A beautiful coffeeshop that's spacious with plenty of seating arrangements, fairly priced food options, and a beautiful view of the harbor and the train tracks. The decor hints of seaside and sports themes, and when I was there 70's & 80's music was playing. They even had a jukebox, but I couldn't tell if it worked. The food is quite delicious, and service is decently fast with drinks and pastries served almost immediately! I had the hummus sandwich, and it was a lot even for me, but it was well worth the price!

Overall, the atmosphere alone makes this my new favorite coffee shop, the staff are fantastic, and the food is equally as delicious! This place is pretty popular so expect a lengthy line to get in if you're not getting in early!

A great place to have a sandwich or a salad. The portions are large so you could actually split an order and not go away hungry. I ordered the turkey sandwich and could not finish it. I bet there was close to a half pound of turkey on the sandwich. If you finish your main course there are pastries that look fantastic. When the weather is pleasant the views of the harbor from the deck in the back of the restaurant is hard to surpass. Some of the patrons like to hang out and read a book or perhaps write one. A very friendly place. Shout out to the staff who are friendly and helpful. They make you feel like you are always welcomed.

This is without a doubt the best place to get a hearty full breakfast in the New London area. It is also the best place for flaky pastries and other sweets. They have a wide selection of homemade cookies and croissants and muffins and scones. We’ve been there several times and never had a bad meal. The deck has been expanded and it offers a panoramic view of the Thames River, passing trains, and even submarines being built across the water. Staff is friendly and efficient.

I have been coming here for months now, I love this place. They recently updated their back deck with tons of seating and a new portico. It is a great place to sit outside and watch the trains, submarines, and ferries. It can get pretty busy but I have never had a problem finding a seat. The service is phenomenal too - very friendly staff. Hands down the best spot to study, chill, and/or code in New London possibly the region. They also have an extensive vegetarian menu and if you sub out a few ingredients on many of their menu items you can have a superb vegan meal. The PB&J is delicious as is the Lust Salad (or try the Lust Grinder) - and the hummus wrap is pretty darn good too. It would be awesome if they carried tofu - hopefully one day they will add it to the menu.

Haven't been here in a bit but am amazed that this place actually became better. Still cozy inside and now the deck in back is awesome! Haven't been? Why not? Parking is right in a lot across the say so that is no excuse. So well worth the stop. If you do stay for a bit. You will love it.

I had planned this cafe as a break point during a road trip leg from Stamford to New Bedford.
Boy did I make a good choice. I could have parked directly outside but rather than chance going around the block I opted for an easy spot in the nearby Eugene O'Neill Dr Parking lot.
A short walk onto Bank Street and paradise awaited. What a find. Opening the door, the visitor is greeted with an eyefest of bric a brac.
Objects of interest cover every conceivable space. There is even a retro juke box.
As if this wasn't enough, there is a patio at the back, overlooking the railway track and the ferry landing. So much of interest there is little time to absorb the contents of the menu.
The staff were very welcoming and attentive. This is a hidden charm and well worth dropping off the highway for an unforgettable experience.

First time visiting the area and this beautiful coffee shop. Service was good despite how busy they were. While I was waiting for my coffee, my phone went off. It was a text from my wife. To my abject horror and dismay, I learned that her and my (former) buddy Steve had been sleeping together behind my back and were now taking the kids and house. My surprise ended when I heard my name called for my coffee. Finally, I sat down outside, admiring the wonderful view, determined not to let my wife’s infidelity get the better of my day. A single tear rolled down my cheek. Fantastic coffee and atmosphere, I highly recommend Muddy Waters Cafe!

BEST. COFFEE. EVER.
My son was obsessed with the BLT wrap with jalapeño bacon 🥓😋
I have the love salad, so good.
Atmosphere is spot on, sit inside and stay cool or sit on the outdoor patio and watch the water. Hands down the coolest Cafe I've been to in a while. 10/10 would always recommend!

What a fantastic, maybe the best place to enjoy breakfast, which was amazing, and an iced latte, again great! Trains and boats and what?!!! A Nuclear Submarine?!! This place rocks! Service was exceptional, very courteous men and women working there. Did I mention the food? Great! Can't wait to visit again!

Very friendly service. The coffee was delicious. I had an iced coffee with just a little bit of milk and it was one of the best coffees I have had. A nice real coffee roasted flavor. DELICIOUS...They cooked The Bagel exactly how I asked them to and it came out just great. If you like extra cream cheese definitely be sure to ask for it as they don't give a huge amount. Overall very cute Place, amazing coffee and the order came out In Like 5 minutes even with being well done and a Saturday morning rush... Will definitely return When in the area

We have been coming to Muddy Waters Cafe for last couple of years every Sunday. The atmosphere is lively ( college & Coast Guard students ) and although usually crowded, the line moves quickly. Great egg sandwiches on fresh bagels, pastries, sandwiches and salads. Tomato soup is delicious. The back deck is wonderful to watch activity in the harbor and Amtrack trains. Hopefully it will reopen soon after a fire in their basement . The employees are friendly and very efficient. Totally recommend if in New London.

Cute and homey! Lovely customer service; even under the masks. Amazing breakfast sandwiches and even better coffee. The egg, spinach, caramelized onion and ricotta cheese on a croissant was to die for. Definitely will be back.

Cozy and very nostalgic feeling inside. But creeped out by the mannequin behind the door haha. The Cuban coffee I got was really good! Probably the best espresso I’ve had in my life (can’t say the same for the iced latte though). My friend really wanted to talk to Casey’s dad here and Mr. Neistat was nice enough to do so, we really appreciated it.

I always pass New London on the train and I see this cafe. Today, I finally jumped out of the train and went in. I ordered garden salad with chicken and larege coffee. They were really good. The staff is very friendly. The nice view from the back terrace. I dig the nice chilling vibe.

A world-class coffee shop, filled to the brim with Americana style, on Bank Street in downtown New London. The staff were friendly, the food was delicious and the views onto the Thames were breath-taking. I highly recommend the breakfast sandwich with egg, spinach, and ricotta. I only got to try the crumb cake this visit but will be back soon for another run at the baked goods.

Lovely place to be in! Whether you're visiting NL or a local. I would recommend coming here! Clean and friendly environment, with a deck out back with a gorgeous view as well. The food was delicious!!! I had this seasonal herb chicken with pesto, mozzarella cheese, spinach and Sweet peppers. I can't wait to have it again. 👍🏻

This place is absolutely, positivity outrages 100% perfection all around. The atmosphere is perfect as is all the service, food and beverages. The owners are very kind and caring people. Let's not forget all the employees hard work on a daily basis. Oh, and the manager what a good guy always has a smile on his face. This is the best place in New London for a great meal and beautiful sights of the Thames river scenery.

There is so much to look at in this place, and while it was nice to sit outside and look at the water, there is much for the eyes to feast on inside. We went on a Sunday morning, and you could hardly get near the place. Well worth the wait.

Great coffee shop. I loved the old vibe, and I love the new vibe (although I wish they kept a few more of the couches). Keeps the flame alive on the Hughie's Love salad/sandwich. If you've never gotten it, get it! Basically it's a Greek salad on a crusty Italian bread roll. Also, my wife lived off of the baked goods while she was pregnant.
