Delicious home made food and the owners are such a lovely couple. Loved it.

We stopped in for lunch and what a great sandwich. We shared the That's Italian with sweet sausage. The bread was soft and the sandwich delicious. The owner said it was an 8 inch sandwich and we might want to split it. He was right. The German potato salad was excellent and I had cottage cheese. They added pineapple and cheese, making it perfect. We enjoyed chatting with the owners and had to get a Reeds Dairy ice cream to take with us. This will be on our "must stop" when we are heading that way. Don't let the outside scare you, it is worth the stop.

Absolutely incredible small town restaurant. It feels like your own grandparents are running the place. Little old and run down, but that only adds to the friendly, comfortable atmosphere. Pizza, omelettes and sandwiches are great. The owners are hilarious.

We stopped here on our way back from Craters of the Moon and Mountain Mel made us amazing bison Reuben sandwiches with home-made sauerkraut and the best ever German potato salad. And the best ever root beer floats. I almost want to move here to go eat here every day! Great people and great food 👌🏼👍🏼

If you’re going through Arco this is a must to go eat at! The owner is the nicest guy you’ll ever meet, a very homey feel to the restaurant. The small shop in the back is great to look at while you wait for your food. There’s a book exchange in the back so bring a book there and take a new one home for free! You’ll strike up a conversation with the locals and get a great meal at the same time! I can’t say enough good things about this place! Will definitely be back!

I live in Arco where locals consider this the "secret" place. A small group regularly meets Mon-Wed-Fri mornings.

Prices are about 1/3 less than other local establishments and food portions are larger - up to twice as larger ($2.99 biscuits & gravy overflow a 12" plate). Regular prices for special diets and custom healthy meals.

There is also a small gift shop with incense, jewelry, book exchange, organic medicine, exotic teas, etc.

Many locals (including myself and other restaurants) get assorted groceries. They maintain a well stocked chilled fresh produce room with select healthy products (they don't charge extra for local organic dairy & farm produce).

Great food, never fast( that is not a deterrent), good conversation, people like to talk, but listen with just as much attention. You got to go if you get by. You're not a customer, you're a good friend they haven't known very long, but they're willing to give you the time.

Trading Post is an apt description of the Mountain Man - food, grocery, herbs, books, mementos - a little bit of everything!
The pizza was awesome, one of the best we've had. We wish we could order once a week, but we keep moving on...

Mell and Showana are amazing hosts that treat you like family from the moment you walk in the door. Absolutely amazing food with absolutely everything made from scratch and often with "grandma's recipe" or "The way it USED to be done". Will absolutely eat here every time I'm passing through.

This is a nice out-of-the-way home a place that the owner and staff make you feel welcome. You can buy organic homegrown produce as well as honey here. It also has a nice little gift shop.

This is a wonderful funky place, a mix of eatery, grocery store, book exchange, herbalist, and lots of other things! Had a great breakfast and conversation with the cook, owner, philosopher, and general nice man, Mel(?). Best thing we did all day!

Great place to stop for a meal. The breakfasts and buffalo burger we had were all very good. The owner was very friendly and the restaurant/shop is really fun to walk around.
