La Dolce Vita

We recently went to La Dolce Vita for dinner and then found out about their cooking classes and took one in February. Loved the whole experience! Michelle (the owner) is wonderful and really cares about this place, she also teaches the cooking classes. The food is great, the staff really friendly, and the historic house is just gorgeous! I highly recommend this place. Extra shout out to Jared (in the 1901 bar downstairs) for telling us about the history of the place and for making me an absolutely delicious non-alcoholic drink (I'm pregnant) :) Their wine list is quite fab too (they have Gainey Merlot!).

Great food in an amazing location! My wife had the lasagna and I had blackened salmon. Both were delicious! The outdoor patio is a beautiful area overlooking the square. Marie E provided excellent service even though it was a busy evening with a concert in the square. Even though we couldn't see the stage from the patio, it was a perfect place to listen to the concert.

We enjoyed a wonderful dinner a few days before Christmas. It was a lovely setting, great service and delicious dinner. A perfect evening. The lasagna was amazing. The pasta noodle was delicate which I liked very much and plenty of meaty sauce. Highly recommend the food and ambiance. Sam our waiter was professional, friendly and excellent.

This place has great food and drinks. So their downstairs area is called 1901 speakeasy and it's my favorite place to have cocktails in Oxnard. Will is the best bartender!! He makes some of the best old fashions. I love their drinks and the Southside is good and many others. Hope this helps

What a wonderful restaurant, the food is really good. Is truly the place to have a home made meal.

Located in Heritage Square (a gem in downtown Oxnard), a beautiful Victorian House is the home of La Dolce Vita and the 1901 Speak Easy (bar/ lounge in the cellar). The food and service is excellent but the massive draw for me and my wife is the Speak Easy which specializes in Prohibition Era cocktails. Sam and Will are masters of their craft and I've tried cocktails I never imagined I would end up loving. I highly recommend the smoked Old Fashioned, the Statesmen, and the Negroni. They also have live music that is tasteful and you can enjoy it on a comfortable couch, sitting by a beautiful fireplace. We love this place!!

Love this place I I joyed it I say it is 20/10 because of the food and the service as well as the atmosphere it was outstanding

Hello my gentleman, if you want to impress a lady, have a fantastic time , have wonderful food, and finish off with great life music, then this is the place you should consider very much. Well my people hope it helps and God bless

Had a great night out here with friends. We had a great time talking with the new owner and the head waitress. Great report and a good time had by all. The food was terrific too, they had 7 specials and all four of us greatly enjoyed our meals. We are looking forward to many nights back here to go through the rest of the specials, not to mention the rest of the menu.

Nothing shy of perfection. From the bold savory, to the simple and full of taste. The chef is obviously on his or her A game, and shouldn’t be slept on. If you haven’t yet been, you are truly missing out on something special. I have been only a handful of times thus far, and I look forward to many more visits with everyone there that makes it happen. A big thank you for bringing something so charming and beyond palatable. 9.2/10

Everything we had was delicious. I can particularly recommend the Hemingway daiquiri, the potato gnocchi, and the flourless chocolate cake. Our server, Sam, was charming and delightful. They were out of the tiramisu so I guess we'll have to come back. Oh, darn!

This elegant restaurant is absolutely amazing just amazing. I got the sangria, not your average, way better! The New York steak day special topped with amazing onions and garlic with veggies and mashed potatoes was beyond elegant didn't even need salt or pepper the seasoning and way it was made was perfect. The alfredo with shrimp was delicious absolutely perfect made thick with no grease how it should be made and the shrimp was like chicken properly made and wonderful!!!! The ambiance here is by far the best. It's kinda like one of those movies that have a super pretty vintage themed bar that's it!!! My new favorite place!!!!! The service by Debbie was amazing!!! Debbie suggested everything we got and we are very thankful to have her as our server!!!

Had a wonderful experience here for a weekend Valentine date. The staff were so accommodating and really went out of their way to make sure we had a great time (providing us a table by the fireplace, constantly attending to us with water refills and checking in, adjusting lighting, putting a candle, etc). The little things that you appreciate and show that they go above and beyond. The house Merlot was very good and the food was spectacular. Pricing was certainly reasonable (definitely check out the BOGO Access card deal) and portion size (something nicer restaurants like this tend to cut back on) was more than generous. From the salad to the salmon to the vegetable ravioli, all was cooked to perfection and we were certainly stuffed by the end. Our waiter, Joseph, was knowledgeable and very friendly, and the host/busser? (Whose name I unfortunately never got) was very attentive and helpful. Great service, generous and yummy food. And be sure to check out the speakeasy style bar (1901 is the name) downstairs for frequent live music, fun atmosphere, and affordable but plenty strong cocktails and other drinks! Will definitely be coming back.

This place is excellent. Feels like a blast from the past. We went here on a date a few weekends back to the 1901 bar underground. Some awesome craft cocktails, prohibition era ambiance, and the live entertainment (Rat Pack Ricky Medlin) was spectacular. Pasta was delicious and the no flour chocolate cake was a must have. Come by here to have a fun time tripping through time.

I look forward to returning to enjoy another delicious menu choice.

I recently had my wedding reception in their upstairs rooms. I LOVED IT. The owner was so wonderfully accommodating, the setting was beautiful, and the food was GREAT! Much better than more wedding fare! Michelle went above and beyond my expectations and I am extremely grateful. An added bonus: it was extremely affordable. I highly recommend La Dolce Vita to anyone who is having a smaller wedding (40-80 people) on their upper floor. If you are having a larger wedding, use their beautiful courtyard! You will not regret it!

Love this place. Food is great and nice wine list too. if it's your first time, try the onion chowder soup. Unique and very tasty way to start your meal. You can have same menu downstairs in the lounge... But I prefer upstairs (inside or outside) in this unique building

They were very accommodating for our kids. They made the gnocchi with only chicken and Alfredo sauce for my daughter. The pumpkin ravioli appetizer was absolutely delicious. The kids all loved their food off of the kids menu. The food came out fast and hot and everything was very good.

Wonderful time! The waiter was fabulous (Talking about you Daltom!), the food was delicious, and wine recommendations were very helpful! I choose to sit upstairs but next time I'll definitely be on the balcony. Loved it!
