hustle and bustle of every day. There are some benches outside in the parking lot and one could have an awesome picnic after walking around. They do have a lot of things to see, birds, squirrels, a pond with turtles. They have many fountains for various animals and insects. The plants are well kept and there are plenty of secluded or private benches to lounge around and relax.

I've been to many native CA gardens and this one is wonderfully huge! An amazing space to see how native plants can flourish when given a large amount of space. Be prepared to walk a lot, we just did the main loop and walked over 3 miles.

The garden is a beautiful natural setting, specializing in California native plants of all kinds, bushes to sequoia.
Be prepared to walk, it's quite large.

A great gem for anyone wanting to explore California’s rich diversity of plants whether you’ve lived here for years or you’re welcoming a friend from out of town. Inexpensive and accessible. Don’t wait too long because parking gets full by noon!

Was expecting a nicer Home Depot garden experience. Was absolutely blown away.

Think of this like a shorter, but much more diverse, hike through California’s backcountry. You can make this as long or short as a walk as you’d like. My wife and I who are regular hikers walked through slowly for about an a hour and a half in Chacos. There are paved and non paved trail options.

We dont have kids, but we feel like it’s a great spot to bring them.

10/10 experience and we signed up to be members.

Gorgeous place for a leisurely hike. Very reasonably priced at $10.
Such gorgeous surroundings. Wish the trails were a little better marked - but it was lovely to wander around.
Hope to be able to return and see more of the grounds!

The California Habitat area here is particularly unique! Don’t let the bare entrance fool you. This botanic garden features a well-maintained wilderness! Once I got away from the entrance, I felt separated from the surrounding suburbs. There’s much to enjoy here, even if you won’t find a lot of cultivated, planted flowers like some of the other gardens in the area.

A gorgeous and well maintained place devoted to native plants and trees of California. Of course those indigenous to Southern California grow better and healthier but there was a decent amount of NorCal representation. A high recommendation for any lover of nature

It is worth every penny! With all the rain we had a couple months back the plants were so vibrant. We spent about a couple hours just really taking in the sights, sounds, and smells this garden had to offer.

What a beautiful, serene hidden gem! My husband and I held an intimate wedding ceremony at the Upper Pond with 32 guests. It was the most beautiful day, and the Upper Pond truly is a magical space! The sounds of the water stream during our ceremony was so calming and peaceful. And to add to the magical experience, two hummingbirds and various butterflies fluttered around us throughout our entire ceremony. It was the perfect day.

Thank you endlessly to CalBG events manager Adaline and all of the staff at CalBG for all of their hard work and support during our wedding planning process, and of course the big day itself! Adaline was always so gracious and patient with all of my questions, and most helpful when I needed to rent chairs through the venue for our guests. The staff at the front entrance was equally as enthusiastic and helpful with our guests. Everyone at CalBG is so friendly and welcoming, they made our wedding day so special. Thank you thank you thank you!!!!

Not having too many flowers in winter, but still a good place to walk and think.🙂

I was stuck in the hustle and bustle and came across this gem on my GPS. It was only $10 (can get online or in-person). It was easy to find and there was plenty of parking. Being, that it was a weekday, there was almost no one. The sounds of so many birds, was incredible. Walking by the ponds and hearing the water, was incredibly peaceful. I was able to take my time and walked the entire garden. Be aware, there are some small freaks, closed for updating. Great place to get away from the noisy city streets.

I love it. This botanic garden features all native Californian plants! The educational signage is excellent, giving both botanical information and easy-to-understand advice for home gardeners. The gardens are quite large and if you walk through the entire thing, you will have taken quite a good walk!

Idyllic botanical garden featuring native California plants. They’re open for timed ticket holders (8am-1pm or 3pm-8pm) and you can reserve the date and times it you want on their website. It’s $10 for adults and $6 for students with IDs. They offer annual memberships as well. You give your name at the ticket counter and then you get your allotted time slot to explore the grounds. Parking is free and there’s a lot.

The area is very peaceful and there’s plenty of paved paths for strollers and wheelchairs. There’s only one bathroom open right now and you need to bring your own water bottles in. There’s a ton of benches for you to sit and rest; most of the paths are super flat and even. There’s some shade but there are exposed areas so wear sunblock and bring a hat/sunglasses.

It’s a good spot to bring the family or go on a date or even take some time for yourself to walk around in meditative silence. It’s nice to see that there’s another botanical garden off the beaten path for people in the Foothills to enjoy.
