Penn Highlands DuBois

I went in for surgery that was scheduled for 9:00 but I never went back until 12:30. I’m not sure why the wait was so long, but that’s the only complaint I had. The entire staff was extremely nice and attentive, I didn’t have anyone there with me so they kept checking on me. When I was taken back to the OR, my favorite nurse went with me and even held my hand while I was given anesthesia. The care I was given in the post-op was just as good. I also want to thank Dr. Ali for being so kind.

I was brought in by ambulance to the E/R for blood pressure very low and I had passed out.
The E/R staff was great treated me quickly and I was admitted to ICU on 5th floor. I was here 3 days and had excellent staff treat me with respect and was being cared for very good.

I walked in around 7 am of the first snowfall of the season with an infection, was treated very well in the ER, and all my tests were completed within an hour of walking in. They knew I had to be admitted, and to be honest waiting for a room upstairs was the longest I waited. I even asked for non narcotic pain killer and it was in my IV within 10 minutes of asking.
The 5th floor staff, as well as the ER staff were kind, patient, helpful, professional, and knew what they were doing. And the view was pretty nice too since the leaves were changing.

They were able to take care of me in a very short. Of time and I handed up having surgery and the doctors, nurses, and staff are awesome theyre there to help and they do not ignore you when you hit your Call button. I definitely Will be using this hospital For my medical needs.

I've always liked my psychological Dr. and my therapist and my doctors. With all the new stuff... I'm still getting lost!, but it's really nice 👍.

This place was great. When I left I had all my body parts. When I left I had no more diseases than when I arrived. If you know how to ask just right you will leave with a happy ending

I actually had a good experience there with all the people and nurses.
I went in for surgery this past Thursday and everyone was nice and polite and caring. They all took real good care of me and there was a nurse sitting right beside my bed the whole time in recovery making sure I woke up and was ok. They also gave me nice warm blankets and did a excellent job caring for me. I also want to give special thanks to my doctor who has now preformed 2 separate surgery's on me. Thanks Dr.Firas Ali DMD,

Penn Highlands Dubois is definitely my preferred hospital. I go here every month for infusions, have had two minor procedures done here, multiple MRIs, and one emergency room visit.I have been completely satisfied with my treatment every time. Our household’s last emergency room visit occurred prior to the pandemic. It was for a chest X-ray after a minor fall, nothing super critical, and we did not have to wait to be seen at all. It’s important to remember that the long wait times are due to covid, not the staff. If everyone were to take the virus seriously and get vaccinated, it would free the staff’s time up to treat other patients in a much more timely manner.

Penn Highlands gets a lot of bad reviews from people who don't get in the ER in an hour for something not emergent, or don't listen to their doctors and end up with worse issues because of it.

I was admitted after having a true emergency. My nurse visited every hour; my doctors at least once a day. My life was saved by their rapid response team because they showed up and did their job.

They knew at what point they could no longer provide me care, and got me to Pittsburgh, where, with the information from Dubois, my team was able to make a plan FAST and act ​upon it.

They aren't perfect, but they are "practicing" medicine, just like every doctor is.

Oh, and billing questions are better to be handled with the business office, not on Google.

I had surgery on Friday, the staff in The OR we're the best the nurses names were Tammy, Tarra, Alyssa they went out of their way to answer all my questions. The nurses and my surgeon and anyone else who helped me gets five stars for sure. Great job THANK YOU.

Dr. Gates and Crystal were great. I was seen in the ER within 5 min both Dr. Gates talked with me so I understood exactly what he was saying. They took great care of me.

While transporting my son home from new Jersey after a liver transplant we had to stop here for a medical issue. Your ER was great to us , got us right in and had him better in hrs. Thank you I am forever grateful.

I was just here for same day surgery. All the staff I had was so respectful and nice. They were awesome about making alterations to my care that most overlook or blow off. This was the best I've ever been treated as a patient. Thank u guys for making this surgery comfortable and being so good to me

My son was away on camping trip 4 hours away from home. We received a phone call from him saying he was sick and in a lot of pain. We drove 4 hrs to pick him up and ended up stopping at hospital where we found out he needed surgery asap due to his appendix being ruptured. Within 4 hrs the surgical team and Dr Ressler were in operating room removing the appendix and infection. Our family were still 2 1/2 hrs from home. The nurses on the 4th floor are absolutely incredible. They made us feel so comfortable and at ease. Thank you all very much

We just had our first baby here! Everyone from the nurses to housekeeping were phenomenal and so genuine. We couldn’t have had a better experience and we are so thankful for Penn Highland’s staff for being the absolute best.

Just returned home from the Covid 19 vaccine Clinic at the DuBois Jr. High. I congratulate Penn Highlands Healthcare on providing this service to the community. It was very organized, everyone was extremely helpful. I never felt "crowded" and never waited in line.
Excellent job!

I fell and broke my hip, two and one-half hours from home. I was treated well and received great care. Dr.Richman performed a hip replacement, I am walking as before with no problems. Thanks to the Doctors and Staff for the excellent care.

My wife was seen immediately and the ER staff from the RN Becky to the young doctor were totally professional and caring…. Great hospital!

I received excellent care here.They found what Brookville Hospital could not.And I appreciate the Doctors, nurses and everyone who has helped me....I wanna give a Huge Shout out to Nurse Direinda or Direnda maybe Dirienda ...I can't remember how to spell it but I believe she is an RN there and she absolutely awesome .....

I had an amazing nursing staff and doctors while I was in labor with me son. And even the scary moments of my pregnancy when I needed to be taken to the ER the staff was incredible and I was seen right away.
