Zachari Dunes on Mandalay Beach, Curio Collection by Hilton

My family and I have been coming to this locations for years. But until the recent ownership change, we were never fully happy. Let me tell you, as Zachari Dunes, this locations has truly been elevated. The rooms have been beautifully updates (this is an all-suite property), the ocean views and proximity to the beach are still incredible, and there is so much to do for everyone. Our most recent visit was one with the kids. They loved playing in the game room, had the best time in the pool, did crafts and a freeze dance at the tennis courts, played basketball... you can rent video game consoles and Nintendo Switches, so if your kids simply NEED their game time, you can offer that. We dined at Ox & Ocean on property, as well as Sugar Beats.
We rented beach chairs, boogie boards, and bikes... there is no lack of fun to be had as a family.

Now, this locations is simply perfect for romantic getaways, and even girls trips. The spa is lovely, there is Yoga on the beach. There is just so much for whatever type of trip you desire. We absolutely love this as our getaway.

The rooms are spacious, the beds are comfortable, and the staff is very hospitable and friendly.

I love the extra large Jacuzzi and the beachfront access. They also have a lot of daily activities including some free beach rentals.

It's a great vibe here and I'm loving it 🥰

The only thing is to remember there's tar in these waters so be mindful of your feet and shoes getting dirty. The front desk gave me wipes that did the trick so that was super helpful!

I spent two days and a night here for a conference and had a great experience. Staff was super kind and my room was very comfortable, even offering 2 bathrooms! The location can't be beat and I enjoyed a chilly morning walk at the beach before my conference. Perfect way to start the day!

Quiet, relaxing, and exceptional hotel operation with superb grounds and amenities. I came in December, so things may have been a little quieter than usual, which I appreciated, but I'm sure even during high traffic times, there is ample space for all guests to spread out and find a quiet space to unwind in. The pool and jacuzzi are excellent. The beach access is effortless, and the surf is pretty good too. There are some things to do just outside the hotel grounds, but a lot (if not all) of what you need is otherwise right there at your fingertips. I highly recommend if visiting the area.

This hotel is seriously a best kept secret and I was surprised there were not more people staying here. We had a fantastic stay and would highly recommend this property to anyone. The location to the secluded beach, the view from the ocean view rooms, and the amenities truly made for a wonderful stay. So much so that we forgot to check out at 11 am, thinking it was a 12 pm checkout. Thank you for everything and we will definitely be back.

My reservation isn’t until this June, however, Ailani has already provided some of the best customer service I’ve experienced in a while. I called regarding the presidential suite and had very specific questions and she went above and beyond to get them answered. She even went as far as to ask for my number so that she could check with her manager snd call me back within the hour to verify that the information she was offering me was in fact what I needed in order to make an informed decision when booking my set of rooms. I am grateful for her patience and her cherry disposition and can’t wait to meet her this June. Good customer service is hard to find and I’m grateful when I get to encounter people who love hospitality and it shows.

I would give location a 10 star if I could. The food and service were nice. The rooms were okay. Mine smelled old, had to febreeze daily and wipe down ants in my bathroom. The carpet was kind of old. I did not get any Hilton gold perks like early check in and late check out. I was looking forward to that. With all of that being said, I will return. The food was pretty good. The activity rentals were convenient and the lobby was a nice place to relax in while waiting for my room to be ready. Just don't expect the rooms to be as nice as the lobby. This place is well worth your time and funds.

Beautiful hotel and really loved our visit! From checking in to checkout, everything was perfect. Excellent service, beautiful location, spacious rooms, everyone was so friendly. Can't recommend enough!

