City Light Bible Church

My wife and I have been attending City Light Bible Church now for over a year and a half. We love Pastor Chris' preaching because he is always teaching the point of a passage from the Bible in such a way the passage is the point, and not just a starting point. As an older couple in a younger growing church, we enjoy a warm and energetic fellowship across the generations, especially in the Small Groups. Similar with the teaching, the worship is centered on worshipful praise to God through wonderful (highly skilled) music and songs that are grounded in truths from scripture. It is a delight to have fellowship in a welcoming environment where visitors are met and enjoyed and where you're missed if you’ve been gone for a spell. Finally, it's sweet to see a vibrant children's ministry and see the little ones playing with each other in the courtyard.

City Light is a great church! The leaders are so caring and loving, and the members within the church are the same as well. The preaching is clear and accurate, and I’m so grateful to have found a new church home. There are so many ways to get plugged into the church, through small groups, young adults, casual hangouts, and women’s/men’s ministries. The church has so much love to give, and I’m beyond blessed to be able to receive this kind of love.

City Light is an amazing church! From engaging small groups to convicting sermons based on the Word, I’ve loved my time with this church. This church is a group of people that you can tell love each other and desire to see each other grow. Definitely come by if you are looking for a church in the Bay Area!

City Light Bible Church is an amazing church. The preaching here never ceases to be amazing, as it comes straight from the word of God. The leaders here really love all of the people that walk through the doors! Never have I felt more welcomed by people I have never met before! The people who help serve so faithfully and you can tell there's something different about this church!

I've been super blessed attending City Light the past year since graduating college. Preaching is clear and from God's Word. Mid-week activities such as small groups and young adult group help encourage time for fellowship and studying the Bible more in-depth. Everyone including our Pastor is very approachable and you can really feel God's love through people's care for one another.

I recently moved to the Bay Area after college and found City Light along the way. As someone who had stopped regularly attending a local church for a season in my life, I can tell you that this church makes good on its mission to reach the “un-churched” and “de-churched.” Albeit a church plant, City Light has cultivated an environment that even many established churches are missing. The combination of verse-by-verse Biblical teaching, yet without personal opinions or agenda, and very intentional community is unparalleled compared to my past experiences with church. From small groups and young adults to volleyball and softball leagues to lunch groups and “Dinner for 8,” City Light provides so many opportunities for you to find your community without having to go out of your way.

If you want a church that seeks to teach truth from the Bible, is led by amazing elders, loves and welcomes all, City Light is the place to be!! I love this church and it is such a blessing to be somewhere that strives to spread the good news to the community of Santa Clara and love and pursue Jesus together!!

An immediately welcoming and inviting environment. The people are friendly and warm, making it very easy to meet new people and get plugged in. The teaching is engaging, easy to follow, and immediately applicable.

My wife and I are blessed to attend City Light Bible Church! This church was planted by Hillside Church to reach out to the community in Santa Clara, and opened its doors in September 2022. The sermons are focused on teaching the truths of the Bible clearly and applicably, and the people here are very welcoming! CLBC has been a truly amazing Christ-exalting church plant, that faithfully preaches God’s Word, proclaims the Gospel, edifies the saints and gives all it has for the lost in the Santa Clara community. Not to mention the outpouring love all have shown to strangers, and have served one another through highs and lows in our lives. They have powerful, inspiring, biblical-grounded, expository sermons each week that will be made available on Apple Podcasts and Spotify. I am so beyond thankful and blessed that I got to grow so much at City Light Bible Church!
