Auntie's Bookstore

My favorite bookstore in Spokane. Always fun to go to and read the book reviews from staff nestled in the shelves.
There are multiple floors, as far as I know there is no elevator (only stairs). Bottom floor is accessible, a wheelchair can fit through book rows but you will probably need to back out backwards instead of turning around as it is tight.
There is also a cute gift shop area.

Terrific Children's department! Great selection of calendars, note cards, stationary and unique gifts.

A solid local bookstore, with helpful and funny staff. I left my phone here one time and they locked it up in their safe until I could come get it. They were also willing to check their backroom for a book a desperately wanted and they were able to snag me a copy.

What an amazing bookstore. As a flight attendant, I know how rare bookstores are becoming. Aunties had an amazing selection from kids to adults and the staff was very informative. It was pretty busy inside as it should have been. A great location

I love Auntie's Bookstore! The selection is always great! Anything that they don't have, can most likely be ordered, as long as you don't mind the ten day (give or take,) wait! It's a great option if you're of the mind to support local business! Also! Tucked away inside, is Uncle's Games! And they have a nice little selection of related items as well!

Awesome indie bookstore that stocks books for a wide variety of reads. Aunties goes beyond the national chain bookstores... yes, you can get the latest best sellers here, but they also carry lesser known gems as well. Great selection of gifts and merchandise as well as books. This store is like the Lays potato chip of bookstores: bet you can't buy just one!

Good selection of books that has a good game section, arts and crafts, and children's books. I liked that they had a rack of books that were identified as banned books that the bookstore was selling. I was shocked to see some classics that are banned. This motivated me to buy one of them (To Kill A Mockingbird). I definitely support independent bookstores such as this one.

Such a fun and welcoming space. I love the staff picks, the emphasis to read books from minority groups, and the encouragement to read banned books. It’s my fav small book store!

The very best bookstore ever (well, it ties with Powell's in Portland)! The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, the selection is fabulous, and they'll order anything they don't have in stock. There are frequent book readings and signings. They carry used books but they are very picky about the ones they accept. I frequently can't tell the difference between the new and used. It's simply a wonderful bookstore experience.

Have lived in Spokane several years now and I simply love this store. Always welcoming, organized and helpful. Whenever we have friends or family visiting from out of town we make sure to make a stop here. Everyone always loves it.

Great bookstore in downtown Spokane. Well organized book shelves, several attached eclectic stores, and Uncle's Game Store. Easy to spend an hour or more browsing there.

As bookstores becoming more and more rare finds, Auntie’s bookstore is a must visit place in Spokane. Touching and reading a few pages if a book before you buy it is an experience that we are slowly losing. They have a large selection of books and different genres. The staff is so knowledgable, friendly and helpful. The books are organized very well, shelves are clearly marked. They have different books already selected and displayed. Their children section delights any child. The teen section has books that are hard to find. There are also card games right next door at Uncle’s. The bookstore is connected to a gift shop where you can find unique gift items hand made by local artists. Anytime we are in the area, auntie’s is at the top of list of places to see. The only thing missing in this bookstore or right next to it is a coffeeshop with big chairs to sit and enjoy the book you just picked up.

We love Auntie's! Every time we're in town, we make sure to stop in and browse the books, check the employee recommendations, and duck into Uncle's to check out the games. What a great corner in Spokane!!

We were walking by and were intrigued... what a cool store! There's a lot of books and gifts here and just a lot of interesting things.

First time visiting this amazing book store! Had 1 of the books I was looking for! My first visit to Spokane Wa as well. Will definitely stop in again when down there visiting again!

One of my favorite bookstores in the country. If you’re ever in Spokane, you have to check it out. Great selection of new and used books. The staff picks are top notch.

Aunties is a Spokane tradition. All of my kids and grandkids love shopping there.

Really great bookstore where you can find just about anything reading wise.
I purchased a magazine for my flight home and the girls purchased some baby items and other books.
There is a unique art store in the corner as well as the baby book store with toys in another.
I had to get a sticker of course and there are tees and hats available as well.
Really cool place to visit.

Possibly my favorite place in Spokane. I love a bookstore and consider Auntie's to be a Spokane treasure. The staff are friendly and helpful. The book selection is great as they sell used as well as new books. They have a children's section, a magazine section and an upstairs that I haven't explored yet as my hands are always full from the main floor. I will get up there one of these days. This last visit I purchased kid's books, kid's art supplies, classics both used and new, science, nature and a fashion coloring book. Also stickers such as "Reading is Magical", and it Princess Bride tee shirt. 💕 Auntie's.
