Great specimen trees. Greater walking, (but can't imagine doing that in July). Loved the No Mow zone!

Love it! Very peaceful and you can purchase memorials that can be place in rose garden and possibly throughout the park. Good place to get away to for a few minutes(or longer). Everything is well maintained.

This is one of the top special places in the Yakima Valley. I wish they had about 2 million dollars to expand the Japanese Garden. More people from all over would visit.

Great park to visit! I went first thing in the morning with my dog and was one of the only people around. The locals were friendly and gave me some hiking suggestions.

You could hear the noise from the highway but the farther you walked into the park the less you could hear it over the birds. I’m sure during the day with more people it would be less noticeable too.

I recently visited Yakima and had some time to kill while my husband was working so I walked around the arboretum. I enjoyed the geese and squirrels. I saw a squirrel napping on a tree branch!

The Arboretum is quite a beautiful place to visit in the Yakima area. You can access the Yakima River and the Yakima Greenway Path via the Arboretum grounds. It's especially cool to visit throughout the year and watch the seasons change. Ever wondered how certain trees grow or look throughout the year? This is a great place to see that . Be prepared to spot a few squirrels during your visit :) The yearly Mushroom Show is hosted at the Arboretum and its definitely worth seeing. We love stopping in to visit their unique gift shop!

Beautiful grounds with small gardens & trails as well as open area. My favorite place in the valley. Large enough area for plenty of people social distancing. When the visitor center re opens, it's worth checking out inside with some cool historical artifacts & history of the arboretum.

Having lived in the yakima valley practically my whole life, I find myself surprised that I had never visited the arboretum until fairly recently. I had always seen it from the freeway, but never actually gone inside. It is a gem of a green space in Yakima. The grounds are tended very well, the arboretum has ample space to walk, explore, do birding, and quiet, secluded places abound to take a breather and just appreciate the beauty of the arboretum. The icing on the cake for me happens to be all the education they do on the local wildlife. Beautiful, beautiful place.

It's the most beautiful place in Yakima this time of year. Come before the leaves finish falling. It's worth an afternoon of nature and peace.

Very helpful staff and a mind boggling variety of trees! The rose garden looks great now -5/24. A great place to have a picnic or just escape the world! Walk the long paths and just breath. Don't forget to stop at the gift shop for helpful literature, snacks, souvenirs, and advice.
