Dr. Pfaff is an excellent and very caring vet that loves the furry noodle, AKA ferret. She's knowledgeable about the ills they can go through, and will put her all into saving their lives. Thank you Dr. Pfaff for helping Babygirl, and for trying to help my Bella.

Absolutely love Critter Care. Rock star staff. Dr. Liza is the most compassionate understanding vet/person I've had the pleasure of meeting. I trust this office with all my pets. They have extensive knowledge for exotic animals, pretty sure ferrets are their favorite. 😉

The staff is very friendly and professional, and always put the animals' well being first.

My baby boa constrictor was starting to show symptoms of an upper respiratory infection, so I sent in an email. They gave me a call back very promptly and were able to schedule me for an appointment the next day.

They weighed and examined her, and they double checked that my snake was kept in the proper conditions and had everything she needed. They explained the possible causes of her condition and cautioned me to quarantine her from my other snake. They rinsed her mouth out and gave her an injection of antibiotics, and made sure to explain what to do step-by-step before sending me home with more to give her at set intervals at home.

The cost of the vet visit wasn't cheap, of course, but it was so much less than I feared it would cost.

It was a Friday, so the results of the viral testing wouldn't be available for several days, but they checked in on us in the meantime to make sure she was improving. Dr. Pfaff kept in contact with me via email to continue clarifying some of the advice she'd given me during the appointment.

My boa is improving quite a lot, and I'm really glad I chose this vet for my snakes!

Dr. Liza and her staff are patient and kind. My 3 guinea pigs have become regulars at Critter Care. Dr. Liza is so good at going through everything to make sure I understand what’s going on. I know how busy the vet gets, and they never rush me out! My guinea pigs and I feel valued and treasured at Critter Care. I always recommend people here! Best staff and vet! Thanks for your hard work and dedication to animals- it shows! ❤

We had to put our beloved dog to sleep as she was very sick. Dr. Lisa and her staff made a difficult experience as comfortable and easy as possible for both us and our dog. The people here are very compassionate and empathetic and they really love animals. We look forward to working with Critter Care again when we get a new dog.

Holy cow, what a difference this vet makes! I came from Mississippi, where my ferrets and cats had been treated for years, and I was apprehensive about finding a new vet. This team was absolutely extraordinary. Their policies made my babies feel welcome from the beginning. My animals were able to run around and play with the toys, enjoy treats and explore the room. It made such a difference when the vet came in to perform her exams. I also felt like the vet spent more than enough time with me - not like she was rushing to get to the next patient. I cannot express how impressed I am with my experience. I'd give them 10 stars if I could. THANK YOU!

Dr. Liza and her team have been great. My Cooper has severe anxiety and fear aggression and they have all been great to make our experience the best it could be. She and her team work well together and care about you. The level of care they provide is wonderful and affordable and sets the bar high for other vet practices. I would recommend her to everyone.

I followed Liza from the last Veterinary Hospital she worked at because she has been amazing with my cats. She is incredibly gentle and warm with her patients and kind and honest with those patients 'parents'. Between my mother, grandmother, and sister we've trusted her with 6 dogs and 2 cats, and she's never let that trust down.
Critter Care's staff has been welcoming, understanding, helpful, and empathetic at every one of my families visits. If you're looking for a Veterinarian that is truly passionate about animals health and comfort, I can't recommend Liza enough.

What can I say, they are GREAT here. We took in our two sugar gliders to get neutered. I was very scared and nervous because of a bad experience at a different veterinary clinic. Therefore, I had so many questions. However, Dr. Pfaff was extremely nice and answered all my questions and was very patient with me.
Also, Dr. Nabilla was amazing with my babies! She was also, very patient with my questions , she made me feel very confident in the procedure. She was great to my babies and this is definitely my new place to take my gliders ! If you have sugar gliders , this is the place for you! They’re very knowledgeable with gliders and so good at what they do! Thank you very much.

This is the best veterinary hospital around. We have followed Dr. Liza to this clinic she opened, from our previous vet of 9 years, because she truly is the best there is.

I can give you countless examples of how Dr. Liza and the Critter Care Staff are the best around, but here are just a few:

1. They are truly compassionate humans, that have a serious love for animals.

2. They take the time to talk you through recommendations, animal care, and your particular pets needs.

3. Critter Care is a Fear Free establishment and all of the staff have been trained on Fear Free care. This means that for my anxious pets, they make sure they are not fearful of the clinic or staff, and they treat them like their own pets.

4. Dr. Liza is brilliant, and keeps up on the scientific changes and advances happening in veterinary care. When my bulldog had a very specific type of mammary cancer, she walked us through how the surgical recommendations had recently changed, and how to best proceed.

