Cartop State Recreation Area

Yeah, it's a definitely a lake there. Pretty sure it's water . There could be fish in it . IDK if id swim in it. There's like trees and stuff there too. Grill bring foil. Lmk if your gonna go there cause I'll bring some buns and tater salad , baked beans if your gonna grill some burgers

Great side of the road stop to get out for a picnic, or drop in a kayak and go fishing. One of many places to stop and visit Indiana's Largest lake.

*The road can be flooded at times, so be careful on your approach. It might seem like you can still drive your car across, but I wouldn’t recommend it.*

This is an fun, free recreation area at the tip of Monroe Lake. The beachfront has tiny seashells to admire and there are a few picnic benches and a lot of areas to walk around.

Very quiet and parking close to water so little carrying is my kayak. BEAUTIFUL wildlife is blue heron, dry eagles, and kingfish among others. The drive from installing was good and seemed quick. Will continue to enjoy this area.

Beautiful quiet put in for paddle boats. Not too many big party boats in this area. Also, gets shallow enough for lots of water bird sightings.

Nice quiet place for kayaking, fishing or just lounging by the lake.

Good place for kayaks and canues, can circle from Moffet to Rhoer rd + jump over to the east side of Lake Monroe. Grills available. Sometimes floods middle section cutting off Moffet from the other two roads...so Moffet the way to get to Cartop after heavy rains.

Nice place to launch a kayak or fish off the bank.

The smallish parking lot is literally steps from the water. Perfect for throwing a kayak or canoe into the lake and paddling around.
