Great coaching. Noticed an exercise was aggravating my back and immediately changed how I was doing it and then my back felt great.

Tonia is always watching and giving feedback and is so kind. And she lets me stay late and stretch.

I have been a Terrain athlete for 6 years now. In those 6 years, I have transformed as an athlete physically and mentally. I have become more durable, less injury prone and have developed a deep respect and appreciation for strength training. Tonia and her team teach me something new every day, and I am inspired by every individual who trains with me. Under Tonia’s coaching, I have represented the U.S. on six Mountain Running teams and I have won a National Trail Championship. As Tonia always says: gym numbers don't matter; it's what you do outside the gym that counts.

I've been at Terrain for several years. I am so happy to be a part of the Terrain family. I attend the early morning class. Everyone is very positive and encouraging. Over the years I have had different injuries. Tonia is excellent with modifications so you can continue your workouts and still heal. Tonia is very knowledgeable and professional. I truly appreciate her expertise and I highly recommend Terrain.

Tonia's programming is truly incredible. The intention behind it along with her focus on form have kept me free from injury and making significant progress in the gym in such a short time as well as able to enjoy and excel at the things I love to do outside of the gym! Joining Terrain has radically changed my approach to fitness and has resulted in getting in the best health and shape I’ve been in in over 20 years. The coaching at Terrain gives professional expertise with a personable approach. The focus on strength training has greatly improved my ongoing back issues on top of increased fitness overall. Being apart of a specific session has provided the camaraderie and “in it together” motivation that keeps me accountable and consistent. I can’t say enough about how amazing this gym is. I absolutely recommend it.

BEST gym and BEST nutritional coaching! Tonia is a well of knowledge and has helped me immensely with my performance in and outside of the gym both through training and nutrition. She invests and gets to the root cause(s) of issues.She never uses a single approach for everyone but instead looks at the individual and caters to exactly what one needs.

I've been a member of multiple training gyms over the past 20+ years, and an owner of multiple yoga studios. Based on my experiences, Terrain (Tonia) is outstanding on multiple fronts.

The training programs are well thought out based on Tonia's many years of education, coaching and continually growing her knowledge and skill sets. I've seen amazing, unexpected results during my time here. And, more importantly, being a 53 year old outdoor enthusiast, without incurring injuries that sideline me from my passions.

Each workout has a specific purpose. Strength building based on individual markers, with focus on proper form over weight amount. Conditioning workouts that are very tough without sacrificing safety. Other training gyms I've gone to over the years, often used heavy olympic style lifting within a metabolic conditioning workout that places a premium on speed and amount of weight over safe training. Which led to poor form and multiple injuries.

From my fitness boutique owner's cap, I really appreciate Terrain's culture. Tonia obviously spends time mentoring her staff on the details of all movements and workouts. Which results in consistency among the coaches when teaching movements and/or giving feedback.

Finally, I'm most appreciative of Terrain's culture. There is a genuine and client focused/friendly atmosphere. They definitely make you feel welcomed and valuable.

Been going to Terrain consistently for a few years. Tonia has changed our bodies (my wife and I) and our lives! Strength training is a vital component of good fitness, and Tonia guides you through that in a safe, fun, effective way. The group environment is great for pushing you forward, and the classes are always varied but with a progressive goal in mind. The gym is well equipped with everything you need. We recommend Terrain to everyone who asks, and even those who don't! It's also great as a physician, to be able to send patients her way to improve muscle mass, range of motion, and mobility, knowing that she will keep all of their physical needs as a priority. As a long time client, I appreciate how the scheduled workouts can be modified to accommodate injuries, etc. As long as you are not in a body cast, Tonia can customize a workout for you! Great equipment, Great program, Great like minded people to motivate you to a higher level of fitness! Whether you are recovering from an injury or preparing for a sport or physical challenge, Terrain will help you achieve your goals!!

