Very easy and not too busy. Plenty of nice cars and easy and close to terminals. Returning the car needs to go around the airport but fairly straightforward.

Very good experience. I had a reservation, there was no line, spent 5 minutes at the counter and I was off to get my car. A short walk to the garage across the street and up the elevator. Again no line walked right up and I was in a car in 3 minutes later. Probably 15 total time from counter to in a vehicle. Vehicle was clean and ready to go. There are gas stations close to the rental return so you can fill up before you bring it back.

Perfect experience at Hertz. We had an online reservation. Our pickup was quite early. There was no queue. Spent 5 minutes checking in. The car pickup was just behind the Hertz office. Finished checking the car in 5 mins and we were away. Total time spent was 15 mins. They have options to return a full tank, use their fuel or return an empty tank with a $75 charge. It's better to refuel in one of the nearby petrol stations and return a full tank as the others are expensive.

It was fast and easy to get out vehicle. We had a choice between a camry or a charger. I hadn't driven the charger. It was fun to drive. The vehicle did have a hint of cigar smoke which bothered me the 3 days we had the car. I almost used fabreeze in it to get rid of it. I CAN'T stand the smell of cigars or pipes. It makes me feel sick and I was the driver.

Very convenient car rental location. You won't need a shuttle reach this place, it's simply across the road when you get out of the airport. Personally, I rent with Avis and with the preferred program, I can just lookup my spot number and just get into the car. No counter waiting time.
Returns are easy too (again, no shuttle needed) but it might be confusing to find the return if it's your first time.

Rent a car from FOX. The process was smooth and the staffs are very nice. The place for returning cars is easy to find and locate.

Fast and easy service
Not cheap, but convenient. If you are certain that you can handle traffic (won’t drive in the fast lane) and will not be on toll roads, then avoid paying $64 for unlimited tolls. Make certain your car insurance covers rental automobiles.

I had to drive up the ramp many times before I saw a sign for Alamo. I was almost afraid I wouldn't see one. The rental car drop-off was quick and easy, similar to other recent rental car drop-offs I've experienced, like at San Francisco International Airport. The staff here at SJC were polite and efficient.

I absolutely love that this is right across the street from the terminal. You just go up the elevator to the appropriate floor which matches your car rental company, get in your car and drive away.
This is the way that Seattle used to work before someone got the idea to put it a few miles away and run hundreds of buses back and forth every single day.
The setup will save you 30 to 35 minutes coming and going versus off-site schemes.
They're nice, clean, well lit restrooms on the first floor of the building as well as rental car counters. If you don't have an advanced reservation or need help.

New facility (2018?) that puts car rentals right at the terminal. Quick pick-up and drop-off. Love the efficiency and speed of the rental process. Certainly the rental company and their service can be different but the facility that houses them all is great.

Easy, smooth, in and out facility. Conveniently next to the second terminal (southwest airlines) at sjc.

The National Rental car should be applauded for their awesome customer service. One attendant went out of his way to find a car with a newer USB-C outlet. Will definitely rent from National again!

Smooth process, I am preferred status, however, I chose the long line due to having to call in same day pickup so not sure if preferred was applied. It was text on phone notified where car was ready, did not see it. Love Avis! Great experience!

Really easy to get to, really easy to get out of, really easy to rent a car! What more could you want?
