Paul is a very skilled clinician and therapist, and he is able to accurately diagnose my symptoms/pain, as well as provide various in-office treatments and exercises that are simple yet effective. I've had postpartum low back/pelvic/sciatica for 2 years and have seen many PTs that are excellent, and Paul is one of the best. I like the community layout and model -- I never feel rushed, and I don't mind it when the therapists briefly step away to tend to other clients. His office is in a convenient location, the equipment is clean and comprehensive, his staff are wonderful (Chalis is super organized and responsive), and I don't have to wait long to get scheduled. They welcome well-behaved pets here, and my dogs also love coming here!

Paul has been the best, most knowledgeable physical therapist I have ever worked with. He has also worked wonders with my husband when he was training for his first marathon at the age of 61!! Not only did he finish but he placed. Paul even followed up with my husband after the race. Paul has shown over and over that he truly cares for his clients. We would and have recommended Paul to anyone who needs an excellent physical therapist.

I'm so grateful for Whatcom Community Physical Therapy
I broke my pelvis , while dealing with back issues . Paul and his group have been so great. Paul takes time with you and doesn't watch the clock like I've experienced with other PT. My back is great, the pelvis is healing and I'm grateful to them all. I highly recommend them!!

Paul is really a great Physical Therapist! He is professional, knowledgeable, and produced results in treating my knee. He was thorough and patient in explaining and treating my particular issue. He took great care in developing my exercise program, reducing my pain, and provided me with a custom knee brace. I highly recommend him for your Physical Therapy needs. Thank you.

My daughter has severe anxiety around doctors (including physical therapists). After a knee injury a few years ago, we tried PT but she was unable to get past her anxiety to trust her PT and do the work. After she re-injured it this year, we decided to try Whatcom Community Physical Therapy. When we arrived and saw Echo in the waiting area, my daughter started to relax a little. Still, her anxiety was strong. It took a couple of sessions, but Dr. Paul worked with her where she was, and when he invited her to bring our dog with her to sessions, she was finally able to feel comfortable with him and trust him enough to let him help her with her recovery. She's still in process, but we're so glad we found someone that could get past her anxiety. He is also extremely knowledgeable and very good at explaining the why behind the what you are doing, which is also important for those with doctor anxiety. We're very happy to be working with him!

Paul took a lot of time to explain my neck injury, listened to my residual symptoms and put my fears at ease about my neck being touched. I've never had a more relaxing spa like experience during PT and his kind, gentle and intelligent approach has gone a long way in trusting him in what my body still needs to rebuild. I can see why all his other patients love and respect him, too. Thank you, Paul! :)

I hold Dr. Paul Fitzgerald and the staff of Whatcom Community Physical Therapy in the highest regard. Ten years ago, a crippling foot condition rendered me nearly immobile for several years. When this condition recently resurfaced, my recovery timetable was indeterminate. Fortunately, the outstanding therapeutic process at WCPT bestowed the invaluable gift of time. My current rehabilitation has advanced at an unexpected pace. Paul's orthopedic expertise is exceptional. His insights, assessments, and treatment plans have definitively exceeded those of any previous medical provider. Paul and his staff are genuinely compassionate and kind. The warm atmosphere is reminiscent of family. It is my pleasure and privilege to continue my recovery at WCPT.

I would highly recommend Paul. When I came in initially it wasn't clear what my issue was so Paul tried a couple of different approaches for knee and lower back pain issues. After treatment I am completely recovered with no pain whatsoever. Paul is extremely knowledgeable, honest about his diagnosis, was very pleasant to deal with, and truly has his patients best interests at heart. I have had PT from several other providers, and Paul is the best by far that I have received treatment from.

The therapists and staff are exceptional. Over the years, I have had physical therapy with several providers in Bellingham. Whatcom Community Physical Therapy is, in my opinion, the best in Bellingham. The therapists are knowledgeable, highly trained and skilled at their professions. At the beginning of each session they check in with me to see how I am doing and they adapt each session as I progress and heal. They give me great advice for exercises and life adaptations I can use to advance the healing process between sessions. The support staff is very friendly and work hard to make scheduling and insurance as easy as possible. I highly recommend the providers at Whatcom Community.

I had a constant muscle pain in my lower back. Paul had me in his office within 8 hours of my initial call. He outlined a stretching and exercise program for my treatment. He explained why the exercises were being done and demonstrated and helped me through each one. I am very pleased with the results as I am back to my golf and lap swimming. Thank you Paul and your staff.

Both my husband and I worked with Paul on the runners assessment and took away many helpful tips to improve technique, time and stride. We highly recommend this service and most importantly it helps with preventing injuries! You will be happy you did it!

Shout out to all my friends at WCPT. Still doing the stretches and strength exercises you taught me. Went snowshoeing yesterday for 2 hours! Knee feels great. You all put in a lot of work to make that a reality. You are absolutely the best in Bellingham. Pull out an assessment form, put my name at the top and circle the smiley face. Thank you so much! I miss seeing you each week but glad I am healthy enough not to.

I believe WCPT has been the best experience I've ever had.
The staff is extremely friendly & professional, and the establishment is very clean. I was treated with the utmost respect & dignity, and felt it was moreso a "family" setting, than an actual place of business.
Dr. Fitzgerald spent extra time to get to know me as a person and cared greatly about my well-being, to get me out of pain & to function normally again.
Katie took the time to help me with the paperwork and questions, too!
I was respectfully treated by all staff, cared about as an individual, and highly recommend WCPT to everyone I know! I will forever be grateful to them, for going above and beyond & helping me when I needed them!

I've been going to WCPT for treatment of sciatic pain. I recently went to their massage therapist, Therese, who was absolutely phenomenal! She really knew what she was doing! I highly recommend WCPT!

Just went to see Paul for the first time based on the referral of a family member. Very relaxed environment, yet you still feel like your questions are being answered and your concerns being addressed. Would highly recommend.
