One of my longest of all time favorite spots. I've floated to, from, and past this corner of my world for several decades and many good memories of the girls meeting up at D Town!!

Fantastic boating and fishing spot close to Nixa and Springfield. It has an easily accessible boat ramp and plenty of good fishing spots. Lots of available parking.

We couldn't decide if we wanted to go here or Shelvin access to fish, kayak, or wade. We got to Shelvin and it was way too crowded. There was no way we would catch anything there while fishing. Due to this we went to Delaware Access instead. We did not regret it! It is beautiful and peaceful. It has several spots to put your raft or kayaks in. Fishing is ok but only if you go down river a bit. It has less people. There is a porta potty in the parking lot as well. We took our dog with us and she absolutely loved it!

This is an insanely great float. 6 to 7 hours from here to hootontown but we stretched it to a 9 hour float. Can't wait to go again!

Very nice area with easy access to the water. Bit of a rough road getting back to it.

Gathered there for a church function and it was such a delightful spot! Secluded and the river was slower flowing so I didn't panic about the kids going in the river. Definitely wear shoes in the river as it has sharp rocks on the bottom!

It's very busy on the weekends, but it's a great place to put in your canoe and float down trip to Shelvin Rock.

Good place to put the kayaks in on the James River. Can be crowded at times but not a long wait.

They have a rope swing, would your kids can go down and because of the current they float back down to you so as a parent, you are able to feel safe and watch them swing and swim without worry

It’s very scenic the river flows fairly shallow through the access but deep enough for canoe or kayaking. There is trash and sometimes shady people smoking and drinking but mostly it’s families letting there animals or children play in the water or the fishing.

Was recommended by a family friend while on vacation. Was a wonderful day with family. Swimming not recommended I found out after due to multiple drownings and a snake bite victim. Wouldn't go again but had a great day with my family.
