Such a sacred location. What beautiful country this is. Ground yourself with mother nature. Legend says that Pyramid Lake has swallowed a few humans.

It's a bit of a drive, but worth visiting the natural Pyramid Island formation by kayak. The massive pyramid structure is difficult to climb (be mindful of safety - and of spiders) and has hot spring (extremely hot) outlets on the back side (about water-surface level). Depending on when you go, the water color is strikingly pretty and the arachnids themselves can be an attraction (sometimes they get quite large).

Good to see the refuge and the lake shore stay wild. Not overly exploited like Tahoe.
