Kabelin Ace Hardware - South Bend North

Purchased a chainsaw from their former location on Ireland Road three years ago. I only used it that one season for about 2 weeks. I brought it out of storage today and had a problem getting it started. I brought it in to the Roseland location and Mark came to the rescue!

He was more than just helpful, he was informative. He took the time to educate me on how to start it in the future. He even pointed out that I had installed the chain backwards after I had removed it to clean the bar before I put it into storage. He happily grabbed some tools and reinstalled it correctly! Wow! What service! I am very happy with my experience with this company! Thanks again, Mark!

The workers were really helpful. They had just what I needed: a small bag of cement. It was a torn bag but it's probably the right size for what I needed. It was placed inside another plastic bag so it wouldnt leak out over the car. They gave me a 15 percent discount because of the condition of the bag.

They were so helpful getting water coolers made into foal feeders for an orphan foal. I really appreciated how they helped me rig them and they worked great.

New to the area and have only been here twice. Both times the floor staff were quick to ask What I was looking for, which is appreciated. I haven’t a lot of time to see their whole inventory, but it seems to be adequately stocked with what you would expect. During the second visit, they didn’t have the adapter I needed but offered right away to order one for me. The lady at the checkout was pleasant and kind. Otherwise, it’s exactly what I’m looking for in a local hardware store.

Shoutout to manager Mason!! We had a snag in getting our smoker delivered today. I called and spoke with Mason and he handled the situation exactly as I'd hoped! Which was in a professional manner. I needed a part for my gas dryer. They didn't have it, but they ordered it for me. 10/10 customer service. They were friendly, helpful, and professional.

Not a big box store but it has a nice selection of useful items. Convenient and easy checkout. Knowledgeable staff who are helpful and friendly.

Great neighborhood hardware store. Not as cheap as the big box stores, but for the price you get better attention and helpfulness from the employees. Store is well-stocked with necessities and staff are attentive and helpful in finding what you need.

Lots to see, found items I couldn’t find any other places, especially when it come to kitchen sink parts. Friendly people always willing to help.

Tons of essentials neatly packed into this store and the customer service is beyond excellent. They know where everything is and have great advice on how to use it. One of the few places that cuts glass and window screens to size as well as keys. Also very helpful for creative suggestions for science projects, backyard projects, and home improvements. My dog is appreciative of their treat jar🐕

Good selection, found exactly what I needed. Kids loved the free popcorn and the staff is sterling. Plus, they contributed to a big service project around Christmas time by donating supplies for free. Wonderful asset to the community. Shop here!

First time visiting hardware store. Needed microwave bulb. The workers were very, very helpful. They ordered what I needed. Advised would call when it was in. They did call. GREAT SERVICE. Will return.

I love this place! It’s very refreshing to walk into a retail store where the associates actually care that you are there! There are always associates nearby, ready to help you. They always have what I need and where to find it. They even walked me straight to the item I came in for. I remember this place before the Kabelin family took it over and to say the least, it was overcrowded and dingy. After a beautiful remodel, this store is brand new. The whole team here seems to know their stuff and they are very polite and ready to help. I will go out of my way to come here instead of chasing people to help me at a big box store.

This place is AWESOME! One of the few little hardware stores left around. While the store may not be huge, they make up for with knowledgeable employees. I got help repairing some plumbing and even offered to order me some custom items not in stock for another project.

Their employees are amazing. I swear it seems like they send their employees to a hardware school or something because they all seem to have alot of knowledge of all tools and knows exactly what you are looking for. Lol. Thank you! You guys are AMAZING!