Tonia has many years of experience in fitness and training as well as a dedication to continuing education. The training focuses she develops change every few weeks to challenge your body in new ways and to create a solid, well rounded core fitness level. Tonia’s knowledge of the body and fitness allows her to modify each focus around any injury or rehab program to keep you moving while you heal. She has high standards for selecting coaches to support her program so the entire staff is top notch. This is not a place you go to get good at going to the gym; it’s a place you go to increase your strength, stamina and durability for the things you love to do outdoors. At Terrain you will find yourself training with mountain athletes – both weekend warriors and professionals, first responders, and folks of all ages who just want to feel good.

Tonia at Terrain has been absolutely brilliant at training around an ongoing shoulder injury for me. She wrote out an individualized plan that has allowed to me gain strength while I wait for my orthopedic consults. In addition we have worked through imbalances from an old ankle injury and rehabbed a torn meniscus. Tonia understands that the gym is a means to more fully enjoying your outdoor activities and not the goal itself. If you are an outdoor athlete who wants to continue playing outside as your age, this is the place.

After seven years of CrossFit which resulted in numerous injuries, I needed to find something new that could help me achieve my goals of strength, mobility and endurance without destroying my body. I've been with Terrain for several years now and can say it continues to check all those boxes for me.

What I particularly like is Tonia's (owner) approach to programming. Each of the 4-8 week sessions she puts together is well thought out with clearly defined progressions and regular assessments along the way. Tonia is very transparent about her programming and is happy to talk through with you the goals and objectives at any time.

Additionally, Tonia is very adept at putting high quality modifications in place for you. I experienced a significant wrist injury while mountain biking over a year ago that involved surgery and months of rehab. Tonia worked closely with me to put programming in place to meet my limitations during that time.

Considering all of the above, I highly recommend Terrain for anyone looking for a top-tier gym. The membership prices are worth every penny.

I have only positive things to say about my experience at Terrain. I always look forward to working out at this gym, the programing is excellent and changes often enough to keep things interesting. Your muscles have to adapt to new movements and continually get stronger. One of my favorite things about working out at this gym is that it builds well rounded strength and fitness so that you are able to go scramble up a mountain on a whim and also be in shape for your work and life in general. A truly supportive and fun atmosphere.

Terrain is by far the best “gym” I have ever joined. I emphasize gym because it’s more than just a place to stay and get fit. It’s a community and an experience. Tonia and her trainers actually get to know you to make personalized suggestions within the currated workout sessions. There is purpose that goes in to the multi-week long series, which keeps a goal in mind but than changes after a few weeks to keep you engaged. As mentioned there is a sense that you are getting a one-on-one training session but within a non-judgmental group settings to help feed off other’s energy. If I can’t make a session there is always the open gym to pound out what I need on my own. Shower makes it convenient so I can head straight to work after.

I can't say enough amazing things about my first few months at Terrain. As a trail runner, I've known I need to add strength training and could not have found a better fit. With Tonia, you feel like you're getting personal training while having the community experience and encouragement. If you haven't tried it out, you should! (I wish I had sooner)

I have been training at Terrain off and on for about 5 or 6 years now and can honestly say I've never experienced a more well-rounded fitness program and welcoming gym community. I came to Terrain looking for a program that would provide not only a balance of strength and cardiovascular fitness but would consider and integrate the fitness needs of both my outdoor activities and my job as a firefighter. Tonia and her team provide that and so much more and they do it in a fun, challenging and diverse way that is personalized to an individual's needs and goals while harnessing the positives of a group environment. Terrain is a gym where the trainers never, ever phone it in. Every day, week, and season is intentional. The coaches meet each athlete exactly where they are in fitness, help them set concrete goals and achieve them. Classes of twelve people still feel like a private lesson. I've had measured growth in strength and I've had so much fun. I know I'm not alone in my gratitude for the hard work and consistency of Terrain.

This is my third year attending Tonia's classes at Terrain, and I've had nothing but positive experiences. From the creativity and research that goes into the workout programs, to the camaraderie that happens with fellow participants, to Tonia's expert feedback, the whole experience has been phenomenal.
If you're looking for an extremely knowledgeable group of trainers that will push you without putting you in danger (and can in fact work around any injuries you might have), or some accountability to get in shape, or just some new perspective in training for your sport, you won't go wrong by coming to Terrain.
