Considering the many, many negative reviews of this establishment, I was awfully surprised at how pleasant my phone call was with the representative named Celina. I guess not everyone from here deserves a bad review. Celina deserves a promotion for great customer service! Haha

I've been having a ridiculous time trying to file local taxes this year (if you moved, you can't file online, so that's cool) and so I'm not loving Berkheimer right now. But Edie (probably spelling it wrong) at this office was incredibly helpful. She sympathized with me and told me how to fill it out with the problem I was running into and even ran numbers for me to help me figure out the totals. Thank you for that courteous customer service at what I'm sure is insane crunch time in the office!

I have been coming into the office for a few years now always needing help with the forms and every year the women at the front desk go above and beyond to help me. They are amazing.

I can’t wait to talk to you guys AGAIN tomorrow. I have not lived with my father for 16 years and have gotten these stupid taxes. They garnished my wages back in 2015 for it and I called. And called. And called. STILL DEALING WITH IT 9 YEARS LATER I AM ABSOLUTELY OVER THIS AND WILL BE TAKING LEGAL ACTION IF THIS IS NOT FIXED TOMORROW.

Loves to attempt to collect taxes years later that they never sent a form to collect for. Fascinating business model, wish I could collect fees from people who don't owe me money because they never submitted documents I never told them they needed to!

Hated even having to give one star yet here we are! I received a threatening letter at an address I haven’t lived in years, in the wrong name, with tons of inaccuracies. Reading and citing their own website to them and they kept reading a script over the phone. Needless, to say it was a short call! Waiting on a call from “Terry?” “Terry? Where you at girl? Waiting…”

You are all scum of the earth. I don’t care if you’re generally a good person, if you work here you’re guilty by association. You will burn in the eternal flames. See you there. I will be laughing while you scream in agony. I’d rather slit my own throat and throw myself feet first into a wood-chipper than work for such a conniving company.

Beware. They'll hit you with notices demanding money from you. They did Montco taxes during COVID, but they don't have all the information. It can be difficult, but contact them before paying. There's a chance you can clear this up with them without paying.

This firm illegally garnished my wages with no formal warning when no money was owed for 2018 taxes that I have emails confirming were settled and no money owed upon. When I contacted to inquire about the fraudulent garnishment, they stated they're really busy and forgot to fix my account months prior when they ensured me it was resolved via email and phone. They've been holding hundreds of dollars of mine and dancing around refunding it. This is quite possibly one of the most incompetent agencies to ever exist. A quick search will find complaints from hundreds of people who were fraudulently billed and still have never received their money back. I'm contacting state reps and the county tax department along with many others to demand something be done about Berkheimer.

I think this place is a joke. Why does my minor son, who is under the legal age have to pay a fee of $25 if he is a dependant? I was told that my son still has to file taxes even though hes a minor and a dependent. And because he had a after school job. What a joke. Not only do you go after adults, now you going after children that are trying to make a little pocket change, your company should be ashamed of yourself.

I went to pay my real estate tax on the due date at the Bridgeport office and found it closed and with no further information about why or when they would be available. I checked the website to confirm they were open and office hours. I had to leave my payment in an unattended mailbox in the lobby.

When I arrived I encountered two other taxpayers who wanted to pay their taxes and were frustrated as well. One woman wanted to pay her balance in cash as she had no credit card or bank account. Berkheimer states they won't accept cash for payment which the municipal authority for which they're collecting should require they do. A government authority or it's agent should have to accept cash.

While searching for possible explanation for the unscheduled closure a woman that worked for Bridgeport government and whose office is on the floor above told us that the Berkheimer office/personnel are frequently unavailable. People invariably go up to her office seeking an explanation for which she has none and venting to her.

A call to Berkheimer puts you into an automated queue.

Multiple years of unexplained fees and now a wage garnishment of the same fees I already paid. My efforts to contact support helped with nothing and explained nothing. The systems I'm being forced to use seem old and outdated (even if they are not). I'm not surprised at all there is poor communication and clearly errors in processing. No one should trust this system and it seems I have to take legal action to make it right. PA Taxes need to replace Berkheimer as soon as possible.

I keep receiving letters to pay local taxes from this company even though I’ve already paid the initial amount they billed me. I was starting to think something was wrong and now I can see from the reviews what a horrible company they are. Time to sue!

This place is an absolute joke, they can't keep track of anything correctly. Getting in touch with anyone who can actually help fix the problems they created is near impossible and submitting any documentation to their site returns errors. Now I have to spend time and money to mail documents to them to fix an error that they made. Get your act together, you guys are the absolute worst.

I just received a notice from my employer that Berkheimer is deducting a debt that was settled 2 years ago from my next paycheck. In 2016 they sent me a letter saying I owed taxes in a town that I hadn't lived in in 2015 and they wanted the taxes for it. I faxed them a copy of my leasing agreement and never heard from them again. I heard from my employer today that the debt that was supposed to be settled TWO WHOLE YEARS AGO is coming out of my wages.

They have extremely poor customer service. I called with 1 question about a form and the woman I spoke with was very condescending. They are very difficult to deal with and do not seem to have a focus on providing great customer service.
