C J's BBQ

I've been coming here for years and the food is consistently excellent. The BBQ has that "bark" that you only get from long hours in the smoker but is tender and succulent at the same time.

They also make good sandwiches (try the Philly cheese steak) and burgers (the BBQ burger w/avocado is my favorite). And they have a surprisingly good selection of fish dishes too including a seafood gumbo that is excellent.

Outdoor dining at picnic tables or take-away are your only options. They closed their indoor dining room during the pandemic and remodeled to expand the kitchen instead.

Stopped by for some dinner. Some friends invited us out for. I was pleasantly surprised. The food is really good. Smoked but not over done. I had the tri-tip with the homemade pies they make on location. Creatively decorated. Nice family feel. Good quality food. Highly Recommend.

This place is good. But the only problem is that they cut restaurant into a pick up instead of a family restaurant. They were doing good at first. SMH

Same great food and service that we've come to expect. We first started ordering from CJ's when they were in Ventura, and drive to their current location from Camarillo.

Ahhh, finally a place that has Beef Ribs!! I got the combo with Hot Links and Beef Ribs and CJ brought it out to me and we had a chat about BBQ. I can't wait to come back here and try other. CJs a cool dude and makes some damn good BBQ. Five stars all the way!!!!!!

The crispiness and perfectly fried deliciousness of this food will blow your mind!!! I finished a whole 1lb probably more of food... I will come here every week 🙏🏾👌🏾

This place is AWESOME!! Love the food here. I had the "meat only " sampler - pulled pork, tri-tip, and beef ribs. I also tried the bbq beans, sweet corn, and added some fries. I tried their four sauces and there is something there for everyone's tastes. It is all great!!

They have a great menu and I am looking forward to making my way through it all.

Was out in Ventura and found this lol place call CJ's BBQ. I had the Tri-tip and it was delicious and the potato salad and the bbq beans went perfect with my Tri-tip. Will be back when I'm in the area.

I visited CJ's after not visiting for years (I don't live in the area). I was very happy to see they were still in business and survived the pandemic. It was every bit as delicious as I remember. They make a mean tri-tip sandwich. Incredibly friendly service. They previously had indoor seating (5+ years ago) but they have expanded their kitchen area and there is outdoor seating only. This is actually more enjoyable due to the beautiful weather and proximity to the local airport (if you're into watching planes). Will continue to recommend to anyone!

Heard about this place came from Santa Barbara it's a hidden gem in Oxnard food was absolutely amazing. Miss Octavia that helped us was very nice. I think that's her name also chef's cooking in the back were on point they recommended some items for me everything was delicious. Had to drive back to Santa Barbara with the food in the car the smells were almost mesmerizing couldn't wait to get home to eat so we pulled over on Highway One a little past Ventura and had a great meal watching the sunset right up on the beach!!!! True southern flavor!

The best Barbecue place in town!!! Price is reasonable.

Absolutely love the food here at CJ's barbeque. The food is delicious, but my favorite dish of all time is the sweet potato pie. They have also expanded the facility. Everyone should visit and try out the tri tip, mac and cheese, and potato salad. Thank me later.

Good food and friendly service. Unsauced 3 meat platter I didn't take a photo of the 2 meat dinner with a double side of greens.

Love the spicy sauce from here. The Tri-Tip sandwich is my go-to. Nice light smokey flavor, lightly grilled bread, can't go wrong.
They take their time and get things right, well worth the small wait. If you're in a hurry be sure to call ahead.
They have stickers to place safe standing distances and have a good setup to keep things as safe and clean as one would assume reasonable.

The pulled pork was pretty good the tri tip was real good and the beef ribs were fantastic. The chicken wings had a baked feel to them while the bourbon st sauce was very tasty. All in all it was a great experience made me feel like I was back home in Georgia.
