Alder Family Dental

As someone with a long history dentist anxiety, I can’t recommend Alder Family Dental enough. They listened to my concerns, have offered effective options to mitigate my anxiety, and have consistently kind bedside manner. I know I’m in very good hands. We are doing a lot of work to improve my oral health and my smile (with Invisalign), and I’m so excited and feel increasingly confident and less shame and anxiety. I didn’t think this was possible before getting started. I’m so grateful to the whole team at Alder Family Dental!

I had a very thorough and informative initial consultation with Dr. Murdoch, who also took a genuine interest in both my dental needs and personal background. The office carries both a professional and friendly atmosphere, which makes it a pleasure to visit.

I broke a crown and needed rapid service as I was going out of the country within 10 days. They fit me in and made and installed a new permanent crown in one visit. Noemi , the assistant and Dr. Kimberly Murdoch were superb.

My procedure required flexible decision making. Dr. and assistant were totally effective and explained things very well. They were attentive to my needs. @Alder Family Dental, staff are knowledgeable and each performs the specific role with diligence. That includes the front office and the “back” clinical people.

Having been on the receiving end of dental care for 75 years, I am pleased to say that Alder Family Dental provides the best care I have ever experienced. It is obvious that they really care for and about their patients comfort and well being. They are the best!

So far, so good.

No treatment as of yet, but Dr. Martin, her hyginist, and business office are working together with me to make a plan. We have a date set for procedures to take place. I feel I understand what to expect in coming weeks.

They're going to help me with my anxiety during a set of procedures. Hopefully, I can come away with zero pain and trauma. If I happen to take a nap, fine by me. We'll see!

I'll be back to update this review in a few weeks or months. Hopefully, with all good news. I'm feeling optimistic for someone who avoided dental services for approximately ten years due to multiple unfounded fears.

I am always treated respectfully, with kindness, and greeted when I walk in the door. Dr Sharkey, Kent, and the other staff have always been gentle with any work that I need done to my teeth. Thank you so much!!!

So pleased with our first experience here. Friendly office staff. The Dentists and hygienists are highly skilled and knowledgeable. They go above and beyond. I’ve never had a dentist so thoroughly look at my TMJ issues, or do anything about it for that matter. First appointment with Alder and the dentist explained so much and gave me a referral to a specialist.

My wife and I recommend Alder Family Dental to all the people who ask us for the name of a dentists or who do we see. My regular hygienist is Christy. She is very professional and explains everything well. Yesterday she did a cleaning and made some great recommendations. Dr. Martin examine my teeth and also made some very good suggestions. All of the staff do a great job from the moment you enter the office till the moment you leave.

My husband and I established dental care in Walla Walla and this has been the BEST dental office we have ever been to. Everyone was very friendly and had great communication. Hanna was very friendly and caring. Dr. Sharkey and Dr. Murdoch took the most time we have ever had with a dentist to educate us about our teeth and the importance of preventive care. Thank you so much for welcoming us to Walla Walla and we recommend the Alder Dental team to all! 😊

Such lovely people here! I've been seen by both Dr. Murdoch and Dr. Martin, and been cared for by several hygienists and assistants. Recently I had some major work done that I'd been putting off; Dr. Martin and Sam made the procedure so quick and easy, I could barely believe that was all there was to it. They are kind, skillful, and do excellent work. I'm so happy to have found Alder Family Dental. :)

I have never come here for treatment before. Today when I walked in I was greeted like an old friend, smiling faces, warm greetings, everything but free cookies! I was seated promptly and attended to immediately by a very pleasant young dental asst Sam (probably short for Samantha). She took my xrays (broken tooth) and then Asst Savannah who I knew from another practice came in to help. She recognized me after not having seen me for over at least 5 years. I felt like I was at home, surrounded by all my old friends! I have to say I don't like going to the dentist, but I am really happy I did today. Then Dr. Martin came in. What a sweetheart. She had me under her spell immediately. Examined me and came up with options for my treatment, including variable costs. Now I can hardly wait to go back and get started, and to see all my friends at Alder Family Dental. You won't be disappointed with this office.
I grew up in the 40's-50's, and I had a horrible fear of dentists. I hated the drill, the smells, everything bothered me so much that I gave up on ever visiting a dentist. My how times have changed. I recently had a deep cleaning and never had a shot or felt any pain at all. I just had a followup exam yesterday and what a major improvement. Trust me, if you are older like me, you are in for a surprise. Dr. Martin and her wonderful staff are very capable of providing pain free dentistry to everyone. I am so happy to have the greatest dentist in town. Thank you Dr Martin and staff, you are the best!

Always helpful and attentive - very happy to be a patient at Alder Family Dental. Heather is terrific and Dr. Sharkey is very thorough.

I went to the dentist for the first time when I was 19 and the team has been fantastic! I’ve gone through braces, 2 fillings, and teeth cleaning and it has always been pleasant experience. It was a long process but I love my smile now. Dr. Sharkey and his team are amazing and so knowledgeable. They took the anxiety and stress out of every new experience. I cannot recommend enough.

Wonderful treatment as usual, I commented on their attire, Which I found becoming and relaxing. Great people , who definitely put the patient at ease.

Kent cleaned my teeth. He’s awesome:very careful and gentle; and he educates me so I can keep my teeth and gums healthy.

Dr Martin is The BEST dentist ever!! She got me in right away for acute pain with my implant! Her kindness and professionalism is amazing!!! They care about more than just the health of your teeth.

When I started going to AFD, I would panic about getting my teeth cleaned, and would need sedation for a filling. (I had a lot of dental trauma as a kid.) About a month ago I was able to get an old root canal redone (the root canal was unrelated to AFD, outside of the fact that they caught the abscess that needed treatment) without any sedatives or mood relaxers of any kind. Before going to AFD there was no chance that I would be able to do that.

Dr.Sharkey and his team were so gentle and patient with me. They gave me the highest quality care and advice that I could trust. It’s hard to find dentists out there who care so much about their patients. For me, AFD has set the standard incredibly high.

If you live in Walla Walla or the surrounding area and have a history of avoiding the dentist, AFD is the place for you.
