Whilst in San Jose, en route to the Rose Garden, I stumbled upon Zanotto's Family Market. Surrounded by bustling energy, I sought vegan cheese but found vegan cupcakes and snacks, a delightful twist of vegan sandwich craving events. Despite the weekday crowd, the market exuded warmth. Outdoor patio seating offered a tranquil retreat. Amidst the hubbub, I realized the beauty of seizing unexpected joys—a lesson in embracing life's delightful journey.

Zanotto’s is my go to for amazing European style deli sandwiches, soups and delicious treats. High quality food at deli counter prices. They have outdoor seating so you can enjoy a break while eating your yummy food. The staff is friendly and most orders are made when you order it.

Baked treats and desserts are no disappointment! I love bringing my little one here to ogle over the decorated cookies in the display fridge.

If you’re in the Rose Garden neighborhood or near Westfield Valley Fair and Santana Row and want something more authentic and low key, it’s worth the 5-10 minute drive!

Down in San Jose for a BoD meeting for a Pollywog Thinktank Conference with the Waddle Doodlers and they've got their sights set on finally proving one thing, ....Pollywaddle Doodle all day, fact or fiction. The leader of this rogue band is Whippet Creamspreader, a man about town and Bon Vivant, he comes from the best part of Hagger's Mill Oklahoma...and tells me the best place to get lunch is the Zanotto's Family Market, so off I went.
He was right, my sandwich was better than perfect...it was Amazing!

Our go-to place for the excellent sandwiches made to order. Dutch crunch bread is outstanding so check it out. They also have excellent paninis, salad bars, soup as well as some local goods.

Nice small market for a quick shopping trip if needed. Delicious sandwiches served in the back and on the side. Perfect place to go if you're doing a picnic. Highly suggest grabbing food from here and relaxing in the rose garden down the steeet.

This family market has lots of vl unique European treats like French butter, Italian pasta, and artisan chocolate. The staff is very friendly. Cons: high prices and tight parking spaces. But shopping is a pleasant experience and parking is ample.

Delicious sandwiches, everything is tad bit expensive. We like to go here for gourmet stuff. Huge selection of pasta too

Delicious deli and bakery food. Awesome produce. Yum! Sushi, too. Marianne's ice cream so smooth and fresh. I like to get the double meat tri-tip BBQ for guests to come to the house to help me for the lunch. One person said that the ambrosia salad was awesome on the brown bag lunch and the sandwich was really good. I appreciate how hard the ladies and everyone works at the deli to get our lunches quickly.

If you love sandwiches, as I do, this is the place to go. Possibly the best sandwich in San Jose. I will absolutely be coming back. This is the ultimate guide for the first timers:

Walk in, go straight to the back of aisle 1. You’ll find a tiny writing stand in front of the deli. Pick a white sheet (just a sando) or brown sheet (sando, drink, chips/salad, and cookie). Sandwich is the same size either way and they are HUGE. Choose exactly how you want it made. When in doubt, choose a premium sandwich. Then just drop it on the deli counter and wait for your name to be called.

If you go brown bag, drinks are in the refrigerator right next to the deli (kerns, coke, sprite, la croix, water). Chips are all along the bottom of the deli (voodoo, dirty, kettle, doritos). Cookie is delicious.

Pay at the cash register. There is patio seating beyond that. Great price for the size of the sandwich. Plus a good all around grocery store.

Great produce and quality meats. The selection is great and has 5hings you might not find at more popular retailers.

Sandwich bar was bomb. Cool local grocery store other than a congregation of on-duty cops loitering and eating for over an hour, wasting our tax dollars. A C A B

Tremendous deli. The Tuscan club might be one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. Great market too; fun place to explore.

The place is big and versatile compared to another non-department grocery.

If you're looking for an outstanding deli sandwich, it's hard to beat this place. In terms of quality, portion size, and value they check all of the boxes. If bologna is your thing, their German bologna is excellent. Shout out to the smoked cheddar as well.
