This is a REAL no-frills bike shop. I brought my bike here to be looked at after a DIY repair gone wrong. I thought I had seriously messed up my derailleur, but Paul took one look at it and said he’d have it done in 20 minutes, for $15.

You wont find say, high end bike apparel or accessories here, but you will find parts bins, shelves of inexpensive accessories, GREAT labor prices, and a proprietor who knows his stuff. Paul is not only passionate about what he does, but happy to teach others how to do it, and for that reason he has my business. In an increasingly monopolized world, we need more businesses like Argonne Cycle.

A wonderful bike shop with great service of you can be a little patient. The owner will always do right by you and make sure you're satisfied..... within reason.

My ine complaint is that their hours are not accurate on google and not posted on the store because they change a lot. For example im posting this review at 11:50 am on a Tuesday and goggle says he should be open...... he's not.

I don't trust anyone else in town with my bike other then I have been getting my bike fixed with Paul for the past 15 years He's always friendly and does a fantastic job. You just have to be patient he is indeed only one man.

Had an awesome experience working with Paul. Found out that he was selling a bike I had been looking for, but I live on the other side of the state. With no hesitation, he found a way to get it shipped over to me and the bike arrived in great condition. Will definitely check out the shop next time I'm in the area.

I'm seeing some reviews on Argonne Cycle that just don't jive with my experience. If there ever was a Pain In The @** customer, it was me after I bought a KHS SixFifty 600.

First of all, when I bought the bike, Paul asked me if I owned a shock pump, since the bike has air forks. When I replied that I didn't, he pulled a shock pump off the shelf and handed it to me - NO CHARGE.

When the bike came in, I dropped by to pick it up and Paul had it on the stand finishing up fine adjustments. I took it for a test ride and everything was great. On my first ride, I noticed that the front brake (hydraulic disk) was a little squishy. I dropped by on my way home from Beacon Hill and Paul stopped what he was working on and bled the brakes - front and back - they've been solid ever since - NO CHARGE.

As the brakes broke in, the front disc was making all kinds of noise. I stopped by the shop and Paul stopped what he was doing, scuffed up the disk and pads, then repeated the break-in procedure - NO CHARGE. After a few rides the noise came back, he gave me a new set of brake pads - NO CHARGE. When the noise persisted, he gave me a new rotor which fixed the problem - again NO CHARGE!

After the way Paul put himself out to help me resolve the issues I had with my bike, I call baloney on some of the bad reviews posted here. Given their tone, I suspect they were written by the kind of people who feel powerful when they are yelling at minimum wage McDonald's employees. Act like a human and you get treated like a human...

When my son needed a better mountain bike, we went back to Argonne Cycle and were happy with that transaction as well.

This is the only bike shop that I know of that does not have a bunch of money to be worried about for overhead and monthly cost. This shop does not focus on marketing and media as much as others, so this gives the owner the Ability to keep costs and prices for customers as low as possible and giving him direct time and attention to speak with customers and resolve technical issues with your bikes!

Both of the gentle men have helped me multiple times. I don't know both of their names but one was named Joshua. Their repairs are fantastic and rather cheap, often times free. I would most certainly recommend them.
