Here are challenges ordering medication with Kaiser Pharmacy:
1) For prescriptions coming from external doctors they never show in the system seamlessly. Refills don't show up even when I know for sure they have been ordered by the specialist. One has to make a phone call to pull the prescription even though it has been in use for years. Apparently in the system it generates a new prescription # which a member should not be expected to know.
2) More than once my prescription that I ordered using the app didn't go through without any notification. So I have to ensure I call each time to make sure the order went through.

I hope Kaiser with its focus on Digital Systems can do better than this.

It's rare to find a nurse or doctor to talk to you or treat you like a decent human being. Nice open and listen all the way.
The pharmacy is always short.
Some of my doctors get my diagnosis wrong

I showed up for an appointment only for the doctor to cancel while I was literally checking in. Not for being late or anything, but because they need me to make an appointment at a different branch. It would have been nice to know this while I was setting up the appointment or at any point before I was physically here to see the doctor. The other branch has availability in about 2 months, I need help sooner.

But I figured I could at least pick up my medication. Only the pharmacy needs doctor approval for the refill. You know, the doctor I was supposed to see today for the appointment they cancelled.

I have several other stories like this, and I'm done with the doctor's and medications here. At this point, I think I'd rather just stay sick than deal with Kaiser.

Kaiser is still the worst insurance in CO. I don’t care which plan you have or pay for, getting anything done at Kaiser is like pulling teeth. They put all these protocols in so that you can’t get your child the help the need unless jumping through hoop after hoop, and by the way, if your child is a competitive athlete and are injured and you’re hoping your child will be seen by the correct doctor in an appropriate time frame, it will never happen. Kaiser acts like a military regime in what and when they decide to run further tests on your child. The primary care doctors are nice, but they’re pretty much paid to just send you to another doctor because they said they can’t order an MRI on an injured patients My daughter injured her knee and now has knee pain, 2 doctors gave her slightly different diagnosis. Her team trainer told me they believe the primary doctors are wrong and they think it’s her ACL. The doctors don’t hear what you tell them, they don’t care what you tell them, you pay absorbent amounts of money for Kaiser for them to tell you that MRI’s are expensive to them. Expensive to them??? Why do I pay a high monthly payment to have Kaiser insurance? I thought it was for moments like this when my child is injured and they need an MRI??? We have the best Kaiser insurance you can buy, low co pays, full coverage, and we pay a lot for it each month, and then tell them you want an MRI and they say not unless you see multiple doctors and the doctor agrees to it. Oh yeah, and you won’t see that specialized doctor for weeks because didn’t you know, there’s a giant shortage of Kaiser doctors in CO. They don’t even have pediatric physical therapists. Don’t worry though, someone will call in a few days from a contracted company. You won’t get a call for weeks, not days. Kaiser is the WORST insurance company in CO. Do yourself a favor, get insurance somewhere else. And I’m not the only one who thinks this. I called cactus sport and spine to see if I could get an evaluation on my daughter and they said they get the most complaints on Kaiser. No shock there.
