5 star experience, wasn't the exact sedan I had on my reservation but the 2023 Camry I got was comperable in size and fun to drive, it definitely made California traffic easier. I had a friendly check with a fast moving line, 5-10 minutes per person max, and a quick turnaround to get the key which was neseccary since I flew in at 11:30 PM. Drop-off was easy as can be. Just drive into the lane, take your belongings out, leave the key in the car and walk to the terminal. They even removed the credit card hold for incidentals same day once it passed their inspection!

Not to downplay the other reviews if they had legitimate issues but I left the car with a full tank of gas and no belongings or trash in the car and have no complaints about their service. I will definitely do business with them again after this experience.

Girl at front desk was super friendly and helpful. Pick up and drop off process was smooth AF. Toyota Corola was clean and had no issues.

Perfect experience renting from Thrifty in San Jose airport. Ally (sp) was very personable and kind during my check in. I received a clean Toyota Corolla and had no issue with the return. Thank you!

Es un buen lugar que cuenta con excelentes vehículos, rápida atención y amabilidad. Lo único es que tienen vehículos eléctricos Bolt, el cual no recomiendo por su baja autonomía y dificultad de encontrar puntos de recarga. Además en viaje de negocios o turismo este tipo de vehículos No es la mejor opción. Tuve que volver a cambiarlo y muy amables lo hicieron. Si vuelvo de todas maneras a alquilar un vehículo lo haré con ellos por su amabilidad…

My first experience with an EV. No instructions were given. The battery guide is hidden under "EV" on the information panel. The big circle behind the steering wheel does NOT show the battery level. We drove for 3 days thinking we were doing fine until we were on our way to meet family and got a warning light the battery was almost dead. We had to cancel the visit and waste an entire day waiting 7 hours for the battery to charge. READ THE MANUAL (IF YOU CAN MAKE HEADS OR TAILS) BEFORE LEAVING THE RENTAL PLACE.

Rented a car for three days. It was super easy to pick up and drop off the car. It was clean and worked well. The problem is that I prepaid the full rental thru my credit card's travel portal months before, but I received another three days of charges upon checkout. Currently disputing this extra charge with the credit card. They can see I already paid it and should be an easy decision my way.

Horrible service
I Arrived 35 min early to my booking time since flight landed early so first they tried to sell me upgrade. When I refused then made me wait 35 min. Once the car was issued, I went to given car location to pickup but car was not there. Had to go back down to counter and stand in line again.
Finally got my car after an hr of landing.

This was the worst experience I have ever had with a car rental company. They charged me all this money for a rental. When I got into car and got down the road the check in light came on. I took the car back and asked for a full refund. They did not want to refund my but until demand my monies back. Then they told me to wait up 10 business days to see a refund. I am trying to reach out to check on the status of my refund but there is no contact number to speak to them regarding my refund.

I have some questions about a few charges from my bank statement regarding this rental. I tried calling them and they don't have an option to talk with a human being which is a huge bummer. I don't want to have to dispute the charges if they were for something legitmate and I am not able to get the receipt online. I am not renting a car again because of this whole ordeal. Or at least, I am not renting from thrifty and hertz again.

Fraud at it best - even though the car was returned in the best condition with little bit of sand here and there - they charged cleaning fee and most of all the manger and mr faddy will ensure you get the worst experience. Thrifty will do whatever it takes to make money out of the rental by commiting all sorts of fraud and even at the time of picking the rental , even though I had booked a compact car or better , they wouldn’t honor it - and ask for more money. You have to really fight to stop this fraud. Better never ever rent from them unless you are willing to pay a hefty fraud amount and later dispute it through your credit card company. Even though it was noticed to the manager that they cannot get away with such fraud charges and eventually be disputed legally and through credit card companies - I salute the audacity at which they still do fraud charges and feel like can get away with it and keep looting . Never ever let these guys even win a dollar extra from you and do whatever it takes to fight for it

Should be shut down its so fraudulent. Charged my credit card $100 for 6 gallons of gas when the tank was full on return. Receipt stated I drove 132 miles, when it was less than 10. I live 2 miles from the airport. Disputing with my credit card company.

WORST customer service EVER. I was just on the phone with them because there was a spelling error on the drivers name to pick up the car that I wanted to fix. I waited 40 minutes on hold to talk to someone. Once I got on the phone with the representative she was rude and said she could not help. I asked why and asked for a supervisor or manager. (Not to complain about her behavior, but simply because I really needed help). She started to yell saying there is no supervisors and there is nothing she can do. I asked why there wasn't anyone else that can help me and she yelled at me "There is no supervisors there is nothing we can do BYE" and hung up on me without helping me or letting me say another word. Never in my life have I seen such bad customer service. Please DO NOT BOOK WITH THRIFTY. I wish i could give 0 stars because thats what they deserve

Horrible experience. They charged me 170$ for just fuel from my deposit which is thrice the amount. I get it if a customer returns the car with less fuel. But that doesn’t mean you charge them with 2 times the fuel rate to fill up the car to a full tank. This is really bad from Thrifty and the customer service was bad too when I tried to speak about this.

I’ve never felt more taken advantage of in my entire life. I advanced selected a full size vehicle with points through my credit card.

Upon arrival, I wanted for over two hours in line to have the representative let me know that they did not have a car for me and that I needed to upgrade unless I wanted to wait another 2-4 hours for a vehicle to be ready for me.

I was in town for a wedding and did not have additional time to wait.

After all the swindling, I ended up paying over $700 for a Camry for 4 days.

I will never use thrifty or hertz again.

Avoid. Had a reservation pre-booked. Got to the terminal with 3 tired and cranky kids. They said I'd have to wait 2 to 3 hours. I was 30 minutes past my expected pickup. The 3 people in front of me also got the same response. Incompetent business who cannot fulfill their promises.

Horrible service, we had a huge issue with the staff not honouring the policy on their website and wasting 2 hours of our day demanding a passport even though we had a Canadian license which is exempt from that rule. The manager, Barbara was especially rude.

Didn't have the car we wanted. Paid an extra $100 to get another car. Car was parked at the wrong number so we had to search for it. Tire pressure was low on all four tires. Had to go back to exchange.

Now I know why this place got such low ratings. I rented a luxury level car from the San Jose Airport location but due to availability issues the rude counter guy offered me a Toyota Camry instead. In what world is a Camry considered luxury. Yeah you got me this time Thrify, never again. Ripping off your customers by downgrading them is not good business practice.
