I’ve been here several times with my 9 yo daughter and had services myself. This salon is so, so good! Washed, detangled and blow dried my daughter’s hair in 30 minutes (usually takes me 2.5 hours 🫣). My daughter loved her experience here (first time at a salon) and will keep going back. They are timely and efficient—service starts on time and I’m in and out in no time. Aja is incredibly kind and knowledgeable about both natural and processed hair. This hidden gem is our new spot—so glad we found them 😊.

Customer service and caring for the health of the hair is very important to me and salon journey is amazing. A friend referred us to them and we’ve been going over a year despite living 45 minutes away. We are here faithfully every three weeks and I don’t care about having to make the drive because the service is that good. The team is pleasant, the salon is clean, the atmosphere is children friendly, making appointments is a breeze. We accidentally missed an appointment and have been late arriving to other appointments and even if we could not be accommodated due to our lateness, we have always been respected and cared for. My daughter is tender headed and still complains that getting her hair braided hurts but coming here has saved our relationship (since we’re not fighting over me doing her hair), her hair is healthy, and she’s always really happy with the outcome. I’m very thankful.

Took my 19 month old daughter to get her hair braided for the first time ever at a salon. Everything was such a breeze. My daughter was comfortable and we loved the whole experience. As a first timer, I really appreciated the text and picture updates throughout the service it gave me a peace of mind. S/o to the staff who are just so so sweet, patient and professional. We will definitely be coming back. This our new home :)

This place is a miracle, especially if you are a parent of a special needs child! My 4-year old daughter did wonderful, no tears. Most importantly, she loved her hair, had confidence, and wanted to immediately show her daddy! Thank you Salon Journey!

My daughter loved her first experience! She had a silk press wash and trim. Salon clean stylist were amazing and her hair looked great!

My daughter had her hair done this morning and I am always happy with the results. I also get my hair braided from time to time as well. Staff is pleasant and ALWAYS on time! My daughter had an early am appointment and her stylist called me to let me know she was 5 minutes behind in which I appreciate. We live in Waldorf now and we make the commute because of the great service!

I take my daughters here regularly. My girls always love there experience and look forward to each trip there. The staff is friendly and the atmosphere is organized and clean. The salon usually has a kids movie on so that the children are entertained while getting their hair braided. So happy we found this place! 5 Stars for sure.

Ms. Aja (owner) and her stylist are very professional, always on time. My daughters (7) & 4 years old love coming here. My youngest daughter was very tender headed. Ms. Aja is like the baby whisper for small kids. She makes them feel comfortable & she no longer cries when she gets her hair done. Ms. Breana is also very gentle, & the kids love her! Do me a favor & bring your kids here. I even have started getting my hair done as well. In & out in less than two hours for all 3 of us.

Extremely pleased with everything about the salon. This was my 3 year old daughter's first time.... and as soon as it was time to go back, my daughter seemed nervous and ran back to me. The stylist gently grabbed her hand and as she walked back with her, she said "Everyone, say Hi Harper" 🙂 That warmed my heart just making her feel comfortable! Her hair looked great and we booked for another two weeks! 🙂

Did a wonderful job on my daughter's natural hair at a very reasonable price. She has really long hair and they didn't charge an arm and leg and they were very fast.

I had a bad experience at another salon and was devastated with the outcome. My daughter recommended Salon Journey because of their knowledge and expertise. Aja looked at my hair and gave me sound advice and options to heal my hair. I am loving ❤ the results. The staff creates a caring environment, the children are dropped off and they nurture your kids and they are gentle. I love the results. They look so cute!

Simply amazing! The stylist here are always friendly, professional and smiling. They take pride in what they do and it shows. My kids love coming here to get their hair done and no matter what the staff are always accommodating. The salon is always clean and very kid- friendly. I have no worries when I drop my daughters off to get their hair done. The stylist here truly love what they do! Definitely the only establishment I would recommend for kid services.

I am glad that I learned about Salon Journey from a friend. My daughter is very sensitive to getting her hair styled ('tender-headed'). That has not been an issue since going to this salon for her braids, twists, and trims. She has enjoyed the experience since the salon is child-centered and they are very gentle with her hair.

In addition to shampoo and conditioning services with each style, they also offer treatment and trim options.

The staff at Salon Journey is very professional, friendly and the salon atmosphere is pleasing and comfortable. Jasmine did a great job! I’ve gotten compliments from quite a few of my friends and associates on how nice my hair looks. Salon Journey is definitely my “go to” place when I wanted to get my hair braided!

Best silk press ever! Let’s just say if I lived here my whole family would be coming to Salon Journey. The service was excellent. The owner Asa greeted me as soon as I walked through the door and sat me down at a shampoo bowl. The stylist I had was Zaniah. She was not only good she was fast, vey polite, and professional. The shop was clean and well kept. The atmosphere was very family friendly they had shows and movies that were age appropriate for the kids and even what they played for adults was still family friendly. The prices were good as well. I didn’t come for braids , however the customers getting braids hair looked excellent. I would definitely come here for all my hair needs. **Pictures below my hair a week before the silk press and my hair after.

This was a very pleasant first visit. My 6 year old grand daughter needed a trim, hydration and cornrows. They communicated with me before doing any services and my grand daughter absolutely loves it. Briana did a wonderful job and we will definitely be back!

First time at Salon Journey however they came highly recommended by multiple people. Briana was amazing! She was professional, had a soft touch and was really efficient. Will definitely be booking all my knotless braids appointments with her! Thank you!

I used Salon Journey to wash and braid my natural hair in the past, so when it was time to bring my baby girl I was super excited. They were extra kind and worked really hard to calm the anxieties of my two year old. In the end, she walked out looking super cute. I definitely can’t wait for our next experience!
