LAGS Medical Centers

I was just on here trying to see if LAGS offered Primary Care because I have been so impressed with the care I have received in Psychiatric Health Care. I’m seeing all of these negative reviews and while I don’t know what it used to be like there, I do know that for over a year they have given me amazing care and the ONLY place I have been able to find with my insurance that ALWAYS has time for me, ALWAYS answers the phone, ALWAYS gets me an appointment, and AlWAYS is reliable the day I need it. They have been nothing but professional and Caring.
I was accidentally referred to county Mental Health where they have severe patients and I was so disgusted at the process it takes to even get a doctor in a room and now I completely understand why we have so many homeless people with mental health issues being ignored. Luckily my problems were pretty minor and was redirected to LAGS and they have been fast, caring, helpful, and responsible with my care ever since. I highly recommend them.

Dr. Lagattuta is a very caring person and truly tries to find and fix the underlying cause of pain. His entire medical staff follows protocols that allow them to find and treat the source of pain while prescribing minimal medicine to help alleviate pain. Expect to do a urine drug test and complete many surveys at your first visit. Also, most patients will get various diagnostic studies that help find the source of pain. Lags Medical Centers also has a Neurologist and a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner at this location. Dr. Lags is an expert on Neuopathy (which is a leading cause of pain) and will assess every patient to rule out neuropathy. At the end of the day, you will get an expert-level evaluation and recommended treatment.

Was seen in a reasonable amount of time, wasn't the best by any means, but they were friendly and seems to be eager to find the source of my pain and they were truly sincere it seemed anyways... Prescribed pain meds and was more than hrlpful.

Dr. Galan was my neurologist and he is very very good and experienced. Sadly, the clerical support and office staff constantly had people quitting their jobs or losing records. Dr
Galan worked with a medical equipment tech from StJude and Abbot, a Mr. Bowie, who in the end completely unprofessional! He threatened to discontinue therapy because I asked him to stop ripping tape off my back!

Words cannot express my disappointment in the staffs lack of ability to follow through. Wonderful physician and medical assistant but if you can’t get communication it fails treatment.

I came to LAGS hoping to get some relief from some mental health issues only to have reoccurring issues with EVERY aspect of their practice (not an overstatement). Appointments cancelled at a whims noticed, changing my psychiatrist without my knowledge, losing medical records and having to go through the whole process again, to driving to appointment only to find that the location has been permanently closed for a month with no heads up. Oh and don’t ever count on getting your medications refilled in a timely matter or without multiple phone calls. It really is discouraging for someone like myself who has been struggling with depression and anxiety. Their absolute lack of care is sad, why go into this field if you have no interest in your patient’s wellbeing? Shameful.

I've been a patient of Dr. Lagattuta since he opened his office in Lompoc. (10 + yrs give or take) Dr. Lag is awesome however he hires other doctors most of them in training, like
P A Olivia Steinburg.
(I usually see Dr. Gallon who is awesome and whom I HIGHLY RECOMEND.) However, a urine test came back with a false positive due to the use of the decongestant drug named sudaphede. At my request to be retested P A Olivia Steinberg refused, she refused to have blood work done to retest me and pulled me off all if my morphine meds.(120 mg a day. ) a P A does not have the authorization or lisence to due this. I filed a complaint against her with the California Medical Board.

Honestly never felt more uncared for by a doctor before. Wait times are unbelievable, while trying to understand their work loads, I believe that they need to pay better attention to the way they schedule their patients. Always waiting on another doctor while they’re supposed to be helping one patient, but with another.

Everyone I have talked to from receptionist to authorizations are very rude would not recommend
