Shamokin Cemetery

It's a awesome place to sleep over when you're in town,minus the hard beds

It is a shame that this place is not taken care of. It has history, and , well, dead people in it. Sadly, now it is overgrown with weeds, used needles and shady people.

Creepy, unkept, not maintained very well at all, but still, people are just dying to get in there. Butt seriously, it's great for photography.

Overgrown. Poorly upkeep of the place. Sad really it was a nice cemetery.

If you are looking for people, unless you know exactly where they are, then good luck to you. It is entirely overgrown with grass and weeds three feet tall all over. I had an idea where my ancestors are buried but I could not reach the general area lest I wanted ticks or something. It's a shame because it's an old cemetery and could be beautiful.

A sad sight to see. Its been long forgotten by the city of Shamokin, and the survivor's of the Deceased. Hidden beneath the Overgrown weeds, among the other debree are the tomb stones and burial plots of many long forgotten members of the Shamokin area. The roads are barely drivable, the stones and walkways are crumbling apart, the trees are dieing and the large limbs having fallen in the roadways and throughout the cemetery making it very difficult as well. Its a shame how these community officials pay their respects to the dead. Especially knowing if it wasn't for these people you wouldn't have a community to rob from in the 1st place.

Haven't been to this cemetery in years since I moved away from Pennsylvania. Stopped by last week, and what a disappointment. Absolutely shameful. My grandfather worked and spent his own money to help maintain this place, and now I know why he refused to be buried here when he passed. He knew this place would not be kept up. Do better.

The cemetery is in very bad shape.No one is taking care of the mowing. The steps up the hill are broken up, with a very big tree limb across it. Shameful condition, reflects poorly on the town.
