Exceptional consignment partner. Been working with The Velvet Shoestring for a few years. Two designers had previously told me to work with The Velvet Shoestring and I wish I started consigning with them years ago. They're courteous, professional, and customer friendly. Timely payments for the consignor. And, a GREAT place to shop for high-end furniture, art, & furnishings.

My experience with The Velvet Shoestring has always been exceptional! The staff goes above and beyond to ensure my items are handled with care and are positioned to sell! Their customer service is also top-notch! They warmly greet customers as they arrive and are extremely helpful when giving design inspiration. I've purchased from this shop multiple times and can tell you every single interaction has been nothing short of fantastic. Bravo to Jackie, Avery and The Velvet Shoestring team! Y'all are the best!

I happened to be visiting the store when an unfortunate event happened which prompted me to write this review. The Velvet Shoestring is my happy place. I love finding things here for my home as well as consigning pieces I am ready to part ways with. The staff is always pleasant, helpful, and really go above and beyond to make things happen. Consigning here is extremely easy. You sign a contract, drop off your pieces, and cross your fingers they sell (which they do pretty quickly.) You call to check to see if your stuff sells here and there and go pick up a check if it sells. It’s not rocket science and the process is laid out in the co tract that you sign. They have always paid me on time, thanked me for consigning, and invited me back. This isn’t a glorified junk shop. You have highly trained individuals who run an excellent business bringing the area beautiful and unique pieces. They have an eye for style and truly are pros in the business.

Don’t let one negative overdramatic google review which was written out of anger due to the customers own actions stop you from visiting this gem!!

There is no place on the Main Line like the The Velvet Shoestring! The shop is so thoughtfully curated and there is always fresh inventory and new treasures to be found! My mom and I have been shopping at the store for years and have found some of our most cherished pieces here. We also appreciate all of the staff and the familiar faces always there to make suggestions and help with design advice! Overall a totally great experience at The Velvet Shoestring!

Forever impressed by The Velvet Shoestring. For a small business to churn out such consistently great product and service (they came to my apartment to select and price items; pick-up/delivery was very reasonable) is remarkable. I recommend it to all of my 30-something friends who are buying their first homes. Thank you for being such a staple on the Main Line. Always a treat to visit and see what's new (an every day occurrence)! Pro tip: set your Instagram to notify you when The Velvet Shoestring posts new items. It's all fantastic--and it all flies!

I don’t go to any other consignment shops since discovering the VS. I always find something wonderful and love following their Insta posts. Stuff goes really fast because the pricing is fair and the merch is always in great condition.

Always a great selection and wonderful atmosphere when I visit the store. I recently purchased a Maitland Smith entry table I have been searching for forever! Avery and her mother Jackie (I thought they were sisters!) were so helpful and made the experience everything I hoped for. I will definitely be returning!!

Nothing but positive things to say about the Velvet Shoestring and their wonderful staff. Not only are they always getting absolutely amazing items in, they are also so great to work with! Everything is handled professionally and they are so helpful with finding the perfect piece you are looking for.

Love, Love Love this store. Jackie and Avery have amazing taste and a beautiful selection of furnishings. My home has such unique pieces all purchased at the Velvet Shoestring. My only advice is if you see something "buy it"! The have such a high turn over of furnishings nothing sits around for very long.

Every time I enter the store they have new amazing inventory. I also love that they put their new items on their instagram @velvetshoestring. I had an amazing experience using Velvet Shoestrings. From setting up the appt, to Avery arriving right on time to decide which items she was going to take and consign, to setting up the appointment to have items picked up, to the delivery men calling ahead to tell me they were on the way, taking all items. Velvet Shoestring is a great spot to pick up high end furniture and accessories for very good/fair prices. I think the better deals are to be had by the buyer ratherthan the consignor. For example, a $4500 piece can be bought for 1,200 which is a bargain. But the seller only gets 1/2 of thee selling price which can be a hard pull to swallow.
I have consigned many things there and although i might've been able to get more had I sold it on my own, the convenience of just dropping it off all tiere an then picking up a check is certainly worth it. I sold an entire living room and dining room. Mostly within 30 days a few pieces took a little longer.
They have a very good social media presence on Instagram, so as soon as your items are received and posted they get a lot of views and interest. So that’s certainly helps them sell things quickly.
The store is so full of just about anything you need for any room in your house, but most of it tends to be on the traditional side. If you’re really looking for something ultramodern I don’t think this would be the spot. However they do have modern pieces here and there.
They run a very tight ship and are good at responding and getting things processed and out on the floor. The owners are very knowledgeable and definitely no their business.

My husband and I visited yesterday for the first time. I'm not big on consignment stores, but I was very impressed with this one. It was clean , it didnt have that used furniture store smell, the items were beautiful and classy...like new. We ended up leaving with a few pieces for our home , will definitely be back. The staff is very friendly and helpful! Wonderful store that we highly recommend. The prices aren't bad either !

Such a fun store to come look for antique items. Lots of furniture and decorations. The inventory seems to flip pretty quickly so there’s always something new. Definitely stop in if you’re looking to decorate!

Always a beautiful selection of home decor and furnishings for all different aesthetics. The prices are great, pieces are in excellent condition and the staff is wonderful. Jackie and Avery make the shopping experience an absolute joy!

I was so impressive about the furnitures in this store. I only visited this store twice and bought three furnitures. Jackie, the owner of the store, is so nice. She provided me a lot of information about furniture refinishing. Their shipping and handling price is reasonable. Thank you so much Jackie.

MY FAVORITE FURNITURE STORE!!!! Where do I start....the velvet shoestring offers top of the line or handmade furniture and other decor at an amazing value. I love that they post some of their new inventory on Facebook; I almost always see something I love! Their selection is both affordable and unique (most recently I got an Asian outdoor statue, a large tibetian painting with a beautiful gold frame and a gorgeous wooden console table), all of that for under $250!

I have also consigned many pieces, (and I've dealt with a few different furniture consigners in the area), VS is by far the most simple, straight foward process, they will even come pick up your furniture! So easy!

Went in the Velvet Shoestring for the first time today after hearing about this place forever. Awesome stuff and staff was so pleasant and helpful. Can’t wait to come back next time I am in town! Will be highly recommending it!

Always are welcome and all are friendly and talkative. Have enjoyed myself every time I have been there. Always have such interesting and fun things to add to my home.!
