Mambo Bar & Restaurant

My first time here. The food was excellent! I had shrimp in garlic sauce with veggies, with a side of yellow rice and beans - superb! My friend had paella with sweet plantains and yellow rice. We sat on the patio to enjoy our meal. And our waitress was very attentive and very quite knowledgeable about the menu. High recommended! I WILL be back! Thank you!!!

Awesome find. They weren't busy at all but wow was the food great. We had arroz con pollo (rice with chicken) with a side of maduros (sweet plantains) and pibil (pork) with yellow rice that came with a delicious soup/sauce. Plates were enormous and we left way too full with to-go boxes in hand. Very happy and will be back. Thank you!

I've been here a couple times. The owner and staff are such warm people. Come if you've got a big appetite.

The food is really good and really large portions. Very very filling and delicious! Empanadas are yummy!

Just a really good time ! The rest of the town had events , bands , etc but they were kinda boring. Took my white behind to Mambo and let me tell you something: Spanish people know how to have fun !! Everyone was super nice , very welcoming, and they MAKE YOU dance lol. Such a fun night !!!! 😊 Definitely going back. Couldn't even tell you the last time I danced.

Great staff , tasty and fresh food, very clean place including the bathroom, nice atmosphere, super friendly staff , you can come and sit with your family. Price it's affordable , you won't regret 😉. Definitely more than I expected. Highly recommended 👌 👍 👏 💯 🙌

Consistently one of Connecticut's best ethnic restaurants. I get the seafood mufungo with sweet (yellow) plantains. Also the deep fried crispy whole red snapper. Guava juice that I cut 50/50 with water without diluting the flavor. Fantastic authentic food from the Dominican Republic. Large-diverse menu selection with both indoor & outdoor seating overlooking the water east of the restaurant.

Always a great experience here. Whether its coming in during the week for a bite to eat or on the weekend for some dancing.... mambos never disappoints. The owners are very customer orientated; the servers and bartenders that they employ are very well versed; with a "can do!" attitude and a willingness to go the extra mile to keep the customer's happy.

Love the food there, nice view you can actually see the pier and ships from the balcony.. Drinks are awesome too.. Just a really nice place to dine in

Loved the old Mambos and Love the new one! same great food for the same great prices. Stew Chicken was great as well as the Garlic lobster and chicken quesadillas! To much to list Not to mention the Passion fruit Juice.... Prices are Very fair and i have no complaints at all. Staff is very friendly and always willing to help you in any way possible. This is a MUST GO! (if you like good food)

Phenomenal authentic Dominican food with a beautiful view.

Came here to eat food from back home, and I got more than that. Not only the food was amazing, the atmosphere of the place vibrant. Listening to music, and eating till you are stuffed. Makes being in CT a lot closer to home. I Approve 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

So much fun!! The first time we were nearby for an event on the water and decided to see what was happening on Bank Street. We opened the door to a bar and the lights were bright and there didn't seem to be much music. Not what we were feeling so we backed out and went further to Mambo which was so much fun! Delicious varieties of mojitos - coconut or passion fruit are our favorites. There are also tasty empenadas that go well after a night of dancing. Can't dance? Neither can I! People are very cool and helpful and will show you how if you're not sure. The staff remembered us from our first visit, which was about a year in between. So cool - a great place in New London!

I've been coming since they opened and I've never had a bad meal or bad service. Literally everything is good. Great to sit outside on a summer day or night too.

Definitely get the mofongo! They are one of the best Latino restaurants in the area. At night they convert into a dance club which is also awesome because there are not a lot of Latino/Hispanic clubs in CT.

I loved their soup & white rice and empanadas, especially on a cold wet day.

We went to Mambo's during the Sail festival. And the food was fresh and amazing. The staff was wonderful. We had a great experience. And will be going back.
