Montana Auto Museum

Amazing museum for a little town. Really about 5 separate museums. Autos were great and nicely displayed with great descriptions and great period black and white pictures. The prison was also interesting. Across the street is a toys of yesteryear museum, cowboy museum and more. People were so nice. This is a non profit. Parked my RV overnight in lot, no problem. I spent 4 hours there, probably more time than most. Great ice cream store is out front also. Add this to your list!! Also consider the National Park services Grant/Kohrs ranch a couple of miles north in same town. Make a full day in Deer Lodge, I did.

WOW, what a collection of autos! All arranged by year. Truly amazing!

As a car lover, I go to this museum each time I'm on vacation. They have many, many cars, ranging from the very first car clear up to 1970s and 1980s cars. It is connected to the prison museum which makes it easier to visit both. They have great displays of many old cars including Ford Model A's and Chevy Bel Airs. There are a lot of cars from the 1900s and 1910s that are not known very well. I recommend this car museum to anyone interested in old cars or wanting to learn more about cars. I will definitely come back to the Montana Auto Museum again.

The staff was helpful, with no issues. This is a gem for car buffs and just a fun place to look at old cars.

This place was AWESOME! I wish we had more time to explore it more. Would love to come back. TBH, didn't even get to see the antique car museum. The entrance fee allows you to go in all five of the museums on the block and we started in the old prison. I'm the manager of a 19th century jail/Sheriff's Office & residence, so it was very cool to see this old territorial prison. Much MUCH bigger than our old county jail, with many more areas to see. If I lived anywhere near here - I would definitely become a member!

What a wonderful gem of a place! Impressive collection. So many beautiful cars and fun cars that we have never seen before, definitely worth a look!!

Over 200 vehicles in pristine condition exhibited in a climate control environment. If you're in the area you should definitely stop by it is absolutely worth the detour. Located in Deer lodge, montana.

Cool selection of vehicles ranging from different periods of time. Nice variety of cars, unique and bold. Very nice place.

I’m not a huge car person but I was really impressed with what they had...Most of the cars were on loan.. 1 couple owned 88 of the 160 cars that are in the museum 🚙 🚗 🚙 🚗

Very reasonably priced, gift shop and a lot of ford's and Chevy early cars including a lot of the muscle car heavy hitters era also two museums in one with old state Montana prison next to it. The best thing as a traveler with a dog is they're allowed! Thank you for that much appreciated

A paradise for a car enthusiast. You can spend hours here analyzing hundreds of cars. Everything for late 1800s to late 1900s is here.

So many different vehicles from different eras! Definitely worth checking out! Plus they do a yearly vehicle raffle!

We we stopping in to visit the old prison, and this was an unexpected surprise. If you enjoy cars at all, it would have been worth it for just the Auto Museum.

Very few people, which was surprising given that there were so many beautiful cherried out classics, will be going again!

Lots of nice old cars and trucks. I like the old model A pick-up trucks the best. I think they have over 100 cars there.

not as cool as jail in my opinion, but the cars are still epic. very nice.

I've never seen so many autos from so many different eras in one place. Anyone who has ever driven a car should see this museum. There is something for everyone!
