Hertz Car Rental - San Jose International Airport

Pretty good and seamless experience for me. No line at the counter, check in took less than 5 minutes. The car was at the assigned space, I did a quick walk through, marked it on the paper and dropped it off with the attendant upon exit. Car return was a quick drop off with key inside it. No additional charges on my end. The car performed as advertised.

I had a great experience, wide selection of cars to choose from and no wait. I am Hertz gold, so that may have helped, but based on this experience I would return and do it again.

I would like to review this Hertz location in San Jose, directed towards Ted. My mother and I arrived at San Jose airport this month and we were in line for hertz to get our rental car. This was a very stressful trip due to coming out to caregive my Grandmother who is ailing. Unfortunately there were issues with our credit card to the name on file and Ted was so patient and so kind to us. We will never forget his kindness and service during this time. Could have been "Easy Peasey" - Alas a "fleasing" about "chips" on the lower portion of the passenger side windshield ?

It is so easy to pick up a car and return it. It would have been helpful if there was better signage when we first came out of the elevator in the parking garage. A guy who worked for a different car rental company sent us in the wrong direction, I guess he thought that was funny. Not. Easy return, I love returning cars here, just drive up, get out, and walk away. One suggestion... the path that one must walk should be resurfaced, and more clearly marked for people arriving to the airport , and are not familiar with how to get to the shuttle to the rental car area. There are too many distractions, humps and bumps in the pavement, and you have to ASSUME you are headed in the correct direction. It wouldn't take much more than a little tar and brightly colored paint that is not the same color as the lines on a street. I'm just saying.

Early morning flight with SW and dropping off the rental was hassle-free.

Liked their service and cars. Easy and cost-effective upgrades offered. Easy checkin and checkout process. Clear marked sections for car selections. multiple options for fuel delivery as well. The ereturn is really fast you can just park the car and leave. I got the bill pretty quick in few hours after the return.

I have rented here half a dozen times just this year, and as a President Circle member, I could always get the nice upgrade of the card that I liked! Thanks!

Helpful staff and clean vehicle. we asked for the vehicle upgrade and it was hassle free. No hidden charges and billing was immediate after the drop off

I have rented cars from here for about 2 years now. I never had a problem with renting car

they are super friendly and helpful. Just the car may need a better management so that they can be more trouble free. I changed three times until I got one that work with Apple CarPlay. They are very patience through the whole time tho.

Passenger seat didn't go back or recline. Very bad blind spots. Charger for phone didn't charge. Passenger windshield wipers didn't work. Otherwise, excellent experience. I just know I won't ever own a Toyota Camry.

Great service; however, vehicle lacked windshield wiper fluid and came with window nick.

The Hertz San Jose airport provides quality services and great car selections. I use them exclusively when I fly into San Jose. The cars are well maintained and clean. And depending on your membership level, you can upgrade your selection.

What else says "USA! USA!" more than a huge 3-ton Dodge Ram with a big v8 engine? You're in luck: they have it!

These folks are honest. I give higher ratings to those that do the right thing and not just the standard work (providing customer service processing your request… Yada yada yada). That’s required for American business. (And not to be abused). My own experience of leaving an item, valued at $100 item, was professionally tagged, put together in a plastic bag, and wasn’t allowed to be given to me until an authorized individual check to me as the owner. That individual checked off the necessary information: car returned, and rented individual name, and description of the item. I like that.

Sadly, my initial impression was that I was tossed around from person to person while under stress of the loss of my item. I took out my frustration at the beginning of this experience.

The front desk check in sent me upstairs to the car return floor. Car return floor attendant said for me to go to the manager on the car wash level. I was immediately stopped at the ramp to the level he said employees only. I didn’t realize I was raising my voice until I played the tape back when I told him, “you all gotta make up your mind. I’ve been sent here BY the first floor.” He immediately told me to stop raising my voice in a calm manner. Got me to help and he also explain about the liability of non-employees entering in that level. About 6 to 7 minutes later after checking the cleaning team that did the SUV he came back with a plastic bag with my item’s case. I still didn’t know if it was in there. Checked the case while I was in the operations office with the individual and found it there. He had an obvious smile expressing “ of course it’s there.”

That’s integrity and professionalism and it’s best.
I apologize to the entire team there for applying stress to an already elevated situation for everyone. No one deserves that specially when I’m asking for help. Good lesson in appropriate manners as a customer.

Nice and very friendly location. Got the car in minutes, left in seconds. Always have good selection of cars in great condition.

Excellent service by local manager. Keeps up the traditional "home" feeling of Hertz internationally.
