McLain's Market Overland Park

My table of 4 loved everything we ordered and promised to come back again soon! I've had their sandwiches (via a drivethru) and their cakes at weddings but this was my first time inside the building. It was totally overwhelming in the best way possible. Multiple cases of cookies, pastries, and cakes; it made making our selections a little hard, and we ordered more than we could eat. Loved the quality of the food and very nice wait staff.

Can I give the service 10 stars? I went here on a day off work. Ordered one cup cookie. She told me it was on the house. Then I told her that’s so sweet since it’s my birthday. She proceeded to give me four. This small gesture meant so much to me. Food and coffee are always delicious. This is the Pepper Jack Burrito. A must visit in KC!

The ambiance of this spot is really awesome. I loved the set up and the lay out and the people there were all really nice.

I had some breakfast potatoes and lunch there too and it all tasted great and was really good quality. There are vegan options as well as vegetarian options and gluten friendly ones too.

This place is simply wonderful. The food is healthy, wholesome and so delicious. In a city full of outdated burger joints, McClain’s is such a breath of fresh air.

McClain's is popular enough that they definitely don't need my five-star review but they're going to get it anyway. This is an extension of their original bake shop off of Ward parkway in Missouri. My favorite baked item at McLean's will always be there shortbread thumbprint cookies with chocolate frosting. I will buy a dozen and eat them within 24 hours. It's an addiction. They also have a great variety of cakes, cookies, and rolls. They are pecan frosted rolls that come in a disposable tin are a favorite, as well. This location has a drive-thru which is very convenient. We stopped in yesterday and the line was long and the parking lot was full. It's a high quality bakery and there aren't many of those around so this is to be expected. They also have a lot of tables and seating where you can go and meet a friend, have a coffee or lunch. They have a lot of gift items focused around the kitchen as well. Even though they are very busy, the employees are all very friendly. They are bustling and just couldn't be nicer. They operate like a well-oiled machine. I would recommend this to visitors and anyone who hasn't been here before and loves a good bakery.

6 Stars!!! Somehow I've lived in the KC Metro for 20 years and only recently discovered this absolutely delicious bakery. I feel retroactively cheated! While I've loved all the pastries I've sampled, I must highlight the Pecan roll. It is the best I've ever had. I also highly recommend the scones, perfect crumb.

Stumbled upon this little gem while driving from Texas. The service is absolutely spectacular, you can tell the employees really care you have a great experience. The food is great and even the chips look homemade. The pastries are super light and absolutely delicious. I wish we had a McLain in Texas!

The portion sizes are smaller, which makes it a bit expensive! We went for brunch but ideal for breakfast or lunch.
We reached at 12pm and by then the bakery items were over. However I have tried them on my previous visit and I would recommend those too!

The Andy Blake Group had a wonderful event at McLain's for our annual Pie Day! From start to finish, the staff was reliable and prepared for what we needed to host our customer appreciation event. The space was perfect for handing out our pies, and the food/drinks were freshly prepared. We love having our event here each year, and plan to continue for years to come. Cannot describe how amazing it always is to be able to count on McLain's (staff, service, etc) for what we need. Thank you so much!

I was excited to attend a small intimate wedding and reception here. It was perfect for the occasion. I never would have thought or know that they could accommodate but they did fabulously.

McLain’s bakery is always consistent!!! I have a friend who loves cinnamon rolls. I tried and failed miserably! That is when you whip out your magic wand!… your phone. Ordered the rolls and picked up more taste bud vices. They are one of the few, best spots/go to in Leawood Kansas!!!

I truly can’t say enough about the service I receive at McLain’s today. I had the pleasure of being served by Eddie and he made me really feel welcome. He took time to talk about drinks, pastries, and travel with me, all while expediting service.

Stopped and shopped the bakery. Their thumbprint cookies are still fabulous, the pastries are always great. I tried the lueberry muffin loaf this time. Meh from me, but that is a first for me. I need to stop by and try lunch it looked very good as it was being carried out.

We hosted our daughter’s graduation party at McLains in OP and it was perfection. Mason and Addie were so helpful and made sure things were exactly as we wanted them. The space was perfect! We had live music on the patio, opened the garage doors and it was great! The food and drink of course was wonderful. Aubrey helped make the planning super simple and it was great to host this party with very little stress or work on my part thanks to the incredible team at MCLains. If you have an evening event I highly recommend renting this place out - you will not be disappointed!

I really enjoyed the food. Wish they had a few more gluten free choices but I still found things I wanted to eat there. They're always very fresh!

We had a great private event for my daughter and son in law’s baby shower. The food was wonderful, the staff were so helpful and we were just so impressed with everything. We highly recommend

I attended a private event hosted here and it was my first visit. The food that McLain's catered was incredible, with plenty of vegetarian-friendly options. I deeply enjoyed the Mediterranean salad. Everything else including crab cakes, incredible mac 'n cheese, rich spinach and artichoke dip to the diverse tray of sweets including chocolate covered strawberries, was high quality and craveable.

There are some artsy booth benches benches for dine-in that are super wobbly. I wouldn't recommend sitting on them because the movement from folks on the other will drive you bonkers. If I was the owner, I'd rip them out.

We visited McLain's Market for brunch one day and I was very impressed. They have SO many goodies you can buy from the bakery and a pretty decent brunch menu. I got the French toast and it was better than I have had in a while. Presentation of all their food is adorable (which I think makes the food taste better somehow). After breakfast I got a chocolate cake bite (dairy free, something else free?) and let me tell you, I would eat 10 of those every day.

The manager took my order and was very patient explaining all of my options for the French toast - there are a ton btw. I feel the price is reasonable for the quality of the food. The restaurant is rustic and adorable. It feels like an upscale backyard setting.

I will be taking my family there next time they're in town!

Great bakery. Stopped for breakfast, could have bought one of everything! Apple coffee cake was out of this world. Nice indoor and outdoor seating. Highly recommended!
