9/11 Memorial

A phenomenal tribute to the courage and memory of the 2,977 who were killed on September 11, 2001. From the piece of steel girder salvaged from the wreckage to the plaque engraved with all the victim's names to the four large panels that describe, in detail, the chronology and events of each portion of the overall disaster that day. I was moved and inspired as I spent about 30 minutes in this sacred place, taking it all in and contemplating this horrific event, and its savage impact on so many lives. Made me yearn for those days when we were a united people in this country.

This was a very well thought out and put together memorial honoring everyone that played a role or lost their life during 9/11. Highly recommend.

This touches my heart. As a fireman, I appreciate and respect it even more. It is not a huge one, but it is more than enough to teach you the reality of what happened. A very humbling & emotional experience

I would highly recommend this to anyone. It is close by and it lists all the names of people who died. There is also one of the beams involved on display.

This is the most memorable place I've ever seen. It's unbelievable but we know it's a fact of our lives.

Happened across the beautiful memorial. Very well done. Will have to stop back by when the weeping wall is operating or on 9/11 to see the sundial effect.

Never knew this was here. Very small, only a few things but still makes a good impact and serves the purpose of showing the younger generation what happened on that horrid day.

I took my kids here on Sept. 11th. Very humbling and memorial is tastefully done. We learned quite a bit and the list of names lost took our breath away.

Very humbling experience. The reflecting pools were peaceful. We were there during Fleet Week and got to see a promotional/re-enlistment ceremony on this hallowed ground

A solemn and respectful tribute to those who lost so much.

My wife and I were in New York City in September and visited the 9/11 memorial. When we stopped at the one here in Overland Park, a lot of the same emotions came over us. It is very touching and they did a wonderful job creating it and making a place for those that lost their lives can be remembered.
