Just had my first EEG since I was a kid. To start, this location on Google Maps is inaccurate. The building pinpointed here is the main hospital. The Epilepsy Center is in the Central Tower, located in the Doctors' Building. It's south of the bus stop, not north. Anyways. Not Providence's fault.

Nicole was my EEG tech, and she was an absolute delight. Very personable, quite fun, open, and an all-around pleasure. For anyone who has not had an EEG, they're more inconvenient/annoying that uncomfortable. Seriously. But this is the test, and it's more important to get results than not! That being said, I forgot how disorienting the strobe light actually is. Definitely my least favorite part of the test.

Still, Nicole put up with my sarcasm and jokes and really made this experience about 100% more tolerable. And it was only about 45 minutes from prep to finish. Quiet, calming music, a dark room, a blanket if you want, and a nice warm washcloth to clean your hair is all part of the test.

I highly recommend Spokane Epilepsy Center, and Nicole in particular, if you ever need an EEG. I'd begrudgingly go back, but only because it really is annoying test. Lol. The staff are awesome. :)

Amazing people

I was a patient of Providence Epilepsy Center for 18 years, supposedly a patient of Timothy Powell even though I only saw him a hand full of times and being handed off to other nurse practitioners most of the time. Today they dropped me as a patient....after 18 years of doing nothing for me, but writing prescriptions. But that's okay, now I don't have to deal with the rude lady at the front desk or a doctor that's there just for a paycheck. Dr. Powell you talk yourself up like you're the second coming of Christ, please get a reality check.
