The rental was a Toyota hybrid. The Sienna was top of the line with all the trimmings. I needed extra help trying to start the vehicle but the saleslady quickly helped me out. Customer satisfaction.

I came to this company very cautious from all of the negative reviews. On arrival I was met by Marcus I believe his name was and he was very helpful in getting us going. The part that impressed me the most is that usually when I rent a car I am handed a piece of paper to walk around with and inspect for dents or cracks and generally anything that looks out of the ordinary. However Marcus actually walked with me and pointed out those things that he knew were already there so that we were both in the same page before I left. I can see that despite the poor performance in the past they are making a very conscious effort to improve their customer service. I would rent from them again.

The set up here was very confusing, with front desks in two different buildings and one totally unmanned. It looked super sketchy, but once we figured out where we were supposed to be it was better. The price was really spendy, so I'd definitely recommend booking your car online before you arrive. I got a free upgrade to the car I asked for, though, and everything was above board. They will definitely try to talk up their insurance options, so check with your own insurance to see what they will cover to save yourself a pretty penny

THIS PLACE HATES VETERANS! I went to this Dollar Rental Store and not only did they say they don't give Veteran discounts which it clearly says online they do. They also went on to tell me that they give no other discounts. Then when the rude gentleman sitting in the chair in front of me says I've got some other ways I can offer you savings. He simply goes on to offer me overpriced insurance that I didn't need because I had full coverage so he is a liar and that place obviously hates veterans and I hope everyone avoids that place like the plague. Please do yourself a favor and stay out of there and avoid having your time and money waisted. I overheard the goofy looking one, "The Manager" with the brown hair and small hands saying horrible stuff about how big the gal who was in there before me was. Completely uncalled for and inappropriate considering that this Pretend Manager was walking around with a spare tire or two under his shirt.

Horrid experience. Rude management. Charged for a passenger window chip. I requested pictures Pictures were taken 2 hrs after I dropped the car off per the time stamp, I pointed that out and was still assessed a 90 dollar damage charge. There is no proof the chip was there when I dropped it off. Escalated to corporate and they did nothing. I do not recommend this location or this business. They are running a scam and I'll be going to BBB. Buyer beware as many car rental companies have adopted the practice of adding scam charges to increase their bottom line after Covid-19 losses.

I would give this place zero stars if I could. The employee at the desk tried to bully me into upgrading cars and lied to me about adding insurance.

To start the conversation off, he belittled my choice of car. I was renting a compact. If I'm at a place called "Dollar Rental" it should be pretty obvious that I'm there to save some money. What kind of a sad human being is such a judgmental troglodyte over any car choice, let alone a rental car? (I'm guessing someone who gets paid commission on upgrades...) Aside from that, why does Dollar have this car available if its as terrible as this employee made it out to be? He brought up my choice of car several times before the conversation was over.

Going through the insurance part of the conversation he didn't offer me the choice of declining coverage. He gave me only two choices, basic or premium. Both of which I had already declined when I reserved the car online. This sales tactic is straight up lying to customers. When I told him I wanted the "least expensive option available" he tried to sign me up for basic coverage, which again, is a really despicable sales tactic. When I corrected him again and told him that I wanted to decline coverage all together he, again, lied and told me that my own insurance coverage will not cover rentals in WA (which is incorrect, consult your own insurance company, as this will vary based on policy). When I insisted on declining coverage he was visibly angry.

In the end the car was fine for the few days I had to drive it. I will avoid renting from Dollar rental in the future, and I hope this particular employee's life is as miserable as my interaction with him.

I rented a car from this location and after returning it received a phone call that I owed them $379.75 for "pet damage". When I was able to prove I didn't have a pet with me (I was at training for work and stayed at a conference center with no pets allowed), the guy said it didn't matter if I didn't have a pet, there was hair on the floorboards and therefore they had to treat the car for allergens. I transported boxes from a friend's garage back to my home in the back seat and back floorboards of the rental car - which could have conceivably had hair, hay and dirt on the bottom of the boxes (horse hay stored in the garage) but the car was not exceptionally dirty and I didn't think twice about leaving it without taking it to be vacuumed before returning it. They didn't take any pictures of the supposed 'damage' but I have no repercussions - it's their word against mine.

I just picked up a car from the Dollar car rental at the airport in Spokane. The guy behind the counter was rude, the car is filthy with dents and scratches all over it, and now that I’m in Coeur d’Alene, I go to back up and find that the rear camera is broken!! The ONLY part of this experience that has been positive is the nice car attendant in the parking lot.

I went to the dollar rent a car inside Bernie's today and was treated horribly by the representative named Joseph. He was rude and very unhelpful when I had questions about how the services work. He would give me short answers that I didn't understand and me even being there seemed like a really big hassle to him. I will never return and I will be telling everyone I know to not frequent this location. Save yourself the hassle, dont shop here for a rental car unless you like to be talked down to and not cared about as a customer at all!

If I could give less then one star I would.

Set up a rental for my stepfather online via the Orbitz app. I chose to rent outside the airport so he would not have to pay the in-airport pick up fee.

I arranged a driver to pick him up from the airport and take him to the Sprague location.

He was greeted by a very rude, possibly racist gentleman (No that's to fancy of a word, let's just say whatever the level of below human is)

He went to pick up his car from this #$@ and went over the paper work, the booking was $1 more then the quote, no big deal, however since my father brought this up the guy said, "Well if you want a discount you gotta go back to the airport."

Ummmm, excuse me? Have you ever heard of customer service? You are representing Dollar Rental as a company. Even if you can't knock off that dollar, there are far better ways to explain it.

I can rant on further of how he treated my father, but I'm sure you get the idea of how terrible he continued to be derogatory to my father. (Who also happens to be visiting from another country and English doesn't happen to be his first language, but speaks as proficiently as possible)

Then upon return of the car the guy was adamant about my father smoking in the car. Well, that's fine, if my father smoked. And the guy generously tacked on a $250 cleaning charge.

I am appalled by this customer service. I advise no one rent from this place, and I sure as heck won't.

6-1/2 hr. wait in Phoenix to get a car. Dollar counter closed, referred to Thrifty. Over 300 people in line at 1:30pm. Got our car at 8pm. Two people working when we got to the counter. Horrible that Dollar (and Thrifty) would put anyone through that, especially young families with small children.

Horrible! Reserved a car. Went to pick it up and was told since we do not have full coverage car insurance that they will not rent to us. WE DO HAVE FULL COVERAGE! The girl would not help us and we had to go else where and pay twice as much. Save yourself the hassel and go somewhere else!
