Looks like a great museum to explore. We showed up after 4 pm and it was closed. Looks like they're open from 11 to 4 Daily. I took pictures of the hours, prices, and the phone number for guided tours. Im going back when they're open and to make arrangements for a guided tour. There are a lot of old buildings to see located around the Museum, Great history.

Really enjoyed my visit here, I learned a lot about the mining and cultural history of the area. I had no idea there were once so many Chinese people here, nor that there’s a significant Basque population too.

This is an amazing museum, with a great collection of artifacts, photos, and references for visitors to learn and explore. The staff answered many of my questions and pointed me to other places in town that may be of interest. I would definitely come here again on Saturday when the Pon Yam Store is open.

The basin historic museum is not only a great place to learn about the mining history of the Boise Basin but also the importance of this town to the state of Idaho as a whole. Lots of historic buildings that are incredibly preserved. When you come to Idaho City it’s like walking into a time capsule from the 1800’s. The museum is a must-see for anyone visiting this town.

Idaho history was made at this site in many ways. It was Idaho City's Post Office after the devistating fires of 1865 and 1867. I lived in one of Idaho City's oldest houses across the street for many years. Built in 1867 for Idaho City's first attorney, J.F. Dutton. You definitely feel as if you have stepped back into the Old West.

Outstanding building and a collection that includes items from many walks of life. An excellent "small town" museum in an incredible historical location! Worthwhile for certain so much to see in town and in the vicinity.
