Match

We have a great experience every time we come to Match! The service is always exceptional. We are not super frequent fliers, but the staff remembers our faces and is super friendly and welcoming. The drinks are phenomenal, well-balanced and complex. Our favorite is the rathbone—so refreshing! By far, the calamari is the best we have ever had, perfectly cooked and amazing texture and flavor. The portions are huge so it’s easy to over-order for a couple but perfect for larger groups to share. The atmosphere is cozy and warm. Our new go-to spot in SoNo!

This place never fails to amaze me. I love their food & drinks. The service is extremely professional & the bartender, Jimmy, is excellent. All of the staff is friendly. The atmosphere is calm and cozy. I highly recommend coming here.

tl;dr - Best gnocchi I’ve had in my life! Which says a lot, because I’ve tried many disappointing gnocchi. The bistecca alla fiorentina is also delicious but it’s a lot of food for 2 people.

Carpetbaggers - 6 fried Norwalk oysters with truffle cream, truffled steak tartare, and truffle aioli. As someone who doesn’t usually enjoy oysters, these made me want to grab seconds. (10/10)

Tuna tartare - Comes on top of a large cracker which is a bit tough to cut, and is drizzled with sweet soy and an avocado sauce. It had a bit too much sweet soy sauce for my taste. (8/10)

Octopus frites - Braised and charred octopus with fried red potatoes. Solid dish, I’m just not the biggest octopus fan. (7/10)

Greek salad - Lettuce, diced tomatoes, and feta cheese, served on a warm spanakopita (Greek spinach pie with feta cheese). It’s a nice salad, but it doesn’t compare with the other dishes I tried. (8/10)

Bistecca alla Fiorentina - 60 oz Porterhouse, served with broccoli, mashed potatoes, pearl onions, and a bordelaise sauce. It says it’s for 2 people, but it’s so much food that it’s really for 3-4. So delicious if you can find people to share it with! (10/10)

Gnocchi - Gnocchi is usually my least favorite type of pasta. I’m not a fan of their texture, and how they get stuck to the roof of your mouth. But this gnocchi dish was my favorite of the night and probably the best gnocchi I’ve ever had. They’re tossed with peas, mushrooms, spicy Italian sausage, thyme, shallot and cream. The flavor and texture was heavenly. (10/10)

Strawberry rhubarb crisp - Warm fruit topped with an oat crumble, served with pistachio gelato. Delicious way to end the meal. (9/10)

Easily one of the best restaurants in CT in my opinion. Consistently amazing and inspired dishes. Checks every box! From ambience to lovely staff… so happy you survived the pandemic.

Delicious food and amazing atmosphere. The decor here is perfect and mixed with live music and great food, this place is great. I had the Steak Fritias which was a very large portion cooked perfectly. We also had most of the appetizers on the menu (we had a large group) and they were all amazing. There is a great selection of wine to chit from and the staff was very attentive and friendly.

Match is one of our favorite weekend spots to have great food and great ambiance. The service is generally friendly and great.
The steak tartare is fantastic as an appetizer or main course. The pizzas are good for anyone from kid to adult.

Nick H our Server was perfect! He allowed me to go off menu with a drink, was super attentive, pleasant and guided us through our experience. Someone had told me match was their favorite spot, so I had to see for myself. Let me tell you it wasn’t a let down in anyway service,food and drinks were all 5 stars. Check out the burrata and their fried Oysters.

First time eating here and one of best experiences we have had. Nick and Susan were so welcoming and helpful since we didn’t know what to get. Excited to bring my family here to experience what we had.

Been coming here for more than 13 years. Our favorites seared wasabi tuna, arugula salad and chicken with potato au gratin has stayed consistently good through the years.

The service was great and eveything we had was delicious. My wife and I shared the Ceasar Salad and garlic bread (I highly recomend the bread) and then we had the Truffel Pasta and Steak Frites. The pasta had tons of thinly shaved truffle on top yet the flavor was well balanced with the cream sauce and therefore not overwhelming like truffle can sometimes be. The steak was also flavorful and delicious and cooked perfectly! Lastly we ended with the chocolate shuffle. Further we had the Match Margarita and the Belle Mule which were very very large and also delicious.

On December 22, 2023, our party of five faced delays and seating issues at a restaurant located in The Waypointe, where the owner's unprofessional behavior disappointed us. Dissatisfied, we left and were immensely grateful to the manager at Match, who accommodated us with a last-minute reservation. Thanks to the manager and Pete, our host, our evening at Match turned out to be one of the best dining experiences. We won't be returning to the unmentioned restaurant in The Waypointe but highly recommend Match for those seeking a positive dining experience.

I can't imagine Washington St. without Match, good thing we don't have to.
I've had Swordfish, Scallops and Steak Frites over the years, and they truly are amazing, but I alway yearn for their Match Burger. Whatever you get you can't go wrong, that's what makes them great! Service is alway warm and friendly.

This place is AWESOME. Expensive but to be honest, the price was lower than I expected given the ingredients. The carpetbagger was amazing - oysters with steak tartar and a truffle aioli. Wow. Will return!

I feel like such an A-hole for never having dined here all these years as Match has been consistently rated one of the best restaurants in Norwalk and Ffield county, and for good reason! Peter our waiter was a magnificent host and all of his recommendations were spot on, the cocktail program is top notch, the quality of all the food is unrivaled, the wine selection is spectacular, and the space itself is warm and inviting. I can’t even recommend any one dish, order anything and/or everything and you won’t be disappointed! Will definitely be back soon and often!

Nice place to visit. I liked their selection of drinks, specifically the "safe ride" section. I am not from the area so, it was perfect to hung out with my friend and had a safe drink and drive back to the place I was staying.

This place is fantastic! I often went here to celebrate or for a nice date night out. The lava cake was always a favorite and they have such a unique menu!! Love the big purple couches it’s a very swanky atmosphere

Match is 100% my go-to restaurant. The food is always amazing, the drinks are fresh, and the service is great.
