Without a prior appointment you can just get in line marked with arrows on right as soon as you enter. Fill out a form that you get from one of the frist two windows. Go back to them and they give you a token number.

Santa Clara county recorder’s office has moved to new location.

Service is as good as before from old building.

Impressed by the service, courtesy and speed. The clerk-recorders office is very friendly and efficient. There are people to help you with self service items and certified copies are available while you wait (for not very long).
Aside from that check out the county building, they have a ton of cool art and exhibits. Today was Lunar New Year 2019 and is the Year of the Pig. They have some really cool pig drawings made by school kids.
This is probably the richest county in California, if not the whole US.

Came Thursday afternoon for a birth certificate after 2:30 pm and was back in my vehicle 20 minutes later! What impeccable customer service. Employees are so nice and helpful. Thank you county of Santa Clara for making this so easy. Wish the dmv was as efficient. Great job

My visit to this office went very quickly and smoothly. From parking to driving away it was 30 minutes. I had to fill out the form for a copy of my marriage certificate, but there was just a short line to check in, and then about five minutes to wait for my number to be called. There is public parking in the lot accessible from San Pedro Street. I thought it was just employee parking (from my Google Satellite research) so I parked on the street and was lucky to have a meter with time left on it. But upon walking back to my car, I saw that the left side of the parking lot has Public Parking signs, and it is the other half of the lot that says No Public Parking. There were several spots open at noon on Friday. It was a very easy trip to manage, and worth it so that I could get my document immediately.

The receptionist was extremely friendly and helpful. The process for obtaining the copy of the document I needed was very easy.

Excellent service.

I went there for a Birth certificate for my newborn. I did not have an appointment. Current appointments are 2 months out in the future. Certificates are ready within 4-6 weeks of the event. Do call the office before your visit to know if the certificates are ready.

Service: Excellent. I visited the office on a Friday afternoon. I had to wait 15 minutes for my appointment. I was in and out of the building in 30 minutes.

Parking: There is plenty of street parking around the building.

I have had a super experience here. Would recommend to go early. I reached 5-10 minutes before office opens and was out at 8:10, some of free parkings were still available which is free for 2 hours. You have to enter N San Padro St to enter in parking. Street Parkings are also available which starts charging after 9. Staffs at office were helpful.

Got my marriage license and ceremony here. Staff are very friendly and helpful and building is very nice.

There is free 2 hr public parking in front of the building.

2. Quick
I came to get a birth certificate. I was in and out in 30 min with no appointment. You can make an appointment online, but the earliest one I found is 3 months ahead. I called earlier and the person on the phone suggested coming early in the morning if you don't have an appointment. All I need to bring is my ID and payment. You can also call ahead of time to make sure the birth certificate is ready for pickup.

3. Staff
The people at check in, the window and the one I spoke on the phone are all friendly, patient and helpful.

4. Payment
They don't accept Apple pay or Google Pay yet, but you can pay by cash, check or credit card ($2.5 surcharge for credit card).

5. Amenities
Clean bathroom and water fountain on site.

I was in and out of the office in half an hour. I went there for my kids birth certificate. I went as walk in on Friday afternoon. Super efficient and quick.

Plenty of parking around the office. Carry necessary documents before going. Call before going to ensure the certificate is in for a new born.

I went there today to get a birth certificate for my 4 month old. Parking across the street is for county workers only with C permit. Valet parking no longer available as someone had mentioned. Parked at the shaded one hour parking spots next to the building. You can pay by credit card. I did not have the form filled but the entire process from entry to exit was about 35-40 minutes. I went at 12:30pm on a Tuesday after the Labor day weekend. Everyone was friendly.

Getting birth certificate .. I went in to get birth certificate for my newborn on a Friday morning and it was quick and super efficient without any wait time. Was quite surprised given there were no appointments until few months later.

I went last month here for a business purpose. I was pleasantly surprised to see a govt office this efficient and that during covid. The official, a nice lady (S. C.) helped me get through the process in no time and explained the next steps clearly; She was very pleasant to work with for any business, let alone a govt office.
I had the very opposite experience in social security a few months back so this experience was very pleasant and thank you!

Great experience! Staff were all very nice and friendly. Came for son’s birth certificate without appointment (1.5 months out online). In and out 70 mins. Bring your ID and check/cash.

Great customer service! Quick and efficient

I have been here for marriage services, marriage certificate copies and property deed copies. This office is a picture of friendliness and efficiency. I have never been kept waiting more than 5 minutes. The personnel are always helpful. I hope we pay these people well and continue appreciating a well-run organization! Great use of tax dollars!

Came in at 8am without apointment on a monday for birth certificate. Out in 19mins with cert in hand. Fast, efficient.
