Saint Luke's South Hospital

I was especially impressed with Dr. J. Michael Donohue, the ER Doctor. He was thorough but his kindness was special. He took time to listen to me (heart condition) and ordered a series of tests that revealed further problems with my heart. It was because of his caring insight that I made the decision to enter hospice. I will always remember him for being special. I wish I could nominate him for a St. Luke's award.

I had my Hernia repair operation on Feb. 13th.

As you can determine from my records, I have had a few surgical procedures at St. Lukes and other facilities. None of us wants to have surgery but this last experience was the smoothest (from admitting thru discharge) and easiest to cope with I have experienced. The people involved were terrific and of course the surgery was perfect. Thanks Dr. Slayden !

Easy recovery, I was up and going the next day.

I went to Saint Lukes South recently for an MRI of my ankle, and it was just as positive as I expected. Normally I volunteer at this location, so I had a pretty good idea how well patients are treated, and I was too. From the smooth check-in process at Admitting to my on-time arrival at Radiology. I didn't wait long at all til Kristin came to get me; she was very personable, professional and friendly, and even asked me what my favorite music was so that I had something else to listen to besides the MRI clanging. From beginning to end, very smooth, well managed and clearly professional. This location is a great place to get care.

I had the best experience from start to finish. My pre-op nurse was so warm and attentive. My OR team was absolutely amazing. Made me feel so comfortable. Dr. Hinchey is absolutely the best.

I was there for an outpatient surgery. Was treated with kindness and respect. Had no problems,. No delays. I was home by 1pm. Facility was clean. They answered my questions and took care of me.

Good services and people just waiting how much the cost will cover by the insurance.. lol

The staff and nurses were happy and caring. The rehab staff was amazing and a joy to work with. The were very halpful. I was very happy with the day to day help I received. Not to happy about the menu, not enough to choose from. My orders I called in got lost a few time but the food was ok.

I had sameday surgeries for abdominal ventral hernia repair at SLHS. I had a positive experience. I really don’t think my pain was at an adequate level >5/6 out of 10 to be discharged. I was 9/0. This is my pain perception and was not asked to share my pain perception. I know it’s difficult to manage pain on same day surgeries especially in the afternoon. Staff was wonderful and I received excellent health care. I would likely ask to have earlier in the day surgery to better manage pain prior to discharge. Anesthesia and crew were also great. Dr Moore and team are the best! Thank you for the positive experience. I realize pain is to be expected post op.

St Luke’s South has been a favorite of mine for over 20 years ago when my son was 2, and at the time Dr. Dawn Peterson was our doctor. I had issues from another hospital (OMC) in Olathe, KS recently on Thursday, December, 28, 2023 on a late night. Waited to long at OMC and Resorted back to my roots 20 years ago. They got me right in (thank you to my beautiful intake receptionist (TJ) checking in). The nurse Madison took extra special care of me and Doctor Michael Donahue had the best bed side manner. It made me fall in love with St Luke’s all over again ❤
The staff that took extra care of me was Awesome: the charge nurse, Lilian, James, Michelle, Mary, John, virtual Amber. Also I can not forget the other awesome Dr’s, Dr. Jane Kamerun and Dr. Zink (Cardiologist Specialist). 👏🏽👍🏽🙏🏽

Pretty amazing. Went to ER with a complex UTI. Thirty minutes later was rolled across the hall to the hospital side. A few days later they figured out that only double doses of antibacterial through my IV would kill the infection. Then I got in-home hospital care: Nurses/paramedics came to my house twice a day to give the meds/ take samples. Lab couriers came to the house for blood/urine specimens. Pharmacy techs dropped off my daily meds. I had instant communication with medical staff through a touch screen, telephone, and a button lanyard. So, all the care of a hospital, but I could bake cookies and let the dog out.

I recently had lab work, Complete UA Sonogram, and an annual cancer checkup (had renel cell carcinoma, left kidney removed 7 1/2 yrs. ago). Doctor Ryan Miller is my Urologist and Surgeon who removed my kidney and has treated me the entire time. I'm cancer free, and I attribute this to Dr. Miller's exceptional care. He is an incredibly remarkable surgeon, and human being, who has my highest possible recommendation.

I was in Saint Luke's South Hospital for AFIB. Two days I was there I was treated fast, getting the medication I needed. Everyone was great from the doctors and nurses to the cardiac care people. My family I will always go to Saint Luke's with any heath emergency we have.

I received excellent care at St. Lukes South Rehab Hospital. Doctors, nurses, nurse assistants, and Physical Therapists were all very helpful. Everyone had very good dispositions. I would also like to thank food service. I don't recall having a meal I didn't like.

I had a large hiatal hernia repaired by Dr. Moore at the hospital. He did an excellent job on the surgery. All the staff that I encountered were respectful and professional. I would recommend Dr. Moore and his staff to anyone needing a similar surgery. The hospital itself was very clean and the equipment seemed up to date.

my mother received the kindest care at St Lukes. The socal worker and Palative care team was a blessing . My mon was very attached to her nurse Paige. Great experience in a very hard time.

Dr. Rioux-Forker and his staff were amazing! They always treat me as if they care and are so willing to listen to my questions. Also, the staff at St. Luke’s South in the surgery department are so good! I’m so glad I had access to them because they truly care about the patient.

the nursing care excellent for each shift each day. My room was kept clean. the food was hospital food, but a little above average.
courteousness and caring were quite obvious.

I recently had surgery at Saint Luke's South. The doctors, nurses and staff treated me with great respect and kindness. They all took excellent care of me. I would highly recommend Saint Luke's South.

Dr. Bruce and Operating staff are top-notch professionals, fantastic with service protocols and treatment. Everything contingency is anticipated. St Luke’s live up to their name. Pre and Post OP staff are very special professionals who make patients feel like they are in a 5 star hotel before and after surgery. Thank You all.

I surprised how good the care was, really appreciated the friendly attitude everyone had and the doctors explaining my care I received. I got some ansewers when asked questions as well. I have doing a little better.
