ERIK'S THE MERCEDES KID

They are a in-store restaurant (his mama's restaurant), and then in the evenings and weekends (when he's not at Bale Breaker on Saturdays), Erik the Mercede's kid is open in front at the food truck. It's delicious. Truly.

I grew up eating authentic homemade Mexican food made in the traditional abuelita way, about as Mexican as can get, so when I eat Mexican food outside of my house, it's hard for me to be impressed. Well, Erik definitely does it.

His food is food is far and away the best Mexican food in town, and it's not even close. This is really authentic homemade Mexican food like it should be. The flavors are bold, flavorful, and full of goodness no matter the food, and I've had them all. Erik himself is as amazing as his food, and he makes every eating experience memorable with his amazing personality.

Do you want real, authentic Homemade Mexican food made the right way? This is the only place in Yakima to get it. Anything less than 5 stars is a travesty to the deliciousness and authenticity of the food served here. Do I recommend this place? Without hesitation, you will not regret it.

The only downside is that Erik roots for Chivas, but other than that him and the restaurant as good as they come.

This is a delicious quick stop right off the Ave. If you're unable to visit the establishment, I was told they are currently delivering with UberEats. But if you decide to eat in or pick up in shop, the interior is modern and cozy, they have clean restrooms, and the owner, Erik, is very nice to chat with. Prices are very reasonable, service is really quick, and I was told everything is made as it's ordered.

On my first visit I tried the Big Burrito and a Strawberry Water. Both were delicious! I'm not usually a huge fan of strawberry flavored things, but the Strawberry Water has real strawberries in it. Almost like blended strawberries with a bit of sugar, water, and ice. Very refreshing.

The Big Burrito was quite good as well. They keep their ingredients simple because they use high quality steak, so it's just rice, beans, and steak. But everything is super flavorful. Even the rice tastes like it's been lightly smoked on a bbq. It's a decent size- I was thoroughly stuffed after eating it. The sauces they offer were a nice compliment. I tried the mild and medium, and was a big fan of the mild. It has a yummy savory flavor that I don't think I've ever tasted in a salsa before.

I'll definitely be back AND ordering delivery from them in the future.

The food is always great and the staff is always very friendly and helpful! My girlfriend and I were craving breakfast burritos, which they didn't have on the menu, but they made it for us anyways and it was delicious. We will definitely be returning to try out some of the other options very soon. Highly recommend this place!

This place is legendary! If you want authentic Mexican food with excellent customer service and you want to feel at home… This is the spot. You are missing out if you’re not here often.

The food is always so YUMMY! The service is great. Erik just chats it up with all the customers and makes the place feel comfortable. I love going there!

Everything on the menu is absolutely delicious. We are from out of town, my friends and I got a few different things on the menu and it was all so good! The Birria tacos are BOMB 💣

The food at Erik's is awesome, and the customer service is out of this world. Erik was so friendly and fun to talk to. I can't wait to go back. We basically got one of everything on the menu, and I still cannot decide my favorite!

Super friendly and fast service..got our table of ten ordered and served in ten minutes. Exceptionally fair priced for massive, delicious servings.

Got the Big Burrito and these beans inside are the magic. Our table ordered a huge array of stuff and everyone is happy and full.

Went here with a friend and we ordered the Birria Tacos and it was amazing! Super good food and Erik was very friendly and welcoming! I'm very happy that we stopped by, deffitenly recommend to anyone!

You can definitely feel his passion and Love for bringing the best ingredients and flavors together.. from the American Kobe beef to the handmade corn tortillas to the array of delicious homemade salsas... top quality and care is in every bite!
It may cost a little more than a typical taqueria but it is definitely worth it!
Erik is also just a super nice person!

Great little cafe near the old train station. Simple food, prepared well and filling portions.

Extremely tasty carne asada “big burrito.” The steak was char-grilled and very flavorful. Also filled with delicious Spanish rice and beans. Seriously one of the best burritos I’ve ever eaten and I’ve eaten a few in my day. Fast friendly service possibly from the Mercedes Kid himself.

My wife and I came here from out of town. We are so glad we stopped by Erik’s for lunch. This place was DELICIOUS. Erik was very friendly, and took his time explaining his dishes while we decided. Customer service was 10/10. I was also surprised to know that he uses American Wagyu steak for his carne asada dishes. This brings Mexican food to a whole ‘notha level!! We will be telling our friends about this place.

Erik’s food is delicious. There is a lot of good Mexican food here but if you want to find the best just google “best Mexican food in Yakima” and you will find Erik’s.

Great food and great service. They pulled out a table for us outside so we could eat on the premises since we had a dog and were passing through. I also thought appropriate that we rolled up in an old Mercedes

Erik is as amazing as his food! Hands down the best mexican food I've ever had! A huge contributer to the Yakima scene, makes me wish I lived here!

Loved the food.. worth every cent. Eric is THE BOSS... Get the butt burner salsa. Need one of these in Olympia for sure.
