Wendell August Forge - Flagship Store

While my son, his wife and their son were in town over the holidays, we stopped at Wendell August hoping for a tour for my grandson. One of the employees, Laurie, spotted us and offered to show us around. She was AMAZING!!! She engaged with my 12 year old grandson with such kindness, knowledge, thoughtfulness and encouragement, even letting him hammer out a souvenir to take home with him. We all agreed that our time there was an absolutely wonderful experience thanks to Laurie! We also purchased some beautiful items from among the huge selection of gorgeous, hand crafted, wares.

Anytime I stop, I find the craftsmanship there is awesome. This past time, only wished to be able to tour the whole craft area.

When my mom and I moved to Pittsburgh, the very first thing they did was get us a Wendell August ornament to welcome us to the family - a tradition that now carries through every major life event for my family and friends, and a tradition I was proud to share with my partner during our first holiday season together. We had the pleasure of touring the forge this past weekend, one of the owners, Nick, gave us a personal tour 10 minutes before they closed, after he heard what their pieces meant to my family.

The love, care and craftmanship in each piece is so clearly evident, and is unique while still showcasing what Pittsburgh is all about. They are a true, family oriented, hardworking, and talented business, I cannot recommend them enough.

Ordered a cross for my anniversary and they did a swell job. I used to live in Grove City and met employees, it is a great company with great people. The company is not only making products in the US but has tons of local history. You can watch them make stuff inside. Very happy with my cross as well as tons of other stuff I've purchased there.

Wendell August is a unique place. Their Christmas ornaments are all amazing. We have been collecting them since we bought our house. We also have a few platters and other decorations around the house. We have slowly been replacing our light and plug switch plate covers. The last few times we have been there they haven't had a good selection of them. I hope that they start to get them back in stock!

A short tour including views of projects in process and completed ones, a history museum, and gift shop. I could have spent $12,000! I found lots of beautiful things I liked for under $20, though.

This is a very unique shop. They have the best jewelry and gifts all made on premises. There is so much to see and you can find a great gift for everyone on your list. The staff is extremely helpful. You won't be sorry you made the trip!!

Very beautiful products. Nice self guided tour of the forge and you can pound a die with a piece of tin for a free souvenir.

The pewter items and crafts are very nice. They make great gifts or family tradition pieces. Very unique, well made and good "products."

I grew up surrounded by Wendell August Forge items in my home, my grandparents house, pretty much every one's house. I never appreciated how unique it was until I left PA.

Wendell August Forge is our go to place for wedding gifts, birthdays, teacher gifts, any time you need something unique.