I just got back from a visit to Hilton’s Zachari Dunes on Mandalay Bay in Oxnard. I’d been before when it was an Embassy Suites, but this time it was totally updated with new furniture, food and services. My vacation was A+ and I can’t recommend it enough. First of all the location is truly magnificent!! The first day I walked about a mile down the beach and then explored the harbor/marina.The second day I went down the Pacific Coast Highway to Santa Monica. I love how it doesn’t feel commercial or touristy and the beach is pristine. The room was spacious and beautiful and had a balcony with a view of the ocean. It also had both a refrigerator and a microwave. I always check cleanliness first thing and I was totally satisfied with how clean it was. In the evening, at dusk, they light the fire pits and you can sit and watch the sun set. I absolutely can’t wait to go back!!

Incredible experience. Beautiful location. Excellent rooms. Massage by Jessica was superb. The Ox & Ocean restaurant was wonderful. I had swordfish one night, and duck the next. Aga was my waitress, and she was perfect.

A very nice place to stay with kids. They have a great restaurant on the property. The room is clean and comfortable. One downside was that we asked for a blanket for our kids at 11 pm and had to wait 1.5 hours for it. I called them three times. Self-parking is $36, and valet parking is $40. They only have two chargers for electric cars, so we didn't have a chance to charge our car.

Stayed over thanksgiving weekend, what a pleasant enjoyable resort we forgot for a minute where we were. The beach was completely private to guest when my daughter posted picture on their social media everyone assumed we were in Hawaii . The most beautiful resort in California.

Great find in Oxnard. Beautiful hotel on the beach. Great staff and excellent food at Ox and Ocean, this was the biggest surprise of all, the food here excellent. The rooms are spacious and clean, the only downside is their coffee is not the best, and could use a Starbucks. Other than that we’ll be coming back.

A legendary Hilton Hotel gets a well overdue makeover & hits a Home Run with this absolutely gorgeous remodel that will have you returning time & time again! In short it's Hawaii right here on California's Gold Coast with a wonderful staff of pleasant smiles offering you the best possible service/accommodations a tourist, traveler, visitor etc. can ask for! We highly recommend this beautiful resort hotel for your next vacation, wknd getaway etc.

While we only stayed here one night. The staff was super friendly and the food was delicious. Highly recommend getting the ham breakfast sandwich at the sugar beats air stream it was the best bfast sandwich I have had. Great location as well. Wish the parking was just included in the resort fee but I guess they have to nickel and dime you somewhere.

I absolutely love this place. I have been coming for years for work here in the area and it was great years ago when it was Mandalay Bay but the renovation and rebranding to Zacharia Dunes is outstanding! The rooms are phenomenal. There is not a bad room here and the staff and reno are top notch. If you get the chance, this is a "Must Stay" for the books! Love you all and thank you for making each stay memorable!!!!

Excellent resort! Beautiful rooms, excellent customer service ( Sheena was very kind and helpful checking us in) and a wonderful pool area! We will definitely be back! Hopefully sooner than later!

Excellent views, a walk to the sand. Beautiful, well manicured property with many, many amenities. Great restaurants on premises. Multiple places to hide away with a loved one. Romantic, thoughtfully designed spacious suites.

First off, this was the best place to stay for my short business trip. Perfect weather, clean beach and a room to match. I forgot I was on a work trip. My room had a view of the ocean which I took full advantage of. My patio was private and quiet. I loved the atmosphere of the entire hotel and the staff were kind and professional throughout my stay.
The restaurant on-site was good and they had delicious drinks to go with the menu. They have a outside and indoor bar too so you can either take advantage of the beautiful weather or stay inside to relax. The pool area was good, I didn’t take advantage of it but it was pretty to look at the waterfalls around it.
And did I mention that it’s literally next to the beach? Right there was a gate that opened up to this huge beach access. I noticed this hotel had rentals on site for those that want to rent bikes to ride on the bike path.
Overall, this place was very relaxing and I look forward to coming back again.

We had an incredible stay at Zachari Dunes to celebrate our babymoon! Sophia the manager was so accommodating, helpful, and went above and beyond to ensure we had an amazing stay. Great location, wonderful service and a beautiful room. We can’t wait to come back and enjoy again!
