Gateway Cafe

Great service! First time there, and it was Valentine's Day, so it was very busy. We got our food out in order of appetizers, salads, and then main course, and it all came in a timely manner. Our waitress had a great personality, even under the stress of the busy night. Steak was cook exactly as asked!

This place is a must try for sure. They are very busy so be aware that you may not have anywhere to park. The food was fantastic and the prices were minty. Our waitress was extremely polite and did an awesome job. Couldn't be happier with our experience.

I had an exceptional dining experience at Gateway Cafe. The highlight of my visit was undoubtedly the Philly cheese steak, which I can confidently say was the best I've ever had. The succulent slices of beef combined with perfectly melted cheese and sautéed onions created a flavor explosion that left me craving for more. The bread was fresh and added a satisfying crunch to every bite.

To accompany this delicious dish, I had their homemade ranch dressing. Creamy, tangy, and incredibly flavorful, the ranch was the perfect dipping sauce not only for the cheese steak but also for the accompanying fries. The combination of flavors was absolutely divine.

The ambiance at Gateway Cafe was cozy and inviting, providing a great backdrop for a delightful meal. The staff was attentive and friendly, ensuring that my dining experience was top-notch. If you're a fan of Philly cheese steak and crave exceptional flavors, Gateway Cafe is a must-visit. I can't wait to return for another round of their amazing dishes.

Absolutely great food. I was stuffed!!. And im fluffy. Well not .. Damn he fluffy.. Fluffy. Just a big guy. Love food and honestly i was shew I can not eat another bite full. Food was amazing. Staff was amazing.. And i always passed this place up. Im glad i did not this time. Its affordable and good.

This is a lovely bar/restaurant!! The lighting is a bit dark but it’s brightened up by plug in lights and other festive decorations - all of which make this place feel super homey! The bartender and our waitress were SO friendly & very accommodating. Our waitress had a great sense of humor & was willing to talk to us, and she even took interest in our lives (on the surface level). Again, this just made it feel super homey. It’s on the side of the road and doesn’t look like much from the outside but their food & service says otherwise!!! Stop by for a yummy lunch or dinner… or a drink. Great beverage menu :) 10/10 would recommend to any travelers or locals!

We stopped here passing through and we will be back if ever in the area! Food was delicious and service was excellent! Despite being short staffed and very busy, our waitress Morgan did a fantastic job! We got the Pepperoni Pizza and the Pittsburgh Sandwich! Both were great!

Great prices, great service, amazing food

First time here, and it was a really good experience! Recommend the Ruben sandwich, the best pastrami I've ever had!! Service was great, and our waitress NEVER forgot about us. Thank you, and keep it up!

Popular place, wish you had more parking... but when you can not find a place to park, that means the food is great!

Love this place! The food was good and the service was excellent! They have Karaoke on Wednesdays. We just missed it.. Next time we'll most definitely show up for karaoke night!

We had left a horrible experience at Valley Dairy to come here for ruebens. Our server was amazing...she was super friendly, got our order right & came back to check on us multiple times...and as the ruebens was recommended...it was very very good.

The fried mushroom appetizer had the freshest breading and came with a delicious dipping sauce. Definitely give it a try! The French onion soup was also a pleaser. Would love to come back and try more of their menu items.

Everything was wonderful! I forgot to take pics though. We had their homemade mushrooms for an appetizer...my favorite! For dinner I had pierogi and kielbasa because I just can't pass up pierogi!

Stopped for a late lunch while traveling passed Dubois. Had a burger and fries both delicious. If your coming off the interstate it's not to hard to find.

Came here with my gf and her gram. I got haddock with french fries and mac n cheese. The meal was good, the mac was so good and its hard to mess up french fries. The haddock had a little to much lemon pepper on it but thats a personal preference so I won't hold it against them. Our waiter was fantastic did everything you expect with no delay and it was busy when we went in. Excellent staff and food. Roughly cost $20 to $25 per person so prices were also fair.

I had a delicious sandwich on sourdough with Italian meats, coleslaw and fries. Everyone is so friendly. Thank you for excellent service and delicious food.

Another Critic's Corner!

Last night was another fun evening out with my friends. we decided to go to the Gateway Cafe for dinner and drinks.

We started with appetizers... my favorite was the fried green tomatoes. ( presentation of the FGT's was outstanding). We also enjoyed French-fried onion rings, pork pot stickers an unusual combination of Ginger and fried cabbage)... and hot pepper cheese balls with just the right amount of kick to them to satisfy the need for heat and not take away from the creamy cheesy flavor.

Ordering was a difficult decision, but I finally settled for the Gateway chicken. I was not disappointed. Again the presentation was delightful. And the grilled chicken was something I would order again.

Our server was very efficient and friendly.

One of our friends ordered steak salad and asked to have the stake reheated... there was no problem at all and when it came back to the table she was very pleased。

It was a very nice enjoyable evening. Service was great and food was terrific I would recommend 4 and 1/2 stars for this evening.

Would I recommend this restaurant to you? Absolutely

Atmosphere is very cozy. They made us feel very much at home. Food was fantastic. Delicious home made pierogies, cooked to perfection and delicious haddock for the main course. Yum! Great with Vanilla Porter!

Was looking for a place to eat in the Dubois area & were lucky enough to find Gateway Cafe! Great staff & excellent food! We will definitely be back! Thank you!😁

We had a great lunch today at the Gateway Cafe. I had the foot long fish sandwich and my wife had the Philly cheesesteak hoagie. Both were amazing. Check time was a little long but we'll worth the wait.

The food, drinks , atmosphere and service were great. I loved this place. We will be back!!!
