Black Bear Diner

This place serves you like a king!!! The portion size for one person is easily enough for two. The food is delicious and perfectly seasoned. The atmosphere is really cool with lots of bear decorations and old pictures of mountain people working and camping out in the open. They also have a little sure with bear plushies and other little knick knacks. And don't forget to get dessert, my favorite is the banana cream pie!!! Make sure you come hungry and you will leave happy.

The green chilequilles so good. Best BBQ sauce and Ranch sauce, crispy fries, the volcano is huge. Their biscuits with gravy take me home. I am missing a lot of my favorites, great place to take the family.

A friend invited me to black Bears, I ordered fish n chips. The fish was great, I would order it again. Only thing I must say they serve to much fries with this dish. Cool slaw was excellent.

Best dran breakfast we've had in California. We got the Griz breakfast with coffee. The portions size are so big and the food is tasty. Everthing on the menu sounds so good it was hard to make a decision. Definitely recommend any time of day. Friendly service and very affordable. We also got bear claws to go. One is berry filled and one is almond.

Passing through on our way to Yosemite, we stopped in because we saw the other good reviews online, and this place is the real deal. Home-cooked, tasty and delicious, large portions, fair prices. We enjoyed the decor, very much a bear themed restaurant. The chicken and waffles were delicious. Our waitress was friendly, and efficient. Would definitely come back here again.

Great place for breakfast big portions for a reasonable price. Definitely suggest the bears choice with either the blackberry stuffed French toast or the cinnamon French toast so delicious.

Maybe been to this location once the whole time I’ve lived here in Tulare County. This week we went twice, once for dinner and once for breakfast.

Shared a California burger for dinner with fries and side salad. They let you order the cooking temperature how you like it, which is nice. Very nicely prepared and service was pretty good.

For breakfast I was craving a waffle so we split a big papa breakfast with a waffle, eggs bacon and a chicken sausage. The waffle wasn’t made with waffle batter but more like a pancake batter. Wasn’t my favorite because I hate pancakes but still pretty good nonetheless. Everything else was cooked decently and service even though it was busy was exceptional. Not disappointed with this location.

This was my first time experience at a Black Bear establishment & I must say it was a great one. It wasn’t too busy so I got my food in a timely manner and had a great waitress that assisted me with my menu. Everything was huge portions & delicious

It’s hard to go wrong with this place! One thing about black bear is, they are constant! You can usually always depend on them having good food!!! Very good!!! The atmosphere is so welcoming and the bear theme is cool!! 🤙🤙🤙🤙

Very cozy atmosphere and friendly staff with fun themed environment make for good family fare or a spot to check out if traveling. Fair prices for the large portions served here. If you are looking for a quick lunch, best stick to other restaurants.

A special place for me and my brother. Times going to a Black Bear Diner growing up was always during a trip up north. We were excited to stop at one on our way to Yosemite. Obviously due to staff issues only half of restaurant was open, but service and food was fantastic! And with camping for a week we definitely treated ourselves…each having an omelette and splitting pancakes. Stop by at any location and enjoy

Debbie, our server was amazing. Even though the restaurant was super busy she took the time to check on us and everyone around us. All of the staff there is very nice and polite.

Always love to come eat here servers are always on top of things always clean overall great service! I recommend the wevos rancheros hit the spot!!!!

What a treat! Being from Southern California I do not get to go to Black Bear diner. So, when I am traveling this is my go-to restaurant for the best food and the best value! I love you man!

Our family LOVE Black Bear diner! Food is always delicious. Waitress was great! We were served very quickly. I would highly recommend this restaurant and we will definitely come back next time we're in Tulare.

Amazing!! After a long day hiking in sequoia, nothing beats trying a new restaurant and absolutely loving the food! The service is top notch, attentive and really kind. Food portions are BIG and worth the price. And it has a very reasonable price range too. Plus they have small size option too for popular plates in case you don't want to buy a huge portion and its also cheaper. The blackberry pie was really yummy, so I recommend you end your dinner with that. Definetly my new go to restaurant whenever I pass by this area!

Love the decor and the environment. Servers were very polite and attentive. We all were very full and content. The menu is a newspaper type which we ended up taking home (with permission) as a souvenir

The service here is usually really good. I’ve only had one issue with them all the times we’ve visited, and they were quick to resolve it. They have very Large portions, Which is great value for the prices! I highly recommend their Country Benedict. It’s a delicious twist on the typical Eggs Benedict! Instead of hollandaise sauce they use country gravy! It’s A Split English muffin, with chicken fried steak, two poached eggs and topped with their delicious country gravy!! Try it you won’t be sorry!!
