Camarillo Flight Instruction

Took my first discovery flight here and had the best experience. From Mikey at the front desk, who made sure I had everything I needed for a successful flight, to my flight instructor Anthony who made me feel safe in the air and confident that learning to fly could become a reality. I continue to take my flight lessons here and the staff is absolutely wonderful. They truly put in the effort to help you be successful in your aviation journey! Would recommend 1000%

Can't say enough good things about the staff and CFI's at Camarillo Flight Instruction! Mikey at the Flight Desk stays pretty busy keeping things running smoothly, but never hesitates to take the time to explain the ins and outs of the school, training programs and aircraft scheduling to both current and prospective students. Jake (my CFI) has been incredibly flexible and generous with his time and scheduling, even flying twice a week at 6am with me in order to work through my Private Pilot training before work hours! Just did my first solo last week and can't wait to keep working through the rest of my PPL with these guys over the next few months! If you're looking for a flight school at Camarillo Airport without the off-putting and and sometimes intimidating pretentiousness of some of the other schools out there, drop into CFI and give these guys a shot...you won't regret it!

I obtained my PPL 10 years ago and then took a break to focus on family. I decided to get back into flying, but was nervous about the busy SOCAL airspace. Mikey, the officer manager, made me feel welcomed and helped me get started at CFI. All of the instructors are fantastic and helped me gain my confidence to fly again. Now I am working on my IFR rating with Anthony, who is a great instructor who is patient and focused on teaching you lifelong skills to keep you safe. I have been to many flight schools. CFI is one of the best operations I have experienced.

Great flight school! The staff is extremely friendly and are always willing to help. I have made significant progress flying with CFI over the last couple months and that is mainly due to the amazing instructors. The instructors are knowledgeable, patient, and most importantly keep you safe in the air. The instructors are truly invested in your progress and are not there to simply build hours, which can be hard to find. Always a pleasure to fly with CFI and get amazing views like these!

Absolutely loved my introduction to flying a private plane. My instructor was phenomenal and I am looking forward to officially beginning to work towards my PPL.

Just completed my PPL with Camarillo Flight Instruction. I really enjoyed working with all the team there. Mikey handles the desk like a pro and made sure I was always taken care of with my needs and schedule. Anthony, my CFI, was a great teacher, coach and sometime cheerleader through all the ups and downs of my learning. His personal investment in my success is a testament to his own passion for aviation. The rates are comparable, the maintenance and functionality of the airplanes and scheduling platform help keep things moving along to your goals!

Had my discovery flight yesterday with Anthony and it was one of the best experiences I’ve had in a long time! The facility is clean and the aircraft were well kept and the view from the plane is beautiful, I’d highly recommend to anyone considering training. Looking forward to flying with them again!

Completed my "Discovery Flight" with "Aidan". Aidan was easy going, knowledgeable and easy to understand his instruction. Great variety of planes to choose from. All were clean and well maintained. Had a blast and am looking forward to obtaining my PPL with this school!👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

I booked a discovery flight, my instructor Jake was extremely friendly and answered all my obnoxious questions. The flight could not have gone any better, flying over Ventura County on a beautiful day. I could not have asked for a better experience. Would highly recommend.

Update: Half way through my private pilot license, my instructor Micah is awesome! Extremely knowledgeable, highly skilled, patient, and understanding.
Office management is impeccable, Mikey running the front desk is incredibly helpful and accommodating. I'm able to book flights according to my schedule permitting an instructor and plane is available. Thank you CFI Camarillo for all your help!

Well, where do I begin? It starts with a discovery flight. A last minute decision to see if I like flying as much as I think I do. Spoiler alert, it's better than I expected! Especially over here at CFI. I've not met an unfriendly person here. From Mikey at the Front Desk, to all the instructors , they're all great. Airplanes are well kept, and CFI always does its best to ensure that you have an aircraft to train in.

Instructors are best in class. Willing to tailor themselves to your learning style(s), and always available for questions, even if you're the type to text them after hours (sorry everyone). They are super knowledgeable, and will absolutely see to it that you get to and pass your checkride.

I'd recommend CFI to anyone who'll listen! Discovery Flights, flight training, you name it! My father is looking to get back into it and I'm pushing him to come here as well. I can only give them five stars, but 10/10 would recommend.

I did my discovery flight at CFI back in May of 2021 and began my private pilot training in June of 2021. As far as flight schools go you cannot do much better than CFI.

1) the instructors are top notch and work with you to meet your goals at a pace that works best for you and in a way that will challenge you and empower you to meet those goals. Both CTI’s I have worked with (Khalid and Connor) have been excellent in terms of helping me develop my skills and furnishing me with resources for studying.

2) The fleet is honestly unmatched for what you pay for and what you get. All the aircraft have great avionics from steam gauges all the way to G1000 glass cockpits. The per hour price is fantastic and you would be hard-pressed to find comparable planes maintained as well as these rental prices.

3) Mikey in the office is excellent at helping schedule and manage student/instruct/aircraft schedules and not once have I ever felt like I was being pushed aside or ignored when I have emailed or called.

You have nothing to lose by starting your lessons at CFI and everything to gain. The instructors/aircraft/staff/prices/availability are all world class.

The discovery flight package is perfect for a 15th birthday. Though we were delayed twice for wind, the staff communicated well. The instructor made sure photos were taken. On the ground, staff introduced me to a web site that tracked the flight path which I photographed. Nothing could wipe the grin of my son's face after flying over our beaches and mountains, seeing a whale, and watching some locals fly in formation. Thanks for the best birthday ever!

I had an amazing experience at CFI with my instructor Khalid. He really helped me accomplish my aviation goals. If you’re looking for an amazing instructor that is professional, patient, knowledgeable, and accommodating, then Khalid is your guy. He was very personable and helped me obtain my private pilot’s license. I can’t wait to continue with my instrument training. Look no further than CFI for all your aviation training/rental needs.

CFI is the BEST flight school at Camarillo airport! Out of the 5 flight schools I have tried, CFI has the best customer service and the best planes by far. The instructors are super friendly and easy to get along with, the planes are well maintained, and the customer service from Mikey at the front desk is always fantastic! There have been a few times where a plane had to go into maintenance or I needed to make a quick switch, and Mikey was incredibly accommodating to these occasions, which is a level of customer service that I haven't found consistently at any other flight school in SoCal. I can't recommend CFI enough!

More than 6 months ago, I sporadically walked into the CFI office, full of questions and curiosities and Mikey was so warm, welcoming and patient with me. I immediately knew this was a place I was interested in taking flight lessons from. I recently did my discovery flight with Ben, he was patient, kind, answered all my questions, and took his time with me. I hope to continue in my pursuit of a PLP and I am looking forward to this incredible journey, having CFI walk alongside me.

Had a discovery flight this morning with Ben and it was amazing. He was calm, informative and made the experience super fun. I would highly recommend this company!!!

5/5 stars - An absolutely wonderful and transcendental first flight experience. All staff were incredibly professional and yet accommodating. Had my first lesson with Anthony and am looking forward to continuing lessons. A must-have life experience!

Just did my discovery flight and these guys were great! Everyone is very friendly and my instructor Anthony was very knowledgeable and even gave us a great landing to top it off!
