Richards Restaurant

Right on the southern edge of town, this restaurant serves up a tasty breakfast skillet worth generous portion sizes. Breakfast is served all day for adults, but oddly enough is time limited on the kids menu. Our waitress was friendly and prompt, checking with us several times to ensure our visit was satisfactory.

The interior is a bit “worn-in”, but it definitely has that cozy and welcoming feel of grandma’s kitchen!

Our waitress was the most pleasant and had a beautiful smile. We stopped for their delicious fried chicken with mashed potatoes and coleslaw. We also tried the Patty Melt with creamy melted cheese and dill pickles which made the sandwich scrumptious. We topped off the lunch with their tasty strawberry shortcake which had plenty of sweet strawberries! Everything was delicious!

I have eaten here twice. First time I had a steak, mashed taters, a roll and a salad. The steak left a lot to be desired, no flavor but ok. The second time I had fried chicken mashed taters and mixed veggies. Chicken was the bomb dot com, taters are made from potato flakes but taste ok (gravy helps) and veggies had no salt or butter (I added butter I was given for my roll and added salt then they were fine). I will still go back as I am here from out of town for two weeks and it is close to a home cooked meal.

It was late Sunday night but we still received great service, quickly served delicious food and never felt rushed.

Had a wonderful meal at this very clean restaurant and with great service. I will most definitely be coming back. Loved it.

Very nice, casual, small chain restaurant. The salad bar is closed due to covid and every other table is closed. The service was really good. And the menu has a lot of items.

Richards always hits the spot! Food, service and atmosphere has never disappointed me.

Just passing through town, when we decided it was dinner time. Pulled in to a busy local restaurant, and what a pleasant surprise! Food was fresh and prepared to order. Prices were reasonable. If we're ever back in Hartford City, we'll surely stop!

This restaurant is awesome. The daily specials are amazing. The service is top notch. Very friendly and helpful. The best Richard's Restaurant around. If you're a fan of Richards you must try this place! It is truly the best Richard's Restaurant I have ever eaten at and I've eaten here often. Highly suggest eating here. if you're thinking about it run don't walk you won't regret it.!

Been years since I've dined at a Richards. Forgot how great the food is. The tenderloin Manhattan was very good along with the pretzel sticks. All priced super low as well. Would give 6 stars if I could.

We go here often. They have great specials and at a great price. I would normally given them a solid four stars, but the other day they had a special of a peanut butter bacon and jalapeno burger, which was amazing. If they can keep serving the great classics and mixing it up with some new specials I will continue to frequent this location.

Food is good ,we ordered traditional fried chicken is the best. The service is good very friendly.

5 fried chicken dinners. All excellent. The wheat rolls were very good. The young lady waiting on me was so nice, friendly, and sweet (a Bantz relative). Thank you.

Took my little man for lunch and we enjoyed our food and service. Waitress was nice and pleasant as well

Our food was outstanding, along with our waitress. We never wanted for anything.

Good food, good service. Nice clean place. I had the bacon swiss and it wasn't greasy or dripping with grease. I told the waitress steak fries and she suggested seasoned....much better. My mother and I had a good meal and a nice time talking and the food didn't break the bank. The Hartford City Richards is much nicer and cleaner than the one here in Portland. Wish they'd remodel the Portland one like Hartford City's....

It was my first time eating here, we were pleasantly surprised by the at home atmosphere. We were treated very nicely by the staff. The food was very good too. We will definitely be eating here again, once we get moved in on the north side of town
