Dollar General

I was just in the Overland store on Woodson, and I was greeted extremely pleasantly by the cashier on duty. Once I got my items to the check-out, she continued to be extremely friendly and even complimented me on my hat. She did drop my milk, but having worked both the dairy dept. and registers at a chain grocer on the east coast,- all I could do is laugh. I wanted to get her name so I could place it here in the review. I was hoping it was on the receipt, but I have social anxiety, so I was unable to get it off her tag.

Give this employee a raise!

Making customers feel special is not an easy task, and it's good indicator why self-checkouts are becoming universally despised. You can't get service like that with a kiosk.

Quick stop for last minute items I forget while shopping elsewhere. Stores a little cramped but they have what I need and the workers are very nice and helpful. The store is usually clean and well stocked. Just not very much room. Other than the cramped space the store is a great place to have so close for the nights us moms are rushing for last minute lunch items or project boards even markers, stickers or decorations for party's as well as all your paper products and beauty needs from nails to lotions. Cute little toys for the kids if they do well while we shop too that are reasonably priced. So we all leave with a smile!

Called to ask if they had box fans. Woman on the phone was very polite and cheerful. Very pleased with the service! A+

Dollar General on Woodson is THE place to go! The manager Mike (the tall one cause there are two) is a phenomenal person. He was kind, helped me find my things, and told me about some great offers on here. Kory, (Cashier) was also very quick with scanning my items and we had a lovely chat about the day. Overall: great prices, fantastic customer service, and one heck of a place to go when you're feeling down! 5 stars!

Update; December 15, 2019.

The staff is always friendly and helpful, but went above and beyond today.

After purchasing my goods, I went to my car. After getting buckled in I was unable to locate my phone. Obviously, panic mode struck in. I looked all around my car, to no avail. I went back inside and looked through the carts and at the counter, but no phone. Even a customer helped me. Still no phone to be found. The associate working the register let me use the landline but 3 attempts just sent me to voicemail, my phone was not off nor on vibrate. I went out to my car again, but still could not locate the phone.

I went back inside and the associate who was stocking helped me dial again, but still just went to voicemail. I started walking up and down the aisles and asked a guy if he'd seen a phone, he had not. I was down a couple aisles and looked back down towards the guy and asked if he could dial the phone and maybe we could hear it ring. He offered as did Mike, I think he is the manager. Mike called, it rang, but we could not hear it. He had me go out to my car and then he called again. I heard it ringing! It was under the front driver seat. I answered and thanked him.

So, not only a heartfelt thank you to the staff at the Woodson DG but big hugs and very Merry Christmas to the 3 guests in the store who helped me as well. They stopped what they were doing, stocking up on necessities during a snowstorm to help a stranger. I love my Overland neighborhood!

I hope corporate reads this so they can know, and acknowledge the staff at this location for the excellent customer service.

Surprised how many good items are iffered. I will never go to family dollar again. Between the two, this store is by far the winner. Lots of craft items, coloring books, purses, wallets. 2 female workers were nice as well

A lot of Dollar General stores in my area at least are quite messy at this location they go above and beyond expectations and the store is always in order. The staff is always willing and ready to help as well.

Store seemed kind of cluttered but still able to shop and find what I was looking for at the time. The cashier was very nice and I was greeted as I walked in the door. And when I left.

They are very well stocked and polite staff. I like going there every other week

well it is relatively new store,,It is a typical DG but with a very pretty cashier,,and friendly to..Like usual the prices and selection are good maybe even great,,it is like an Aldi and Walmart rolled up in one mini store..LOL,

The bigger bag of dog food wasn't on the shelf. I asked Travis if there was any in the back. He looked and located a bag for me. Saved me from spending $3 on a small bag and a trip to another store.

Allways extremely nice and always have everything i need and i find some really good sales every time i go

I love this place. Right down the street from home, great customer service, clean store and the shelves are always stocked!

My go too spot after work or need to get in and out quickly constantly adding new things to their inventory.

This is a great Dollar General Store! They always have the sale items and they have some of the friendliest employees and that can be hard to find now days!

I found everything I was looking for I'm glad Dollar General is now has acrylic paint for crafts and the cashier was very very nice lady
