Great China Restaurant

This is a staple to Independence, it is some of the best food in town. Sue and her family are very kind and get to know their customers. If you have a choice stop here you wont regret it. Atmosphere is awsome but bring cash that is the only currency accepted.

I've eaten Chinese all over the country. This is my favorite. Love the #1 for 2. 3 different dishes with soup and appetizers. Best egg drop soup anywhere. Egg rolls are great. Peach dipping sauce is different than I've had anywhere else and is a good complement to their uniquely spiced eggrolls.

Love this restaurant! It’s some of the best Chinese cuisine I’ve had anywhere. The veggies are fresh and not overcooked. The egg drop soup, as so many other reviewers have stated, is wonderful. Moo goo gai pan is my favorite entree so far but I look forward to trying additional items. The combo plates are very reasonably priced and portions are good-sized. I’m going back again tonight!

It is amazing food place!! The owners are super nice! They do not except card or out of town checks so bring your cash! I recommend trying the wonton soup as an appetizer! Then pick one of there yummy meals like the House pepper Steak, chicken broccoli, and many other amazing dishes! Serving Sizes are medium sizes and are filling. The place is very clean! It is a smaller restaurant but, do Not worry they will seat you. Normally not a wait time. Not open on Mondays. They have 5 out of 5 star service!

So so good, like everything is cooked with love. Especially love their moo-goo gai pan best still I've yet to try (lived in Lawrence and ft. Campbell, Norman). Cooked to perfection and the sauce is so good. Super crisp yummy veggies. Soups are very good. Everything is really good but yes, great owners and people too.

*Cash Only Restaurant* Not a deal breaker for me. What I ordered was very delicious. The egg rolls, I could literally eat 20 of them. Sooooo good. The lunch portion was a good size portion and the orange chicken was very tasty. The Shrimp Lo mein was good but the noodles were different from what I'm used to. They were thin but overall it was very delicious. I will definitely be coming back. The ladies that were working were so sweet!!

This is my favorite Chinese place in town while it has odd hours but the food is amazing I pretty much get the same thing every time. Presentations of the food is great. Quiet atmosphere.. the staff is friendly.. Did I mention amazing food

Been coming here for years. The food and service are always great! No buffet, so order off the good selection on the menu. Spicy dishes can be tailored to your level of heat.

The food was tasty and the buffet kept filled . All you can eat for $10. Waitress was courteous and checked on us often but not too often. Will visit again.

I always stop here when I’m town visiting family. They have great Chinese food and they’re a very nice family

Super good Chinese food. I haven't had this good Asian food since I lived on the West Coast! Nice little gem in the middle of the U.S. My wife and I travel at least once a week 25 miles to this restaurant to get take out and 25 miles back home. It is that good! So worth the hour wait to get some GREAT! Great China that is! Normally shrimp lo mein everywhere else has baby shrimp. The shrimp lo mein at Great China is made with JUMBO shrimp! So good!! Make sure you have cash or checks handy, because they don't accept credit/debit cards. So worth it though! The Phoenix and Dragon dish is amazing! General's chicken is the best I've had anywhere! Egg rolls are enormous and made fresh and from scratch! Crab ragoon actually has crab! Novel concept other Chinese restaurants might should try! This place is so good! Highly recommend it if you are ever in Independence. Great old school chinese place, and the owners are super friendly!

Great, local Chinese restaurant that has been a staple in the Independence community for years! Everything is home made and prepared by the family that owns the restaurant. Food is reasonably priced and the portion sizes are excellent.

Food is very fresh and not the typical Americanised Chinese buffet type restaurant. For this area it has the most authentic type dishes around. Good selection and very reasonable prices.

The food was hot and delicious! Best in the area. We loved the Hunan chicken and the hot and sour soup.
