J's Pizza & Steak House

Awesome little friendly restaurant in quaint downtown Clarinda, IA. Was not craving pizza so I went with the grilled chicken. It was very well prepared and came with a wonderful side salad. Cheap $3 Miller Lite, too!

The cheeseburger pizza is the best we have ever had. I always have to get my sisters the coconut cream pie. Friendly staff, I would give more than 5 🌟

Great food lots of room ,bacon was the real deal all meat light smoke , yum.

Great employees great food. Pizza was great lots of cheese and meat on our pizza pie. Our appetizer that we had were breaded mushrooms that were very tasty as well. You have to go there to see for yourself! WOW we love it so much, we will be going back for sure. Yum!

Waitress was very attentive even though she was busy. Brought food and drinks very fast. Checked to see if we needed anything. Asked how we wanted check divided without having to bring it up. Food was good, hot and plenty, so some came home in doggy bag. Website was up to date when I checked the evening before when thinking 🤔 about where to go in Clarinda, that included the menu. Home cooked comfort food.

Ribeye steak sandwich was perfect! We've had the pizza before too and it was pretty good! Our waitress was sweet and very prompt even though the place was packed! The atmosphere was the typical very busy uptown pizza and steakhouse atmosphere. I would travel the hour drive anytime to eat there again!

Possibly the best prime rib I ever had. Delicious. Will go back in a heartbeat.

We eat there at least every other Saturday and honestly we have no complaints. The food is always good and definitely worth the price! The servers do their best since it is always busy and the cooks are amazing! We will continue to go back probably until we die!

Food was great. Best ribeye I've had in a long time. Cooked to perfection. My wife's pizza was tasty. Perfectly sauced and cooked. Waitress was very friendly and attentive. Great experience..

Good food. Generally crowded during peak times - not a lot of seating unless they open the second or third rooms, which they rarely do for some reason. Cute decor. Prices are average for an eat in restaurant, so not a cheap place. Their pizzas are super cheesy, and they're very generous with toppings. Other meals are good too, especially the pasta combo plates.

We had a large group 23 people and everything was great. Waitress was attentive and did awesome. Nothing was mixed up . Food was great. We had pizza a burger and chicken strips. Everything came out hot and delicious. Wait time was reasonable. Prices were reasonable. There was some more expensive items on menu but I was happy with price.

Went here for New years Eve with our grandma. The food was delicious and the service was great. It was very busy, with being new years eve, but it was still enjoyable.

Crowded and busy during a weekday lunch, but that is to be expected if you provide good food and good service. They had a chicken strip meal on special, which I wouldn't normally order but the price was too good to pass up. When the meal arrived, the tenders appeared to be home made, and the fries and tenders were cooked perfectly.

Very friendly service, food was delicious! Got a pizza and it was VERY cheesy if you like that. Somewhat of a thin crust. But 😋 delicious!

My family went to J's for my dad's birthday. We had a meat lover's pizza, the rib eye sandwich, spaghetti, lasagne, fried cauliflower, cheese balls, and beer. Everything was fabulous. The server was friendly and took excellent care of us. I highly recommend this restaurant.

We always enjoy our meals at J's. Jay, Carmen and the entire team present consistently delicious food. The waitstaff are a great group. Always checking on you without being intrusive. It's a great place for lunch and dinner.

The Cheeseburger Pizza is legit. Sometimes I contemplate driving the 1,596 miles just to get one to go. The owner has always been a big contributor to the community and his whole family makes you feel welcome.

Delicious family owned pizzeria. They use a special cheese which gives it a sweet anf tangy flavor. It taste simply delicious. My son Noah's favorite pizza place.
