La Montañita Food Co-op - Santa Fe

I visited this grocery store specifically for raw milk. I found it offers many local fruits, veggies, honey, eggs, and milk, among other items. These types of stores are usually much higher than other grocery stores, but I found their prices reasonable for local, fresh foods.

Wonderful store - great food, great selection, including New Mexico products. You don't have to be a member to shop here, but I'm proud to be a lifetime member.

Fresh inventory, fair prices, and by far, the friendliest and most helpful staff in Santa Fe…it’s your one-stop-shop for wholesome food.🙌

We love the Coop for Kombucha & local: breads. We bought Native American Ground beef that was surprisingly well priced. The variety & quality of their produce is great & some of it is even affordable! We also found good deals in yoghurt & Feta!
Above all you cannot beat the ambience!

Great quality of food choices and friendly staff. Most of their fruits and veggies are organic. The meat counter looks very good, but I mostly purchase poultry there. It's fresh and delicious, non GMO.

It's the only cooperatively owned grocery store in Santa Fe and mostly for that reason it gets 5 stars. Good local produce when seasonally available, fresh local meats when available and a hot bar / salad bar, a bulk foods section and a nice place to sit and eat and watch your friends at the register spending lots of money being healthy. Something for everyone!

You can't beat the selection of specialty quality foods at this coop. There's stuff you can't get anywhere else in the area. I will say there is a bit of a codependent vibe among employees (i.e. weighed down by taking on others energy) but that's New Mexico for ya. They always behave politely.

I recently had a sandwich from their deli and it was absolutely delicious! Made right on the spot while I shopped around. I love having this grocery store in my neighborhood. Staff have always been very pleasant. Also it helps to be a member to get the best prices and deals! Only $15 a year.

I absolutely love this place. Wonderful selection of food in general, fabulous deli, fun and charming gifts. Great options for specialized diets (gluten free vegan, etc.) Every time we come to Santa Fe we discover a new favorite food at Las Montanitas

Great place for local goods and super-nice people to help you. Lots of hard-to-find items and brands as well. Try the made-to-order sandwiches in the back - best deal in Santa Fe I think. My only two criticisms are that this place is EXPENSIVE - like $300 for two bags of groceries being the norm- with the other being their seafood counter. You'd think it would be a heaping pile of fresh Colorado trout, but it's not. It's an assortment of creepy fish that's far from appealing to the eye. But their meat is top notch so just get your fish at whole foods instead. Overall, a fantastic place to shop if you're not on a budget.

Love shopping here! They have a great gift section. Produce section is really kept up well. The deli offers lots of options, and we enjoyed our sandwiches that we ordered. Staff was cheerful and professional.

Long story short, my car is not supposed to let me lock myself out. That system function failed today. My thumb accidentally grazed the "lock" button on the rear door handle and....

My 2 year old and my key were locked in my car that had been parked in the sun for well over an hour.

An employee of the coop and gentleman roasting chile noticed me frantically on my phone and looking in my windows.

He immediately came to ask me if I needed anything and offered comfort. I was F***ing terrified.

He told me he would be in the parking lot and checking on us while we waited for emergency services.

Thankfully AAA got to us quickly andy son is unharmed.

I felt afraid and helpless while my child was crying in my hot car. Knowing that Brian was right there was a gigantic comfort.

I cant thank him enough.

He deserves all the pay raises and vacation days.

La Montañita is a great food co-op. They carry a wide range of local and organic food. The staff is helpful and friendly. The store is well organized and operated. They give back to the community. One of the first things I did upon moving back to Santa Fe was renew my membership here. It's a great place to belong!

I am a grocery store lover, and I absolutely loved this co-op! Sure the produce is a little more expensive than the nearby Sprouts, but the variety is much better here. I also liked their selection of local products and prepared foods.

A good selection veges, cheeses, meats, and other grocery. They also have a good delli and salad bar. And don't forget the pizza.

I love this store....I can walk around for hours. Brings back soo many memories and good quality fresh veggies n fruit. The beets is one of my favorites. Chill calm enviroment.

This place smells so good inside and fresh it's wonderful It smells like the whole foods used to smell like 20 years ago. I bought some snacks and goodies for a road trip and please sesame balls were really yummy and fresh.

An all around great coop for all kinds of healthy foods including fresh produce and prepared foods. really good heated meat or veggie dishes and an open food bar.

Good selection, kind of pricey though.