5. They have saved our pets lives, and have increased quality of life for our aging animals as well.

6. We get to know the vet techs as well - they are part of our family care, and are trusted as such!

Truly - we would follow Dr. Liza anywhere she goes. She’s saved our animals and given us precious time we may have otherwise lost. She’s seen our dogs, cats, chickens, and a slew of other animals. She’s been there for new pets, and also has helped us through saying goodbye.

Dr. Liza and team are everything you’d hope for in a veterinary clinic and team.

Thanks for all you do!!

Update March 2023: still the best place to take your ferrets. We'd been out of the ferret game for a couple years but recently adopted 3 rescues. We now live an hour away from Critter Care, but the drive is worth it. Everyone there knows how to gently care for and distract ferrets during exams. They're up to date on all the best treatments and are very familiar with the many ferret ailments. Because we moved, we wanted a backup ferret vet nearer to us, and that was a mistake. The other ferret vet traumatized our ferrets and missed obvious issues. Critter Care will always be our go-to.

Original from 2018:
This is THE vet to go to. We had tried a lot of vets closer to us, but there always tended to be issues eventually, sending us back on the hunt for a great ferret vet. This is it. She's up-to-date in terms of best practices, and she's fear free! Our ferrets have been mistreated by past vets because they are "just animals," but it's different here. We got some bad news for one of our little fellas (that had been missed by another vet two weeks before), and they let us grieve, even though they had technically closed. They also sent us a condolences card when he passed. They've taken great care of our other ferret, and they've even answered questions over the phone. When we have emergencies, they have everything prepared before we get there. Really just couldn't ask for more from a vet. We'll be sticking with her for all of our future pets, even if it means we have to drive a little further.

The best vet and office staff ever! Dr. Liza and her staff deserve more than 5 stars - if you are looking for a new vet's office, this is the place to go. My poor pup needed to be seen quickly and they scheduled us on the same day, even as new patients. They are up front and knowledgeable about fees and provide options for treatment without any pressure. We've been to some of the larger "chain" vet offices and their prices were always way out of line with the services they provided (or didn't provide). Not so here - excellent vet, excellent staff and fair/honest pricing. I cannot recommend this office highly enough!

Dr. Liza and team are the best. Having experienced a vet like this I can't imagine going anywhere else. We take a cat and a service dog and really appreciate the care and thought that goes into not only the medical side, but making the whole experience as low stress as possible for all

I was able to get an appointment right away for my leopard gecko. :) The staff and doctor were so kind and took great care of her. I could tell they were very thorough with the exam as well. I will definitely be back - I'm probably going to take all of my pets here from now on.

Dr. Liza and her staff are amazing. They took really good care of my dog. The exam rooms looked like comfortable living rooms and procedures can be done in those rooms which really lessens animal anxiety. My dog was showered with treats and didn't even notice when he had to have his wound stapled.

Critter care has been affordable. Initially we took our ferrets in because our female was losing hair and she was lethargic and didn't look healthy. They recommended an implant to correct for adrenal disease. The implant made all the difference in the world. She has her fur back and now looks so much better!

I debated posting a review, always thought I didnt have much to share that people haven't already said. But I HAVE to say, if you have rats, and you're in Colorado, TAKE THEM HERE.

There have been countless other vets that make having rats around here difficult. They always disregard them due to their short lifespan, charge hundreds of dollars for hardly an exam, and/or only have appointments a month or more out. I've even had to wait in an exam for over 30 minutes after my appointment because the "other animals were a priority".

My appointment was a while ago, but Critter care not only got Frankie in fast, they treated him like he should be, as important as any other animal. They gave him treats, the medicine he needed, and ACTUALLY studied his behavior, that they described in detail over the phone (unsure what their regulations are now, but this was when they had to have people wait in the car while they took the animals in). They walked me through everything, had GREAT communication thats hard to come by these days.

The indescribable joy I got from finding a vet that was so compassionate, thorough, and even have a picture of a rat first thing when you open their website! Relief is an understatement, this place is a breath of fresh air. I will always bring my boys and every rat I have here from now on. And you should too!

The Veterinarian and her staff were awesome!! We have a 2 year old rat and they put us at ease right away, reassured us that she'd be ok and planned a course of treatment. Will definately continue to take our fur babies to Critter Care.

Today my Love bird managed to escape from his cage and was hurt by my cats. He is 15 years old and has never done this before. I was hysterical and my husband and I were looking for places quick that would take him and make sure he was okay. Critter Care was the only one out of around 8 vet hospitals that were willing to see him right away (I understand COVID has made things difficult). It was a long drive, but the staff was so kind and responsive. We are so thankful for the care that he recieved. He is so special to us and today really was a rough day. The prices were very fair as well. We wish we lived closer so that we could continue using their services.
Thank you!
