Vernon Filley Art Museum

Hands down, my favorite place in Pratt. Love the ehibition and there’s always some new artwork and wonder to behold. It’s a small vibrant museum with a nice selection of local and nationally renowned artists. Architecturally the building has great value, there’s harmony on the exterior, which aligns with the optimal organization of the interior. There’s a good balance of light. The space, modern and essential, is very elegant.

This is a really wonderful small town at museum. Pratt is a really neat town to have such nice amenities such as the Filley. The exhibit space is open and bright. It's also much larger than it appears, there are several rooms to explore. They also have seasonal exhibits and programs. We went for the Christmas time musical lunch program that was delightful. Best part is that they exhibit local prairie artists. Do recommend.

I have visited the Filley Art Museum several times and have purchased over 10 different items. I have gifted several of the pieces purchased and each recipient has been thrilled. I have visited many different art vendors around the world, thanks to my military service, and I was impressed at the care the staff at the Filley provided to me, including service after the purchase.

I grew up in Pratt and very much appreciate the community investing in this facility and the Vernon Filley family being so generous. It is definitely an asset to Pratt and the surrounding community.

I visited this museum while passing through Kansas, and wow, was it beautiful. The exhibits were gorgeous, and I only wished they had more space so I could have seen more art during my time there. The staff were very knowledgable and were able to tell me in depth information about the exhibits that were up at the time, plus the other exhibits that have been shown at the Vernon Filley. They also told me about upcoming exhibits, which made me wish I lived closer to this small town gem! For such a small town, they boast a large range of very professional artists. And the gift shop is great as well - such a fantastic array of goods that anyone would love. The next time I'm in town I will certainly stop by to see what exciting new shows they have.

My wife and I visited the Vernon Filley Art Museum on a September weekend in 2015, and returned again the following week. We had the pleasant opportunity to visit with both the Museum Director and Executive Director. Having grown up in Pratt, we were both impressed that our home town could warrant such a fine institution, and impressed with the quality of the holdings and the knowledge of the staff. Well done!!!

First time there. Curator was very helpful and informative. Met affable president of board of directors who happened to be on site and he also shared about the museum. Saw wonderful Christmas exhibit which was being taken down and some very impressive art work in another gallery room. Museum has programs that they offer as well as art exhibits. I plan to keep returning to this site which is a treasure.

Well let's get started. The museum is small, but holds some very nice pieces of art, from the surrounding community. It also holds pieces from across the United States also, private collections, and three dimensional pieces. Also available is the opportunity for art classes on site, and other learning experiences. Included on the site is a gift shop, restrooms and drinking water! The Art directors are very knowledgeable and knows some history behind some of the pieces of art. It took me an hour and a half to tour the collection!

Pratt is a short drive from Wichita and offers four diverse quality museums that will satisfy the interests of everyone in the family.
The Filley Art Museum and the Native American Indian Gallery at the Historical Museum are both excellent !!!

Amazing Art Museum. The collection is tremendous. The co-directors are absolutely top notch. Gift shop is always overflowing with one of a kind pieces.
